FNF 7/17/09 Prescott vs. Vazquez
Lady and Gentlemen.
He comes the next chapter in "The prospect that was never supposed to be". Hard hitting Colombian (albeit with more skills that most of his countrymen) Breidis Prescott is trying to put another interesting fight under his belt. After the one round destruction of Amir Khan, Prescott stepped in against (the only active Equadorian fighter I know of) Humberto Toledo. In that match Toledo tried an unorthodox approach which didn't seem to phase Prescott. Toledo became more and more frustrated and increased dirty desperation tactics crescendoing to a 10th round DQ via neck bite in a clinch.
His opponent Miguel Vazquez has been coming down in weight over the years, bouncing back and forth between Light Welter and Welter. To be honest I don't know much about Vazquez, but he has only lost to very good competition (Saul Alvarez x2 and Timothy Bradley)
The undercard features Cuban phenoms Erislandy Lara (taking on durable Journeyman Darnell Boone) and Guillermo Rigondeaux (against some dude from Arizona that's had 8 fights in 13 years as a pro and has no power)

Should be a decent night. I see Rigondeaux is fighting another bum.

It is only his 2nd fight, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for about 5 fights. A nice little step up for Lara, Boone's been in with some real good competition and is usually competitive. They may also show the Sharef Bogere guy that one dude on here (Sharef himself I assume) is always talking about.

Fair enough Killer. But this guy he's fighting sounds worse than the last one:D
Yeah I'm anxious to see this Sheriff Booger guy. Hope they show it.

I assume he's the swing match, The way Prescott fights there is a good probability it will be over quick. I doubt Lara will get the stoppage against Boone. I picture Guillermo showing off with fancy not over powerful stuff.
I'd say we have a 33% chance of seeing Boogers.

Re: FNF 7/17/09 Prescott vs. Vazquez
Sounds good, I keep on thinking Prescott's gonna lose, I don't think he's really that good. I don't think I've ever seen the other guy so its hard to pick him. Khan will end up having the better career I think.
I want to see the Cubans, especially Lara.

I really like Lara when he lets his hands go, I think as his competition improves he will look better and better. I have to assume they as just getting Rigondeaux used to the TV lights.
:woot: NASCAR

Re: FNF 7/17/09 Prescott vs. Vazquez
Happy fight night...no doubt about that.Prescott showed some diversity and boxing last outing with man-shark Toledo. And patience and restraint......I would have fed Toledo the nearest stool that night;D
Hope Teddy has settled down over Rigondeaux.Awesome potential but think went over board just a tad last time.

Re: FNF 7/17/09 Prescott vs. Vazquez

Better effort than Noriega for sure.

Re: FNF 7/17/09 Prescott vs. Vazquez
That was quick.
But it was a nice body shot.
-
Re: FNF 7/17/09 Prescott vs. Vazquez
Rigondeaux's speed just isn't as dynamic as I thought it would be.
-
Re: FNF 7/17/09 Prescott vs. Vazquez
How do you spell his name...Louie dacubis ??? Man I dislike that fooker
Hope they dont insist on airing every single one of these padders but buisness is buisness I suppose.....bring on the lesser known 6 rnd walkout scraps :shinner:

Re: FNF 7/17/09 Prescott vs. Vazquez
Booger getting the shaft on the swing fight. Instead Yudel Johnson up next. Johnson looked great in his debut, I was more impressed with him than Rigondeaux.
-
Re: FNF 7/17/09 Prescott vs. Vazquez
Is lara fighting Darnell Boone?
-
Re: FNF 7/17/09 Prescott vs. Vazquez

Re: FNF 7/17/09 Prescott vs. Vazquez
Johnson definately needs some fashion advice, good idea, poor execution. Looks a little like clown pants.
Paolo has not even a prayer here.

No. Only thing that would surprise me is if I manage to stay awake.

Re: FNF 7/17/09 Prescott vs. Vazquez
Second time I've seen rigoundouex or whatever and I really don't see the big deal. Lara has the most potential ask me.
