Valero will knock him out. Casa's been past it for years (since before the third Chico fight really), might be just flat out shot now.
I slightly agree but casa was winning the fight with jmm, i think casa can still pull off a win over a wild puncher like valero since he didnt look that bad against a top 2 rank p4p boxer like jmm (ofcourse he got ko'ed but before that part;D)
I think this is a good fight to take for both fighter, if valero wins his resume credibility doubles.
If the same Casamayor who fought Marquez turns up on the night it'll be a proper test for Valero.
Good fight...
Great fight and a stiff test for Valero.
Casa by KO. Valero's chin is way up in the air.
I like Valeros fire and brimstone approach. He leaves nothing to the imagination and sells out for the power in the truest way.But at some point....I believe that someone will unwrap him as if he was a big shiny Christmas gift and expose & take advantage all of his short comings.Casa is old, tattered and showing signs of a guy living on the other side of it.I think Valero needs to knock him out inside of 3 or 4....or Casa will weather it and look to school him badly. This may come down to all mind and matter.I'll take a faded Casa with immense championship experience to drown him in the deep end of the pool.
IMO the 27 year old Valero will defeat 38 year old Casa...
.
Just like moseley, I would not count the old Casa as out yet. Sure, Valero has wind in sails and is definitely one of the hardest banger pound for pound around (not to say one of the hottest prospects) but I am always reluctant to cast the old able wolves out on a whim, I still have fresh in mind Hopkins-Trinidad when everybody, including the experts, were expecting Trinidad to mangle the X-cutioner.
Great choice by Valero as he catches Joel near the end of his run. I'd predict a KO within 6 rounds if they fought. :foruml10gc5:
This fight has Casamayor-Katisidis written all over it.
But think age and the way Joel was savaged by JMM. The first guy who willl be Valero in my opinion will be someone who comes in fast between his wide shots and open chin. Kind of like what Juan Manuel Lopez did to Ponce de Leon. I just don't see JC being able to do that......but now you all have me wondering.:confused:
I can see a Soto turning the tables on Valero, long fast starter as of late and enough power to ruin a vacation.
Remember ol vet Penalosa endured a Ponce onslaught and had him clueless and flat hitable in the late rounds also.Cards lied in that one chief ;D.Two ways to skin a kat.
Soto beats Valero probably, prime Casa handles Valero and beats him up in the later rounds.
This Casa gets hammered. Or at the least is put on the defensive too much to win the fight. I have very little doubt. Maybe we'll see although I'd be a bit surprised if this comes off.
Penalosa did beat Ponce IMO.
This is a good fight IMO and a lot more fans are going to find out if the Valero hype is for real depending on how the fight with Casamayor goes down.
But Casa had never been stopped until he fought Marquez so I'm not sure if I want to say that Valero can stop him, though he does have some heavy hands.
Valero will add another almost 40ish boxer in his KO list...

Ponce and Valeo are friends and train together in LA where Valero is a gym legend due to his incredible non-stop training techniques. However, they both have the same weakeness; namley, coming in with wide looping shots that a skilled and fast puncher could get between. de Leon got iced that way by JML--and it could happen to Valero--but not by a aging JC.
This will be an early and clean starch job (pardon the near pun).:pimp2:
Casamayor is done. This will be another good test for Valero and I think this ends in 4 or 5 rounds with Valero stopping him. Valero is a beast.
LOL he won at least seven rounds
assuming you judge fights on clean punching and not just ineffective activity.
Valero-Soto would be more interesting. I think Valero kisses the canvas faster the Bobby Pac.
Its sad that Casamayor lost that decision to Freitas. Because he would have done so much in those prime years for the division he could have retired by now and not have to still fight for respect
Casamayor doesn't have to fight for respect at this point.
casamayor vs valero will be like penalosa vs juanma lopez and the outcome will be similar: a ko loss to the aging fighter.
casa should retire before he gets punished.
Edwin Valero may of showed some skills in sparring, but in actual fights. He has showed me nothing except for punching power. People are making the mistake again of writing off the older fighter too quickly.
Joel Casamayor maybe on the slide, but he still put up a great effort against JMM. And all Edwin Valero has is punching power, he's like the early version of Manny Pacquiao without the speed.
Im actually picking Joel Casamayor, i still think he has skills to beat Edwin Valero. He also still packs a punch and we don't really know how good Edwin Valero's chin is.
JC'S demise will be violent. :fighting0043gi5:
