The fight has been put back to September 2016 to allow McDermott time to get in shape for the bout.
Maloney won the purse bid mate Mcdermotts promoter who has a contract with sky, ITV have only got a deal with Furys promoter Hennesey so yes it will be on Sky unfortunatly.
On another note when does the Hennesey deal run out, as ITV are not renewing it which is a shame .
Its a 3 round Job ;D
I reckon Fury can do him in one. Fat John's arsehole will go the minute the punches start raining in.
ITV are with boxing until the end of the year apparently
Fenster just trying to be Kind ;D
I watched "Fat" John McDermott when he fought Danny Williams in Sunderland and I can still remember his back fat wobbling when Danny gave him a dig in the ribs. It's an enduring image, let me tell you.
"Fat" John has always been very weak mentally (i don't actually know him, and certainly wouldn't say it to his face mind ;D)
He will be shitting himself before the fight and a fast puncher like Fury, who will come out firing, has to be the fat mans worst nightmare.
John was stopped in the opening seconds by Skelton and has only got fatter since. Fury will try and do a similar job and if he doesnt I can imagine it becoming an embarrassing spectacle.
I was looking forward to this fight but all of you have killed off the interest I had in it. You all think it will be a walk over. :)
LMFAO
big john always enters the ring looking like his just comeback from nandos. Sad really when you think an untrained lump like that is actually one of britains top 10 heavyweights.
Im assuming fury has left hennessy and joined maloney or someone of that sort if he is now a sky boy. Big step up for fury and for the 1st time in his career he will get punched by a puncher. Got a horrible feeling tyson may just take a unanimous decision rather than trade with a guy who`s got much more behind his jab.
Hope im wrong though and fury finally shows what all the hype has been about!!
Fury v Chisora before the years out please!
A good test for Fury at this stage of his carrer.
Im sure ITV4 have got this fight, after all Tyson Fury has been on ITV4 since the start of his unbeaten career.Tyson Fury has stated in the nationalized paper today that he aims to KO McDermott within 6 rounds. If Tyson does cut McDermott down and does it in good old fashion i will be very impressed.McDermott is a chunky fighter but a great test for Fury at this stage of his career.Im looking forward to this fight,it could be a real test for Fury!
I doubt this will be a walkover like some are suggesting. I'd say Fury stops him late, or wins a UD in a stinker.
Was thinking of subscribing to Sky to watch this fight as I definitely will for the Mayweather v JMM a few weeks later, but I think I will not bother as you guys have put me off. I have all of Tyson's fights courtesy of ITV so this will be the first that I have missed.
Tyson Fraud beats the Sam Peter wannnabe with ease.
This is a great test for Tyson who has only been pro 9 month and lets not forget only aged 21 i like Tyson.
This is another fat dude for Fury to add to his list. Just that this guy won't have as much back hair as some of his other opponents so don't know how he'll deal with that. ha..... If Fury doesn't manage to wn in good fashion, then there is something wrong IMO....
Any Live Streams for this fight? Its on Sky Sports2,and i aint got it:eek:
Me not Happy,i dont have Sky Sports2,i just have Sky Sports1 instead.I've watched all of Tyson Furys pro fights and i reckon this is a really good test for him and im itching to watch it.

98-92 wtf :o thats shocking.
Please Tell Me,all That Seen This Fight, that Tyson Fury Lost By A Fair Points Margin??cos Thats The Fight I've Just Witnessed With My Own Eyes.how The Hell Did Terr O'connor Gave It 98-92 To Tyson Fury!!!fury Was Totally Drained And Out Worked For At Least 4-5 Rounds!!!i Feel Sick, its A Big Fooking Con And I Feel Soo Fooking Sorry For Mc Dermott,he Is The True Winner.
GOBSMACKED
I did, had it the other way by 3rds. Im stunned Thought Fury would do Him early, How wrong can you be
As in the other thread...
A strange decision by the ref in terms of margin, maybe full stop. I thought McDermott did more than enough, yet on my scorecard i had Fury's last round edging him infront. Really can't explain why.
McDermott's an awful fighter, always holding, spoliing, grapling, he's a doorman, a clubber, nothing more, but he made Fury look ordinary, and wobbled him three or four times, too.
Those writing Fury off after this performance, however, are extremely naive, but, i must say, those bigging him up as a title contender, even just at domestic level, at this point in his career are too. He's not ready yet. He'll eventually knock all these clubbers out, but he's jumped up too fast.
For all McDermott's faults (and his build perhaps makes him look worse than he is, as the commentators alluded to) there's a difference between knocking out some Latvian/Polish/whatever journeyman in three and then going into a 10-rounder against a proven opponent.
Get Fury in with some guys who are durable and might take him the distance, who can test him but perhaps not as much as McDermott did tonight. He needs experience of going 8 & 10 rounds, it should be a case of building that up, not learning on the job with a title to defend. Tyson's time for a British title should've been a year from now. Too much, too soon.
Saying all this, to award him the win by so many rounds is scandalous. The powers-that-be should really be looking into it. If it would have been by a round there'd still be questions, by SIX, that is absolutely absurd.
Rematch please, ideally on the delayed Rogan/Sexton card. Four good fighters there who could all beat eachother. Going against my above statements, sure, but i think Fury owes him it.
Thankfully I did not subscribe to Sky yet to watch this fight. I take it that Tyson Fury has been found out and will never achieve world class domination?
I'm sort of with the new boy tatlock on this one, I had Fury's last two rounds, which saw him really digging deep and hitting some massive shots on McDermott bringing him back to a draw, but I can see no argument whatsoever for the scores of 98-92 that Terry O'Connor had.
Fury got a huge test there, and McDermott showed that he's a lot more confident after his performances against Williams. After the Williams decision and this one, you have to feel sorry for the guy.
