Khan-Maidana In The Works?
Maybe.
Khan-Maidana in October? | Fightnews - Boxing News Updated 24/7
This would be really impressive if they did this. Maidana is a bit wild but if this fight was made I think I would pick Maidana.
-
Re: Khan-Maidana In The Works?
Wow; would be nice if it happens this soon. I would also go with Maidana.
-
Re: Khan-Maidana In The Works?
Maidana did say after he stopped Victor Ortiz that a fight with Khan would be "easy".
I'd like to see it.
He'd have to catch Khan first though.
-
Re: Khan-Maidana In The Works?
Khan gets knocked out in 5.

He'll get knocked right back into obscurity; and him and Hatton will rehash Olympic glory and Kostya stories over a pint or two.

well he's the guy that should have won Kotelnik's strap but was screwed over, and just beat Victor Ortiz, guy has the one thing that makes Khan shit himself, power, and lots of it, IMO the first big shot he lands on Khan will put him to sleep, and it's not like it's hard to, Barrera with a gaping gash on his forehead managed to mark him up, and quite a bit at that
-
Re: Khan-Maidana In The Works?
this would be a great test for khan, if he gets past Maidana he deserves lots of credit cause Ortiz couldnt'.

I agree. They must be pretty confident; Roach especially, to put him in with Maidana. He'll shut up some mouths{mine included} if he does pull it off; if it really even gets made.
-
Re: Khan-Maidana In The Works?
Intriguing match... if Khan makes it, it means 2 things: 1) Roach deserves without contest his 5 stars grade and 2), Kahn deserves some credit this time no matter what.
-
Re: Khan-Maidana In The Works?
Maidana became the mandatory by beating Ortiz. I for one really look forward to this fight, full credit to whomever comes out the winner.
Classic case of fast smooth boxer versus caveman. I'm actually gonna go with Khan in this fight, reason being he listens to his corner (something Ortiz failed to do) this is by no means definitive and I certainly wouldn't lay down cash on him. It will be interesting to see if Khan's stamina holds up against Maidana who will certainly be pressing more.
-
Re: Khan-Maidana In The Works?
I'm not gunna make a prediction just yet.. I only do that if the fight is official. But if Team Khan are serious about this fight then well done! and there was everyone thinking Khan would be defending his belt against weak names.

if Khan beats Maidana i'll give him full credit, i don't give him much credit for the Kotelnik win, cause i didn't really think much of Kotelnik in the first place, he was the worst of the top 10 at 140, but yea i'll already give him credit just for signing the fight

Re: Khan-Maidana In The Works?

nuthuggers and haters. both irritating lol

Re: Khan-Maidana In The Works?
If Amir takes this fight and if he does manage to win, I don't think his detractors will have anything to say.
This fight could end all doubters, but of course it could seriously derail his career also.

yea to be a hater you have to have something against the FIGHTER, i just can't stand his fans, not Pacquiao himself, and that's not even to all his fans, just the ones that ramble on meaningless "facts about him" and the ones that think he's some holy figure

Re: Khan-Maidana In The Works?
This would be a very interesting fight. Khan's chin would get tested, because at some point one of Maidana haymakers is going to land. However, I think Khan handles his power better than expected the (very) few times he gets caught and boxes his way to a wide UD.

Pac got stopped in very different ways than Khan did. The two are not even remotely comparable IMO.

i see. just the filipino pac fans who you decided in your mind are all like saddoboxer.

Re: Khan-Maidana In The Works?
I see Khan winning this by UD.
I can see Khan racking up points by outboxing Maidana. I see Khan having one or two moments than he is in trouble but think he takes a shot better at 140 than he did at 135.
I will go out on a limb and say Khan could even drop Maidana is he will walk onto something. Does not mean he will be hurt but think he could get dropped.

ummm when the hell did race get involved, get over yourself and your crush for Pacquiao, and on that dude you should be embarrassed to have Banal there, he's a joke, went running from a fight against an old man in Lopez lol

I totally agree with that. With the volume of punches coming from Khan and Maidana jumping in like a tazmanian devil it's a very realistic scenario.

ok, i take that back, but get over yourself man. don't go hatin on everyone who backs up pacquiao. you're the one who's embarrassing yourself

Re: Khan-Maidana In The Works?
I think Maidana is very beatable, not that he's not talented, but as long as Khan fights his fight then I think he can beat him maybe even stop him (probably prematurely) with a barrage of punches in the corner. Maidana lacks any quality defensive skills & as good as his win against Ortiz was, I felt that if Ortiz had been a bit smarter rather than trying to blow him out in the 2nd & then going to war he might have won. I don't think Khan will get drawn into Maidana's fight, although there is every chance that Maidana's right hand connects & lays Khan out.

yeah? show me a post where you figured i'm a nuthugger.

Re: Khan-Maidana In The Works?
I can't see Khan avoiding Maidana for 12 rounds, heck Maidana could very
likley catch him early and stop him.
Chances are this fight won't happen though, especially if Khan stays with Warren...
-
Re: Khan-Maidana In The Works?
Can see Khan stopping him but at the same time Maidana has power and Khan's chin isn't solid.
Still think Maidana is too wild and open to fast flurries. If Khan can take a half decent shot at 140 then he has little trouble here. If he can't, he's fucked.
-
Re: Khan-Maidana In The Works?
It could be the weight issues where Khan was chinny at a lower weight but maybe his chin has improved, because he was a big lightweight and it could be struggles there. Examples would be Oscar De La Hoya and Miguel Cotto who were chinny at the lower weights but didn't become chinny at the higher weights.

Maybe his 1.5% body fat did him in ;D

When has ODH ever been considered chinny? Serious question.

I agree with all that. Maidana is a decent fighter, but he is somewhat predictable. He likes to lead in with the same power shots over and over again, with a careful planned strategy he can be worked out and outboxed. Ortiz was just too gungho and didn't think and paid the price.
I think Maidana will land and it's all about if Khan can take it. I'm not so sure he can, but it will be interesting to see.

Re: Khan-Maidana In The Works?
Khan will probably win this.

Agreed im not that impressed with Marco Rene Maidana, to be honest. I think he beat Andriy Kotelnik, but again Andriy Kotelnik is nothing special. I will give Amir Khan credit if he takes this fight though, because despite Marcos Rene Maidana being a crude fighter, he's still a banger and its still a dangerous fight.
