Once again teddy sees a fight completely different to every other knowlegable fight fan watching.
119-108 for cloud is nothing more than a joke, every single week this guy gets away with terrible scoring whether it be at lightweight or light heavyweight, he seems to get it in his head that out and out aggression
wins a fight every time.
Im sitting here telling everyone who would listen it was 116-112 cloud and what the hell happens.......116-112 all round

Atlas was off. I had Woods winning a few of those rounds and a maybe one that could have gone either way. It wasn't an almost shutout. But Cloud was pretty good out there.
i had it 118-109 , so his score wasnt that horrible, but how did he score a round in which Bailey was down twice, 10-8 ?:confused:

You know I don't mind nearly all things about Atlas. But the one thing that really gets on my tits while your tryin to watch a fight, and he did it last night loads, is the excessive use of metaphors. He just speaks in riddles too much and I find it infuriatin. He has a metaphor for every possible angle you can take on a fight..... Who lets him talk like that.

I love Teddy Atlas, and like Preme says his book is outstanding.
I like Atlas and I find his metaphors entertaining. I can understand why people do not like him but personally I enjoy his insight into the game.
Maybe if you watched the fight on a actual TV instead of a crappy ass stream (:pointlol:) you'll see Woods only won 1 round.Quote:

I think Teddy is a amusing guy, the dude talks and talks and talks and it's all analogies that have nothing to do with boxing at all. Here are my own Atlasisms:
"Clinton Woods is an older model car and Tavoris Cloud is the newer model and what Cloud is going to want to do is be more fuel efficient and just maybe if he can cash in with his punches he can turn Woods into a clunker"

I agree, teddy must be a cloud nut hugger. How did he score the round 10-8 for Cloud when Clinton never went down and wasnt that seriously hurt. Yeah cloud buckled his knees but it wasnt like Woods was out on his feet.......

Boxing will ALWAYS have room for the highly opinionated, Teddy is no different than Bert Sugar or even that giant asshole Steve Bunce. We needs these guys around because we either want someone to agree with us or someone to laugh at when they make picks like Ray Austin over Wladimir Klitschko ;D
Teddy can be annoying but for the most part he's an ok guy.
Have to agree, the guy's funny, I don't necessarily want a commentator who thinks exactly like I do. Much prefer him to the likes of Kellerman or UK's Ian Darke who have zero boxing experience and get by with repeating others comments and stating the fucking obvious all the time.Quote:

Atlas bugs me because he repeats himself so much. I think he is a great trainer, but I could imagine how frustrating it would be to work with him.
He does give fighters rounds based on effective aggression. I don't think his scoring was that far off. Cloud always come through with the big shots except for round 2 in that fight. A lazy jabs doesn't score even if it lands on my punch track. And Woods was flicking a lot of fluff.
I really have no beef with Atlas. I've read his book and it is one of the better books I've read in the past few years. As for his scoring I gave Woods only two rounds and Cloud the rest. I really didn't see anything Woods did to win many rounds besides get hit. Atlas knows what he is talking about he may not be able to predict fight's but he sure knows what to tell his fighter's when he is working the corner.
I find Atlas' antics fucking hilarious. The guy is a mutton head for sure.
My favorite is how he accentuates random words in his sentences.
Like if the line was "And now hes coming back", an announcer will maybe accentuate back, saying it something like "and now he's coming BACK", to add to the excitement or whatever.
But what Teddy Atlas will do is say it like "and now HE'S coming back" or something like that.
Anyone else notice that? He does it all the time, and I LOL nearly every time.
I love ol Teddy. Seriously, i've got nothing but respect for the man. He is a decent guy that has no room for all the bullshit in boxing and doesn't hesitate to say so.
Also the whole Theodore Atlas foundation thing is fantastic too.
Great guy. Entertaining. guy. Good for the sport.

i also like boxers doing the commentating. Roy Jones Jr., Bernard Hopkins, BJ Flores(i think he may have a better career as a boxing analyst) etc. are all very very good. Lewis needs work.

I don't think he was biased against Woods, just that he was watching Cloud more, not because he's American, just because Cloud probably impressed him more in the opening round.
He also doesn't shy away from calling something bullshit, I'd say he's still one of the best analysts around, although I rate Farhood & Kellerman higher. Jones, Hopkins & Nate Campbell are also pretty good analysts.
Teddy has superior ring knowlege, he really knows boxing and what a fighter needs to do to win. He breaks everything down well and lays out the right gameplans. But, he is a terrible judge. After the whole Urango-Ngougjo 10-8 round where Ngoudjo was down twice, I stopped paying much attention to his scorecard. Sometimes he lets his emotions and ego get the best of him, but he is one of my favorite non-boxer personalities in the sport. Him and Manny Stewart.

Kellerman is just plain shit when it comes to commentating on fights and his interviews are annoying as fukk.
