Mayweather/Marquez 24/7 Episode 3
Re: Mayweather/Marquez 24/7 Episode 3
Cheers, Skel
Roger Mayweather telling everyone "you don't know shit about boxing" is still cracking me up ;D
Re: Mayweather/Marquez 24/7 Episode 3
The only thing I'm interested in seeing about Mayweather's is Floyd's real training not that anecdotal crap. They are claiming game plans do mean anything, then why the hell are they being secretive about training?
It's hard not to like Marquez except for the piss drinking which is a real turn off. It might even have more damage to his popularity than anyone might think.
Re: Mayweather/Marquez 24/7 Episode 3
The thing that shocked me most about the episode is that Roger Mayweather and Eddie Murphy are the same age. Roger looks 20 years older; not a good advertisment for crack!
Re: Mayweather/Marquez 24/7 Episode 3
Only look forward to watching the Marquez segments. The Mayweathers do and say exactly the same thing each time. Roger is good to laugh at the first few times, now he is properly tedious.

Because they are formulating some sort of plan. What they mean about it doesn't matter is that when the bell rings things change. What you expect your opponent to do may be the opposite of what he actually does. Then you have to make the right adjustments during the fight. This is what seperates the good from the great.

Roger Mayweather is a complete and utter mentalist. He comes across as a downright peculiar individual.

I agree. The Mayweather parts are stagnant. The whole "you have to take rogers boxing knowledge quiz" before leaving the gym is just like uhhhh?
Then they are giving Roger Mayweathers 4 year old son camera time. I can see 5 seconds or something, but a 4 minute segment? Really?
Only enjoy the Marquez parts myself too. But I still have to say the Mayweather-Marquez 24/7 is the weakest one I've seen.
Cotto-Pacquiao should be good :)

(metaphorically, retorical ) Why don't you just say what you mean and then there will be no confusion on what your saying.

Worse than Calzaghe-Jones
Hell, I still think it's better than ODLH-Pac which basically Oscar being a bit camp showing people his house & Manny trying to get some fat bastard to lose weight.
Meanwhile, Mayweather-Roach... I mean Hatton-Pacquiao was basically just watching the trainers... THE.. WHOLE... BLOODY... TIME
I don't think they've used Manny enough yet in the 24/7, hopefully the Cotto one will spend less time on Roach.

I agree. I find it interesting to see Marquez because his life and approach is somewhat new to me. The Mayweather stuff just leaves me cold. You know everything about that clan and they have nothing new to say. The Mayweathers are just so unlikeable as well. I have endured those parts just to watch Marquez. I don't think the piss drinking was such a cool idea though.

I completely forgot that they made one for Calzaghe-Jones. It was the only one I didn't watch of the series..still really surprised that was green-lighted by HBO.
I liked DLH-Pac. From what I remember of it..but I also really enjoyed the outside drama from that fight.
Still, in all the 24/7's it seems they always pull it out all the stops in the last 3 minutes of the 3rd episode. Cue dramatic music, slow-mo clips of the fighters with aerial shots of Vegas. That's a tried-and-true formula if I've seen one.
The end of the 3rd PBF-JMM one did it too. Not going to lie; it always gets me ;D
