Looks like Pavlik may have gotten into trouble this weekend
Well not sure what will come out of this, but according to the local paper here, Kelly punched some guy in the nuts. :o

When they post an update, I'll post it here.
Based on some of the comments on the article, some don't seem that surprised by it.

A bollock shot from Pavlik gotta hurt I would think. Was he pissed? Seems a bit over the top for a guy like Kelly.

Well remember, Kelly did punch a cop once, so this doesn't seem so over the top compared to that.

Re: Looks like Pavlik may have gotten into trouble this weekend
Is it bad that I've been laughing for about the past two minutes about this?
"Robert A. Cappitte told police that he went into the East Side Civics about 11 p.m. Saturday, walked up to Pavlik, 28, to say “hi” and Pavlik punched him in the groin."
;D Haha, how random is that?

That's not good, I must have missed the cop thing. What is he playing at? He always struck me as a classy guy but the stuff he has been coming out with lately and stuff like this it sounds like he is on a bit of a downward spiral.:-\

About as random as it gets; and frankly unbelievable. If it's true than I'm done with Pavlik, as he seems to be losing his mind quite rapidly and that's just a stupid and unnecessary thing to do. It is funny though;D

Re: Looks like Pavlik may have gotten into trouble this weekend
Here's more details. It was more than his nuts I guess, and supposedly Jack Loew was involved as well.
Who's telling the truth, who knows, but you would think that if Kelly is trying to fight off rumors of being a drunk, you would think he would stay away from bars for awhile.

Re: Looks like Pavlik may have gotten into trouble this weekend
At first I was seriously worried for Kelly upon reading the title of this thread. But after seeing he smashed someone's funbags, I cannot stop laughing!!

Re: Looks like Pavlik may have gotten into trouble this weekend
That's funny: the guy gets hit then tells Kelly if he does it again they will be fighting outside, then Kelly knocks him down again LMAO;D
Sounds like a bunch of bs to me; but who knows. What a great youtube moment that would be.

Re: Looks like Pavlik may have gotten into trouble this weekend
"According to what Cappitte told police, he fell to the floor after being struck. He then got up and told Pavlik that if he hit him again, they would be fighting outside. Cappitte told police that Pavlik then struck him in the forehead and he fell again. Pavlik and Loew, 50, then both jumped on Cappitte, punching him repeatedly in the body, the report said."
;D

Re: Looks like Pavlik may have gotten into trouble this weekend
I'd have the police order the Boardman to show them his nuts. If they aren't exploded or one missing Kelly simply did not hit him.

Re: Looks like Pavlik may have gotten into trouble this weekend
It also looks like Kelly had some problem at his house the week before as well. This was a little blurb in the local news section of the Vindy.
ATV rider injured
CANFIELD — The Canfield Joint Fire District responded to an emergency call to Kelly Pavlik’s property Sunday.
An EMS crew was called to Sugarbush Drive about 8:30 p.m. after someone called to report an all-terrain-vehicle accident.
Deputy Chief Don Hutchinson said the person on the vehicle was not Pavlik. One person was injured, but Hutchinson was unable to provide a name or say if the person was taken to the hospital.
And here is a comment that was posted about what happened.
I hope that one day the truth will come out about the ATV rider article. I heard from an eye witness that it was not an ATV - but a 4 person type off road vehicle - owned by Pavlik himself. He indeed was the driver of the off road vehicle. 2 people were injured and taken to the ER room via amblance. Just because he is your so called "home town" hero... does not give him the right to get away or cover up his mistakes. Two lives could have been taken that night.. and all he is worried about is covering up his mistakes - what a "hero"

Maybe just a little. ;) ;D
For the record, I would be pissed at any fighter that signed a contract, and didn't honor it. This time, it just happens to be Pavlik screwing Sergio over.

Re: Looks like Pavlik may have gotten into trouble this weekend
Only way this guy could take a pavlik bare fisted punch without needing medical treatment is if kelly was extremely drunk or the guy has an iron chin
kellys a cool guy, shouldnt sacrifice his personal life completely for the sport. So the man likes a drink or 10 as long as he can make weight and isnt harming anyone around him whats the deal.
Vernon and arturo both just got murdered, tyson rapes women....in comparision kellys drink issue is nothing!

Unless he was drinking when the accident happened at his place, then it would be an issue, because someone did get harmed.

I was talking about the accident at his home with the off road vehicle, not the bar fight.
If Kelly was drinking with his buddies, and he really was the one driving the vehicle, then it is an issue, because someone did get hurt.

Re: Looks like Pavlik may have gotten into trouble this weekend
I do hope Pavlik fights Mora. Then knocks his head clean off, about 5 rows back. Then punches his remaining trunk of a carcass right in the testicles before it hits the canvas. :p
No offence intended, Diane.

Pavlik seems to be getting a lot of attention lately and none of it for boxing. This sounds like one of those stories where neither side is being totally honest. If Pavlik is in a bar then people should leave him alone, but you will always get one wise guy who just won't take no for an answer. A punch in the balls is what happens. If that is the case, then you can't get too angry with Pavlik.

Re: Looks like Pavlik may have gotten into trouble this weekend
If this is true then it is truly Mike Tyson worthy.

