Set in concrete.
Got a tree in your yard? A roof with an overhang?
Use scaffolding - it all joins together with big allen key clips and is easy to take down and put up. I built one like that for my brother (haNDILY, i WORKED ON A CONSTRUCTION SITE AT THE TIME)
Get a piece of gal pipe about 4 inches in diameter by 2 feet 1/2 in length and let it into the ground just below ground level with concrete all around it down lower. Just dig the hole one shovel wide the wholeway down so you only need one large bag of pre mixed.
Get another length of tubing that slots into the inside of the first pipe;get one about ten feet long. (yeah, like a give way sign pole)
Get it bent over on the top so you can hang your bag on it when ever you like and take the whole lot away when ever you like too.Just tie a cover around it or take it inside when not in use. You can just lift the whole thing out of the ground if you ever move and all you have to do is get another short length and a bag of quick set and your away again at the next place. Drill a hole through the end of the long upside down L shaped one and put a bolt through it so you can put a hook on it for your O on the chains then you jiust lift it on and off.You may need to drill through the base of them both and put a bolt in it to stop it twisting but thats all. It twisting around can be ok and good pracitice for shifting targets.
I have had my heavy bag up in to many places, from the roof, under the bobcat, car hoist, basically anywhere, a hook from the wall. that's just the heavy bag, then i got two speed balls, on the other side of the garage, on a wall, i had it all over the place too. same goes with the double ended bag, so i got so sick of having things so far away from each other so i bought a stand, for around 3200 Swedish kr, which is quite a lot and it was shit, the speed ball platform was loose, even if i welded it the whole stand made it shake. and the stand moved from the heavy bag basically, 100 lb bag
it broke down and i didn't get my money back so i built one myself the other day.

Hi Joker,
I'm coming in late on this thread 'cause I haven't been around in awhile. Anyway, here's my two cents if you haven't resolved this issue yet - just buy one, less hassle...
Check this one out: http://alifightgear.com/AFG-HEAVY-DU...-USA_p_29.html I purchased one right after breaking my second Century Cornerman stand. It's the best one I found for the price and quality (and believe me, I scoured the web and all the boxing/martial arts supply stores far and wide in So Cal). So much so, that I posted a glowing review of it on the site because it's an outstanding product and also to return the favor to the owner, who sold me the stand for even less than the advertised sale price.
Take Care,
Lito
