JMM or Floyd Mayweather Jr ? there two of my favorite fighters, and im finding it very hard who too root for. In a way i was glad the fight was called off, so i didn't have to see a loser, but now its back on im hoping its a draw :-\

It's a no brainer for me, Marquez. ;D
I would love to see a humble, brilliant boxer, who doesn't run from the tough challenges in his own division to win, rather than a jacka$$. And I would rather see Marquez get the big money fights after this win, than Mayweather.
Think about it this way too, if Mayweather wins, it will be, oh well he won another fight that he was expected to win, no big deal, but think about the buzz that would be created for boxing if Marquez wins. :scratchchin:

Floyd is a BIG favourite. He picked Marquez for his comeback because he sees him as easy pickings (top money).

He better hope Floyd shows his age in this fight. I'm sure Floyd could stop him if he wanted considering the size advantages he has.
You should always go with the underdog in mismatches like this. Floyd is so unlikeable and is often quite tedious and boring....both in and out of the ring. Marquez is a great boxer to watch and seems like a decent chap too.
It can only be Marquez.
nobody is going to lose sleep if Floyd has to face Cotto though, its still a really good fight. IMO Marquez's style works against a pure boxer who is bigger than him like Mayweather, but I can't see his style being effective against Cotto, he doesn't have the mentality to not get hit, and there is no way Marquez could go to war with Cotto. I think Manny has the speed and uses it effectively enough to handle Cotto, but thats just my opinion, I think Cotto is still very dangerous for him. I also think Mayweather brings more to the table against both Pacquiao and Cotto, not that he will do better than Marquez against them(though I think he will), but because he's a much bigger star than Marquez, and neither Manny or Miguel have faced him before.Quote:

Root for Floyd, because if he wins and he should, it will be him versus Pacman.
And since Pacman is a 1 dimensional brawler I would love to see Floyd school him on what the sweet science is all about, which is to hit and not get hit.
Also 2 of my favourite fighters, but Floyd is my favourite, & if he wins it offers up more potential future fights for us to see than if JMM wins.

I'm gonna order the fight. I don't really care who's gonna win. I just wish it's worth paying for. I mean both of them are counter punchers. Neither of them will throw 80-120 punches per round.
Marquez will be taking all the risks to make it a fight, he ain't the type of guy who wants to be in a boring stinker of a fight. It's a shame he is older, smaller and slower than Floyd, he will have to count on his superb timing and heart to win this one.Quote:

Everyone wants JMM to win, well alot of people anyway. Floyd is such an asshole its hard to root for him, but I will anyway.
Just do what I do in this situation, sit back and enjoy the fight. Cheer for action in general, not a specific fighter. It brings another level of appreciation.

It has to be Marquez. Maywaether is a full time celebrity and a part-time boxer. I'd say its better for boxing if Marquez wins. Mayweather is almost using it as a tune-up, IMO its disrespectful to use one of the top P4P fighters as a 'tune-up', it would be great if Marquez shows Mayweather that he is nobodys tune-up. If mayweather wins it will make himself and others believe that he is the only star in boxing - capable of doing as he please as he is so much better than the rest. Personally, id like Marquez to show that NOBODY is good enough to not box for 20 months or so and come straight back and beat one of the best, for me that devalues the other great fighters. The downside would be the loss of mayweather-Pacquaio (if Pac beats Cotto)
I see your point Ryan totally Im going for Marquez too. But many will say that it will prove Floyds greatness all the more by going for him, even though the size difference.
Floyd represents a huge chunk of what I dislike so no matter against who he's fighting, I would find it very difficult to wish him a victory sincerely from the bottom of my heart, it'll be Marquez all the way as far as I am concerned.
By the sounds of it the only people who will be cheering come the end of this fight will be me and JT Rock.

The winner should who Pacquiao face next.
If Floyd wins, i hope he would show some class of bringing the fight to Marquez instead of Marquez chasing him all night long.
