Nice one, Sal! Cotto has this in the bag then! :D
I just read that Teddy Atlas also picked Cotto, it is now 2-1 in Clotteys favor. ;)
Like Kirilov dominated Darchinyan?
I'm Ghanian and I don't even think he will dominate.
The heart says Clottey, my heritage says Clottey but my head says Cotto.
I think boxing wise Clottey does everything better, he throws more punches on average and does not take rounds off.
Cotto UD for me.
Sal maybe a totally mad drunk and the biggest Zab Judah, fan boy on the planet i mean how many people wear Zab Judah boxers ?
But Sal in the past has had a few good upset predictions, he predicted Carlos Quintana would give Paul Williams a boxing lesson, atleast over a year before it happened.
Clottey is a warrior and will do well against Cotto, but he certainly won't dominate him, and in reality, won't beat him. Cotto has all the qualities or a top, top fighter, I think he'll stop him in or around round 9. Before moving on to unify the welterweight division. Bring on Mosley next.
I think Clottey has a chance tonight. But dominate? Come on Unless Javier Capetillo is wrapping Clottey's hands I don't see that happening.
you know what.....fair dues to cotto for taking a tough fight like this just one fight after his lost to margarito, esp as clotty is somewhat similer to margarito in tough, solid chin, hard hitter.......i can reel of a list of fighters who would have avoided such a stern test...but we all know who thoses are lol
What is the start time, EST? Anyone? plzktnx in advance.
I am not thinking that Cotto will KO Clottey, but I believe that Cotto will win the decision. I am hoping to see a Cotto combining his boxing with smart aggression to dominate Clottey. It will not be an easy fight and it promises to be really exciting.
I think Cotto beats Clottey as easily as Berto beat Urango, i.e a tough workmanlike performance where Cotto never looks like losing.
I think it's a dull matchup in all honesty, Clottey will give up mentally by the second half of the fight and Cotto will coast to a wide UD win.
clottey dominated teh majority of that fight...
but tomorrow is the puerto rican day parade...
so im not shocked about this but wtf man, 116-111?
I wish I could say either fighter dominated, but for me that wasn't the case at all. There was no clear winner from what I saw.
The cut and perhaps the fall/knee for Clottey interfered with the performances. It was an entertaining fight that could have been scored a win/loss for either fighter.
I agree that Cotto got the win because he was fighting in "home" arena, but I don't feel like it was in any way a robbery and no way a dominating performance by either competitor.
