Pacquiao by stoppage. Too much speed.
I just have to think its cotto, and quite comfortably.
I'm still not convinced by Manny's weight jumping as i don't think there is much to be gleaned from the DLH and Hatton victories. Also, personally, I half forget about Cotto- Margherito fight. Cotto is a bull of a man, but he is not ponderous, he will catch Manny sooner rather than later. However i should also say that if Pacquaio wins, then surely all avenues of doubt surroundung him should be closed permanately.
Pac's movement is going to befuddle (real word?) Cotto. I think he will win by quite a wide margin. I really like Cotto, but don't think he will be able to move with PAC.
Strange how just a few of years ago if you even mentioned a Cotto-Pac fight you would have been laughed at but now its happening and Pac is the favorate.
Depends which Cotto comes to the fight:
Cotto 1. He keeps his hands up, fights aggressively, and goes to the body (somewhat like he did before the Margo loss). Early in Pacquiao's career, he was dropped by a single bodyshot from a nobody. No amount of training will cover up a weakness that great. If Cotto can capitilize by going to the body (and he sure can) he might actually shock the world with a KO of PAC. He just needs to keep his defense tight and counter. Unlike Hatton, this Cotto will not charge hands at the hips. I suspect Cotto #1 to win by KO in rounds 8-9.
Cotto 2. This is the Cotto that most recently fought Clottey. This Cotto gasses easier and prefers a slower paced fight. He is still strong but almost sluggish. This Cotto is doomed to lose by UD or even KO. The lightning-fast Pacman races circles around him all-night long with that almost limitless gas tank of his. I might even go so far as to call this a PAC domination. Speed Kills.
It depends which Cotto shows up.
I dont think you can judge cotto on his last match with the big cut he had. He had no choice but to be cautious and stop that cut opening further. However I dont think he has been the same after his defeat against Margarito. Mainly I would say the deciding factor will be Freddy Roach. He always has the best training regime and tactics on the night.
Cotto on the other hand has had all that trouble with his uncle which will also make a difference.
I think Pac will win as i think Cotto's chin wont be able to withstand Pacs power.
Pac KO 6-8 round.
I'm going with the underdog here. Even though Pac has shown he can put on weight well, we haven't seen him take a welterweight punch. I think Cotto has enough speed to stay in it and enough power to make it interesting down the stretch. We also have to see if cutting weight will mke Cotto gas earlier than usual. I like both fighters and usually wouldn't bet against either one but I'm guessin Cotto by SD.
Pac in 7
I wouldn't mind if this fight goes the distance, but I think Pacquiao will win this.
I'm just curious, sure Pacquiao has speed, but what makes you think that he'll do better than Mosley?
I honestly wouldn't like to say. I think its foolish to write off Cotto however who has never been an easy night's work for any man.
Manny struggled to get by super featherweight J M Marquez only a couple years ago so is not exactly the unstoppable force he's been built up to be.
Cotto is a great fighter and could easily prove to be too big and too strong for Manny.
I just hope whoever wins that they get the respect they deserve from the fans.
Who i think will win Pac. Who i want to win Cotto :(
Who Me? :-)
I think Mosley although he has more speed and more skill in some areas than Cotto; deals with things in very straight lines.
Manny is all over the shop and theres more angles occuring and more power with the added movment.(although he could get it turned around on him and caught side on with a good temple shot one day)
Cottos tighter and turns and fights well from out of his style and it could work better ;but for my thinking its more like a set brickwall against a wrecking ball that has more angles and more speed so it will take its toll further on the mid rounds.
Pac is not just fast. He's a volume puncher. He packs real power and fires in many angles. I think he will win, but it aint gonna be a cake walk.
PAC by stoppage. The ref waves his arms without completing the 10-count, while Cotto lies flat on his back.
Cotto has the tendency to get lazy in the ring
Pac will exploit the moment and explode
Pac wins TKO 7th
Wanting Cotto to win,but dont see it.I don't think Pacquiao will drop Cotto but will cut him up very badly.Cotto still backs to the ropes and gives up his height, slides there and squats but he will return more fight in a few rounds than Manny has faced in the last 18+ rounds combined.
Seems to me that Cotto is very motivated for this fight while Manny, his people, and his fans are overconfident, with the gall to say that Manny will KO Cotto. I mean, Manny is not even in the ring yet, choosing to honor his commitments first. I believe Manny can win, but it will be by decision by staying out of Cotto's range and counterpunching. But there is no way Manny will KO Cotto. Strong welterweights could not do it and one, with loaded wraps (check out Margo's hands after the fight with Cotto) could not lay him out. And Cotto has a lot of heart and mental toughness. No way I see a total destruction by Manny.
It's funny how suddenly people are writing Cotto off after loosing to Margarito (I do believe he cheated because definitely Mosley was not his first) and the fight with Clottey (after that enormous cut in the 3rd round taking his left eye vision for most of the fight getting hit hard and still win (barely))
Cotto has become to some Ricky Hatton. Cotto would have beaten RH at 140 and kill him at 147. Cotto has boxing skills good chin at 147 (he took plaster shots and Clotteys shots).
So to say he will loose by Ko or trying to think he will go out like Ricky in a 1 KO punch think again, because if you do your probably a hater, not very good boxing knowlegable or just a kid who barely knows any boxer aside from Manny Pac.
About Pac I just can't say nothing but that he is the man right now but he is not facing Hatton, Oscar or Diaz. IF he does think Cotto is close to any of them he hast to re-think his gameplan.
First of all, to discount Cotto's speed and power is akin to imprudence and bordering on ludicrousness. Pacquaio can not afford to be haughty against Cotto. We have witnessed how Cotto dealt with Mosley and we know he can handle speed very well.
Last year, this fight would have been called preposterous and anybody who would think that Pac has a chance is a lunatic and a hopeless nuthugger.
Pac will have his most difficult fight against Cotto and my mind says Cotto has a 60% chance of winning however, unlike my prior disposition when PAc fought DLH, I shall go with my boy this time.
If Pac comes fully prepared (hope he's not busy with his commercials, tv guestings and gambling),he will win a UD or a late TKO.
Hoping against my erudite analysis, PAC wins after the 7th round.
Andre, CFH, Spade, Manuel...

