Bullshit, paulie won the fight... i had it 115=113
Not good for boxing. Texas is beginning to have a stench about it when it comes to boxing. :pissing:
I am a hispanic guy from texas. A pretty big Diaz fan but that was bullshit. I felt Paulie won the fight by 1 round. 118-110 is bullshit and just proves what Malagnagi said was true. We shook our head over here and are dissapointed in what took place here. :-\
Man come on.... But I'm glad paulie went off about it after the fight. what really made it suck was Kellerman trying to justify the bullshit...
im so fucking pissed off about this fight. I love Paulie and he faught his heart out. I really felt for him I had him up by 2 points and knew the damn judges would rob him. I think its bs how the best fighters cant get a fair shake or even a shot to fight the big names like Floyd Gayweather. Everyone knows Paulie Malignagii and Paul williams would crush him, but they'd never even get a shot to fight him. So gayyy
I had it 115-113 Diaz, but that score was a complete joke. I really don't know why we're surprised as boxing fans though, this shit happens all the time; it has happened before and it will happen again until the sport finally destroys itself entirely.
Here's the Texas judge being interviewed. Hot off the press, "How sir do you justify that scoring?"

Funny how Paulie bitched about Caiz but he was the one with the right score, or at least in Paulie's eyes the least crappy score.
i had Malignaggi winning 7 to 5, so that said there is not fucking way it could be 118-110, if you seriously think that a score like that is ok, then you're seriously blind, didn't Caiz score it 116-112? that itself is a stretch, i don't think Diaz could have gotten anymore than 116-113, when it comes to boxing Houston is full of shit, first John got screwed against Juarez and now this, fuck that
Caiz had it 115-113 I think.
And I don't think you meant me but no I don't think 118-110 was a good score.
It's just very discouraging and disappointing really. And no, it isn't just Texas.
No idea how many times I sat here with others in the last year, with everyone in complete agreement going, "WTF was that, rigged!!" I just know it was wayyyy too many.
This was a close fight, and there were some rounds that could have gone either way. I wouldn't of had a problem with a draw, or 115-113 in favor of either guy, but 118-110 is complete bull$hit.
I don't like Paulie, but even I don't hate him enough to give him that kind of score.
diaz won that fight
u cant win a fight by doing nothing but jabbing if u are among the weakest punchers in the divison AND u get hit with power punches way too often
anyway, gale van hoye isnt being corrupt cuz hes from texas
van hoye has never been a good judge, not that i even disagree with that score
I completely agree with Malignaggi he had all the reason wo went off like he did in the interview.
And the sad part is what Kellerman said at the end, le me see if I can look it up in the Tube
I found this one: Well said Paul " Boxing is full of shit..."
YouTube - Paulie Malignaggi gets robbed against Juan Diaz - Interview and Classic Rant
Holy fuck, Sal makes an appearance. I thought you were dead or in jail.
This result was no robbery or a total outrage.Contrast in style and delivery and Pov.You will always get this when one goes back and one comes forward...no matter the 'effective aggressiveness' or 'ring generalship'.He knew the deal going in and fought like he wanted to say "See,I told ya" at the end...Paulie should consider a team sport if its others he wants to blame.
The judges were terrible. One of the scores for Jacobs-Smith was ridiculous too. As for Diaz winning, it was a close fight that could have gone either way. Paulie has had a couple lucky breaks in close fights in the past so I dont really feel bad for him to be honest.
Obviously Paulie is P4P and his career has been ruined by buddy mcgirt and bad judging. I mean fine Cotto whipped his ass but that happens to most ppl that cotto fights. The hatton fight was buddies fault. I'm happy that the real Paulie is back. If he had just a little more Pop he'd be a top 5 P4p fighter, but as it is, he's top 15 or so. Hopefully he'll get a shot to expose Bradley or devon alexander.
I have him at 11, of course he wasn't there before tonight, somebody had to be bumped

Fightnews poll has Malignaggi winning the fight overwhelmingly, Diaz only has 19 percent of the vote...
And the thing is Malignaggi said this before the fight you'd think if he said you were gonna be biased the least thing you'd wanna do is prove him right lol
texas maybe at fault but i mainly blame this fiasco on the fight promoter gbp. juan diaz a gbp boy too.