Re: Looks like Pavlik may have gotten into trouble this weekend
Whether it's ALL true or not remains to be seen but two things are for sure, Cappitte (guy who said he got his nuts crunched) is a roid rage idiot who EXAGGERATES and two that Kelly needs to eat and sleep boxing like his younger days before the sport passes him by. I've told him before it's family, then boxing to forget all the blood and money sucking leaches. Kelly will come out of this just fine, but TEAM PAVLIK needs to wake up and do their job and thats protecting the name and integrity of Kelly Pavlik. A microscope is placed on Kelly the minute he leaves his driveway, their are haters here in youngstown towards Kelly and it shouldn't be up to Kel to deal with thats TEAM PAVLIKS job. When we go out people constantly want pics or autographs and he rarely declines but theirs always one idiot who wants to make their voice heard, we as friends make it our point to shut that voice up without Kelly even knowing and stop things before they start. TAKE NOTES TEAM PAVLIK!!!

Police: No evidence boxer Kelly Pavlik assaulted man in club
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS (CP) – 7 hours ago
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Police say they have found no evidence that WBC middleweight boxing champion Kelly Pavlik and his trainer assaulted a man in a nightclub last weekend in Pavlik's hometown of Youngstown.
No charges have been filed.
Youngstown police chief Jimmy Hughes said Tuesday the initial investigation into a report filed by 45-year-old Ronald Cappitte of Boardman has turned up no corroborating evidence.
Cappitte alleges he walked up to Pavlik in a bar about 11 p.m. Saturday, said, "Hi," and was punched in the groin. A police report says he fell, got up and was punched repeatedly in the body by Pavlik and trainer Jack Loew.
Loew said the incident "got so blown out of proportion."
He said Kelly and Cappitte have been friends for years.
"They were goofing around and the next thing I know he lunges at Kelly and grabs him by the neck, and Kelly thinks they're still playing. He's laughing around. And my wife says to me, 'Jack, I don't think this kid is playing around anymore.' And I stepped between them."
Loew said he and Pavlik had just arrived at the East Side Civics club. The two had been at an amateur boxing show that was a fundraiser for Pavlik's gym, the Southside Boxing Club, where the boxer trains.
"There was not one punch thrown," Loew said. "We were having a great time. We just got there."
"I'm 49 years old. I got no use to be rumbling on bar floors. Things are going too good for me these days to be doing that."
Loew said several other people at the bar got into a scuffle after he pulled Pavlik away.
John D'Altorio Sr., one of Pavlik's publicists and friends, said Pavlik and Cappitte were "horsing around" and things got a little out of hand. He said Pavlik frequents the club and is very popular.
As for Loew, "Jack was trying to break things up," D'Altorio said.
Pavlik has held the WBC middleweight title since September 2007 and has successfully defended his title twice, most recently in February with a ninth-round TKO over Marco Rubio in Youngstown.

Whether this story is true or not
I think its hilarious how some fans are actually justifying this more or less coming to Pavlik's defense or happy he did this. I think the Joker was right where he said the moral code is a bad joke. Because I know full well if Mayweather was in this situation everyone here would be crucifying him. But you don't crucify Pavlik because the "tv" portrays him as a "good guy" and the "tv" portrays mayweather as a "bad guy" yet you meet Mayweather in person away from the camera and he is a great down to earth guy who apparently would even take time out of his day for someones children yet you continue to hate him because of how the "tv" says he is.
All we're hearing about Pavlik lately outside of the ring is these incidents and bad things he's doing or who he is screwing out of a contract of fighting him yet you still defend him or even try to justify his obviously negative actions because of how the "tv" portrays him. I just find that hilarious.

Uhmm no on the Mayweather comparison because Mayweather comes off as an a*s. Pavlik comes off as a good dude. Even taking into consideration, everything Pavlik does is for PR and who knows how he is behind closed doors. We can be certain PBF is a pr*ck.
Here is one place where PBF insinuates he is better p4p tham Ali: Bossip.com Archive *Exclusive Interview With Floyd Mayweather, Jr.*: “You Know Bossip…I Don’t Know Why I Am Not Considered the Pound for Pound Best!” .
Here is PBF on Ricky Hatton: "I don't think he holds a grudge against me for effectively ending his brother's career."
Here is PBF on white people in boxing:“This is not a racial statement,” Mayweather began his racially charged statement. “But there’s no white fighters in boxing that are dominating. So they had to go and do something else and start something new.” Mayweather's Race Baiting, Ignorance Comes Out Again - Boxing News
There isn't any reason to justify KP's actions if indeed there were actions as those alluded to earlier to be considered, but there has not been one charge that has stuck. Innocent until proven guilty is still the law.

Yeah when Mayweather is doing interviews and everything thats his "money mayweather" persona. It's like a character in wrestling, and he relishes in being the villain but outside of that in person he isn't that kind of prick. personally I'd rather a guy that's billed as the bad guy and act cocky to hype fights and in interviews and outside the ring and away from the cameras be a nice guy, rather then someone that acts like and is billed as a nice guy in interviews but outside of the ring and away from the cameras is a prick.