Pacman wins due to the fight being stopped on cuts. Pacman by TKO around 8th round.
This fight is very dangerous for the very, very brave Cotto. It is to my mind a potential disaster to both, but moreso to Miguel.
I hope in this duel, common sense will prevail, and a misplaced valor shall remain unhinged.
I'd rather, that the result of this fight would be a "Dela Hoya", than that of a "Kim Duk Koo"!
I would look forward to the very best referee getting his services tapped for this mega fight come November 15th. It is a necessity for having two, no-quit warriors combating, and battering each other out on fight night. It is necessary to have a complete handle in the officiating of this fight, needless to say... Maybe a "Meeks"?
Submission in boxing, anyone?
im going with pac just based on how theyve both looked in there last few fights
My prediction = Cotto stops him with bodyshots!!
I'm taking Cotto in this one. I like them both. Maybe to go against the grain a bit, but also, Pac's rise thru the weight classes has gone real smooth, almost too smooth and is due for a stumble. Cotto is a person who can force that to happen. He needs to be better then his last several outtings, and pac to be worse. Not beyond the realm of possibility. Is just how the boxing world works sometimes, and that's how I'm calling it.
Cotto late KO/TKO.
I'm all for Cotto and here is why.

If Pac beats Cotto he will get a LOT of credit from me.
lot ifs and buts their blood?
pre-margarito i would of had cotto to absoloute annihilate pacquiao at every weight imaginable. But the guy clearly isnt the same fighter he once was and now has that fragile sense of feeling around him that if you stick it to him you really can genuinely do some damage.
Roach has once again called this to perfection. Miguel is there for the taking if you ask me
If's and but's every time 2 fighters step in the ring.
We forever are rationalizing who we think is going to win, and sometimes we are right, sometimes we are not. We can safely say not many of us even gave Pac a chance against Cotto over a year ago. Yet here we are, the most of us suggesting otherwise.
I don't think Cotto winning would be the best thing for boxing. Pac has stronger drawing power, and the potential for a PAC/PBF fight would be huge, and this could screw that up if he lost. But I know this. Cotto is going in there with one goal. Hurt that man standing across from him. And if Pac stumbles any, he'll do that job.
This is going to be a great fight to watch for me so long as it's a good fight. And I'll prob be a little disappointed no matter who the winner is.
yeah i see your point, cotto is always going to have a good chance against someone as attack minded as pacquiao
Just think miguel is tailor made for pac now. Dont expect the demolition jobs he did on ricky and oscar for 1 second, but i do believe he`ll probably just be too quick for cotto to handle
i like both fighters, however i cannot help but think Cotto wins this he is a better allround boxer then RH and is not shot like ODH he handles speed fairly well as in SSM (although i do think there are 2 version of SSM as well). i just think this a weight to far for PAC although IF and its a big IF from my point of view: he does beat Cotto then he will get a load of respect from the whole boxing world. cant wait for this one;D
Check out the bold quote first...
Did you knew that was last Cotto's fight at 140 try to get a picture of Cotto vs Malignaggi weight in pictures, Cotto lookes like a zombi or a drug adict.
He was weight drain no matter how much you put fight nigh going that low the day before takes a lot from fighters. Or do you actually think that Pauli will be compettitive vs Cotto at 147? think first dude

So you guys thing Pac has the chin to handle Miguels shots, as well as the body?
Cotto is a very, very intelligent fighter with excellent timing and a great jab he couples with deceptive handspeed.. Going with Cotto, he has dealt with bigger fighters and a ton of adversity... I think he dosent get enough credit for cracking and denting Margaritos chin. That certainly made Moselys night easier.
People forget margarito got beaten up real bad too even though he won, Pac will get broken down as well
Pacman's my second favorite fighter to watch at this moment (behind Cotto of course). But I have a problem with the comment "Pac's rise thru the weight classes has gone real smooth." To me this is yes and no. From 135 and up, he has been very selective and hasn't fought the best (I'll give him Hatton, who was undefeated at 140). But Manny has ducked the best at 135 and at 147 de la Hoya was the number 1 pay per view draw, but not the top welterweight by far. Plus there is the weight demands. Now, Manny will be fighting the first or second best welter at the moment, so a victory for Manny will be impressive, especially if it's as dominant as the others have been recently.
