Who are you and what have you done with the real sky sports.
Sky Sports is showing Mayweather vs Marquez for free. What has happened to them. You usually only get crap fights that no one cares about unless its pay per view.
Will Sky Sports be getting more interesting fights from around the world or is this just a random occurrence.

Re: Who are you and what have you done with the real sky sports.
bloody hell i might have to subscribe

Re: Who are you and what have you done with the real sky sports.
Why is it as soon as you get rid of SKY they start doing shit like this? Grrrrrrrrrr
-
Re: Who are you and what have you done with the real sky sports.
I'm not too suprised. Before Hatton became massive box office, they used to show pretty decent fights for free. Hopkins vs Winky Wright and Mayweather vs DLH were on Sky Sports, as I recall.

Re: Who are you and what have you done with the real sky sports.
I had planned to subscribe to watch this fight and the Haye and Manny Pac fights as well. They are thieving gits but with no setanta they have us by the short and curlys. :)

The demise of Setanta has left me with withdrawl symptoms! Every Fri I turn to BN's Diary and 'Boxing on the box'! recently it consists of just ESPN classics:mad:
Any tips as to how to get more live fights are more than welcome (Friday night fights for example)

Exactly what I thought, so a very clever ploy by Sky to reel in more subscribers

Re: Who are you and what have you done with the real sky sports.
Mayweather vs De La Hoya was free as well
-
Re: Who are you and what have you done with the real sky sports.
Said to the misses the other day that I was not going to shell out 15 quid for the Mayweather fight but out of the blue we get it for free on sky sports1.
Booked the night off work to stay up and watch it.
RESULT!;D

The last fight sky showed as box office that wasn't headlined by a british fighter was De la hoya vs hopkins wasn't it?

defo not PPV as i watched a replay the same morning in a travel lodge

Re: Who are you and what have you done with the real sky sports.
They were originally going to PPV it as Matthew Hatton was on the undercard fighting Zab and they probably expected some Hatton fans to shell out. Now Hatton isn't fighting and the fight itself isn't making any waves they've bowed to reality and are showing it free (according to the thread starter anyway, has anybody got a linky?) I always thought it was a bit ambitious trying to get people to pay for it in the first place.

Yes it was free (although subscribing to Sky for £30ish a month is not entirely free).

Re: Who are you and what have you done with the real sky sports.
What a bonus!
I had been wondering what channel this would be on if any. Having a few friends back that night as well so guess we can all stay up and watch it.
Although I doubt they will share my enthusiasm