It was a close fight & could have gone either way, I had Paulie ahead. But that score is just crazy!!! How the f*ck do these judges get away with this sh*t? Any other job I know of; if you f*ck up big (like this) you get warnings, written, verbal etc then eventually fired, but these chumps keep getting away with it over & over & nothing seems to happen
i had diaz 115-113 im not surprise about the 118 score buts it a golden boy fighter in golden boy promotions in his city its likely malignaggi wasnt gonna win like both fighters hopefully malignaggi get i fight thats means something to his career
The Great State of Texas should apologize to Mr. Malignaggi. Makes the state, HBO, and boxing look bad bad bad. Just for the book I pulled for DIAZ but he sure got the *&^% beat out of him last night. All of you who have it close are from Texas, HBO, or Golden Flow! Even HBO was in on this one... I am glad winners are decided by the market these days according to HBO - crap I thought it was about the fighters... Just have to know your market I guess! This kind of crap is OK for Washington but for Boxing? I say NO - this one need to be investigated and turned around.
EDC-
I sent email to the Texas License Board regarding the blatant judging of the Diaz vs Malignaggi bout. It was a miscarriage of justice...so much so, that I joined this forum and stepped up to the plate for Mr.Malignaggi, and I am a Native Texan living in Texas. Most Texans root for the home team, but this was a slap in the face to every Boxing fan around the World. Texas Politics beat Mr. Malignaggi, NOT Mr Diaz. Am glad Mr. Malignaggi said something after the fight, and though I do not agree with the foul language, he was correct in his assessment. A Texan who agrees 100% with a non-Texan, who was fighting someone who lives in Texas? WOW! GB has tarnished the sport and already had the other fight lined-up before this one was done...money talks. Most fighters indicate their team will be making decisions, but Mr Diaz already indicated who he wanted to fight, as if it had also been "set-up" with contracts signed. I am merely a middle-aged woman who likes to see the fellows mix-it-up in the ring, as far back as the Mr. Ali days. This is the first time I've taken any steps to protest the outcome of a match, which means I obviously feel strongly against people being robbed in my State. To further apologize to Mr.Malignaggi would not heal the wound created by the money-sucking monsters such as the GB and his judges. But not all of us in Texas are bad. My further protest will be to NOT purchase any GBP PPV, to allow MY money to be kept from the greedy claws of cheats.
i had paulie by two rounds but i wont argue one round. anyway, that fight was rigged from the very begining. a hometown fight with three hometown judges. the hometown fighters promoter runs the show. what else can go wrong? isnt a fight supposed to have 1 judge from each fighters hometown and one neutral judge?
I remember the song "Blind in Texas" the lone star is hot tonight by WASP
How a absolutely true
Had it 7 rounds to Paulie and 5 for Juan. Not a fan of either man but whoever saw it 118-110 should be pooped on to death:mad:
I wanna see Juan Diaz vs Vic Ortiz next, let's see if they'll rob the Vicious one.
It was a robbery and it was an awful decision. I'm not even a massive fan of Malignaggi, but thought he put up a fantastic performance and thoroughly deserved the win. I was worried going into the second half of the fight, but he put his boxing head on taught Diaz a lesson down the stretch with some of his best boxing in years. I'm glad Paulie was so vocal after the fight too, I really felt for the guy because it wasn't even that close IMO. Paulie had it by a good couple of rounds.
Diaz is another on my list of unlikeables with the establishment obviously having an agenda which will see him through to a big fight no matter what. And screw Max Kellerman with his horrible, horrible comments after the fight. I cannot stand that ignorant, gurning prat and here he only added to my ire. A fight is a fight and the fighter who wins the most rounds should get the decision. I don't see any way to try and justify it on any other grounds than that. Oh, but it's the market talking....or some empty yuck like that.
Kellerman, Golden Boy, the judges and Diaz can all rot. Horrible bunch of frauds with their fake smiles and handshakes behind closed doors. An awful result for anyone that loves boxing and another reason to care less about it.
Yeah that shit pissed me off....bhop fought on HBO for years and there's no way his style is more appealing than Paulie's. The crowd likes the flashy hand speed and combos. They (HBO) even pushed john fucking ruiz where i know there where several fights where "the market" could have been an excuse to take his WBA strap.
