Amir Khan Vs Floyd Mayweather Jnr

I’m just starting to wonder if Khans (possibly) superior Speed and developing ring general ship would be enough to keep him in good stead against Floyd Mayweather..?

Now I know that upon 1st thought this may seem absurd but just give it a little more thought... :)

I’m not saying Khan could beat Mayweather but what I'm trying to fathom is just how good/bad would Khan really look against The Pretty Boy? You've gotta admit, Khan would be the fastest, best mover put in front of Floyd.

I think Khan would put up a pretty respectable show ;)

I think he'd do ok for the first half, Floyd isn't a huge puncher but he has pretty decent power to get him by, ask Hatton. Khan's defence is a bit better than Ricky's so I think he'll do ok for the first half, maybe even win some of the rounds.. we've all seen Floyd struggle to cope with speed before, but I think floyd would slowly wear him down and inevitably end it with a TKO.

Khan tries to outspeed Floyd, gets caught with two lead rights buckles and is stopped by the end of the first after a brutal upper cut, left hook combo

If he did bother him for a bit, which is very debatable, I still think Floyd would adjust and handle him. Probably would pressure him with a high guard, lead rights.

but if it did then khan will probably last for about 6-8 rounds before floyd KOs him.

Khan has the speed to trouble Floyd but that is it.I think Floyd wins by tko,i carnt see him sitting there trying to counter Khan imo he will beat Khan to the punch ,using his jab to unsetle Khan and step in with the straight right hand and he will wear Khan down for a mid way tko.

is this a joke mayeather would ko him in the 1st or else play about with him for a few rounds then ko him and ad say meyweather is faster than khan

Mayweathers most underrated asset is his power, he will be too much for Khan and I dont see it going past the first 3 rounds if that.

Mayweather is a little faster than Khan who is very fast, but MAyweather would beat him to the punch, and even though MAyweather isn't a huge puncher, he's a bigger puncher than Barrera who hurt Khan when he landed that left hook, and Mayweather would land for sure on Khan.

Mayweather plays it easy for the first two rounds checking Khan's style, then starts on him in the 3rd & I think takes him out in the 5th or 6th round.

Khan wouldn't win a round. IMO he wouldn't beat Katsidis either!

Floyd would break his heart, dominate him for a few rounds and finish him off round 5 or 6. Can I just add that Floyd is not as fast as he used to be, I would say Khan is just as fast.

Mayweather doesn't show his speed as much anymore, but besides footspeed with declines for everything, he is close enough to his old speed to still be faster than Khan, if he was in his prime or even when he was at 135 or 140 he was significantly faster than Khan. I just don't feel that he commits to punches like he used because he doesn't want to get hit as much against bigger guys.

I cannot believe this is even being debated. Mayweather wins easily.

As promising as Kahn's abilities' been on display as of late, he STILL is quite too raw for "a" PBF. This is will be an embarassment of a fight for the youngster!

He needs to ask Pavlik how it was dealing with "a" BH, before venturing into this....HYPOTHETICALLY speaking!

Agree, although he shows some good skills this one is a run before you can walk case.....if he runs into PBF he falls on his arse, and fairly soon I would say.PBF just has too much top drawer experience for this to even seem like a good idea.

I am inclined to a different belief. Khan will be able to last 12 rounds against PBF because of Mayweather's style. He might even give a scare to Mayweather with his speed.:cool:

The beauty about ROy Jones Jr, and Floyd Mayweather Jr's styles is that I don't think any one attribute can give you an edge on them, I think they've delt with more situations in the ring than almost anyone else and thats why they were/are so effective against so many different styles, and thats why I believe GUillermo RIgondeaux will be as well. I just think they have an ability to adapt, but they also have that experience of facing everything imaginable, and in FLoyd's case, if he sticks to his fundamentals along with his athletic ability not much should shake him.

he's not, I've looked at it in slow motion, Floyd is still faster, by quite a bit. So is currently Mosley on the COllazo fight, Pacquiao, Berto, even Andre Dirrell's punches get from point a to point b on average faster than Khan.
