Oh for God's sake
:vd:
Idiot.
 Floyd Sr. could discuss how to roast a chicken and it would be hilarious.
Anyway, I've said tons of times I wouldn't be surprised by anybody being on roids. Not that you should just go around and accusing people of doing it.
Like Ouma has said it wouldn't surprise me to learn of anybody doing it.
If you would be then I'd like to be the first to introduce you to 'professional sports'. Hi.
Mayweather just overheard Pac talking and got it wrong. What pac actually said, was "For my countrymen, I promise everyone illegal stereos."
http://www.examiner.com/x-10947-Indianapolis-Fight-Sports-Examiner~y2009m9d15-Floyd-Mayweather-Sr-accuses-Pacquiao-of-using-steroids
Got to be new.
We will definitely be hearing a response from Top Rank and Pacquiao's Lawyer's on this one. I won't be surprised if Mayweather Sr. comes out with an apology before he get's tagged with the Law suit.
Top Rank won't risk it because they drop a lawsuit here & Mayweather drops one on Arum for saying 'he shoots up cars', which with the police declaring no involvement on PBF's behalf, would amount to a far more substantial cash settlement. In terms of media law, they're as baseless as each other.
I think its a lot more likely that Floyd is doing drugs.
He a bit part player that wants to be the star of the show.:p
They know that if PBF wins saturday that Manny is in the future,,,,,Might as well do all they can to discredit Manny winning or giving PBF the fight of his life now......:-\
PBF will not face Pac. Maybe at ~154, but no way anywhere near his natural weight.
To be honest I don't think Pac has any interest in facing floyd. Sadly, Arum is right about a couple things.. Floyd fights are just not entertaining. Pac can prove so much more than Floyd. There are actualy "threats" in the LWW adn WW limit.
Everyone is stuck looking at one thing... Floyd is undefeated. That, by no means makes him the best fighter in the world. Shane Mosley, Cotto, Berto, would all whoop that butt.
Well, this is not even a case. Going by the interview Floyd Sr. didn't say Pac was on steroids. He said he "thinks" Pac is on some kind of supplement. Supplements aren't steroids. And as far as the steroid comment Floyd Sr. said even if Pac is on steroids... So that is not even accusing Pac of being on steroids. He just said even if Pac is on steroids he couldn't beat PBF. I think people are getting too Pac crazed nowadays. Many athletes have been accused of being on steroids and reason being is because many athletes are on steroids and it is no surprise if any athlete out there is on steroids in this day and age. Elite stars of boxing like Evander Holyfield, Roy Jones Jr., Fernando Vargas, James Toney, Shane Mosley and the list goes on have damning steroid evidence against them. Pac and PBF both could be on steroids and it should surprise no one. I personally know many amateur athletes on some kind of steroid. Whether people want to be naive or not steroids are rampant in sports. Athletes do many things to get that next edge. So the insinuations or outright accusations are going to be out there.
In this Maywether Sr's video it was edited and made clear his implication of Pacquiao being on Steroids (what ever you want to call it, he just danced around saying it straight out.) He went so far with his implication as to provide his expert opinion of someone's actions when their on it and "you know what that's about" (but I can't say it statement), adding a description of Pacquiao's aggression as a fighter being a result of "Roids" If it were not for the edited video, he would be in Law suit territory but because of the way it is edited Mayweather Sr. can claim his statements were taken out of context. I wouldn't be surprised if the video was reviewed by his Lawyers before it was ok'd for release.
He continues to loose respect in the boxing world.
(Now if the full video made the Internet....?)
He could be on them a lot of fighters could but 1 thing i will say is Pac went from P4P#2 to number 1 because Floyd retired but now Floyds back so if he wants to prove he deserves his number 1 spot fight the man who was the number 1. Lets put the differences aside for a minute and if they both come through there fights just get it on for the fans.
Bah, that's just another Mayweather's antics among the many already existing, :bobby::policeman: there is nothing to see here, carry on.
Thank you!
Floyd Mayweather Sr isn't as stupid as he sounds...and it wouldn't surprise me one bit either but as others have said, you can have your opinions but can't go pointing fingers without proof.
All I'll say is that it is hard jump from 105 to 140lbs of PURE muscle - If you guys can imagine 35lbs of pure muscle, it's a shocking amount. Imagine what 35lbs of chicken breasts or steaks would look like.
Couple that with the fact that Pacquaio's training schedule would never allow him to put on significant size due to the amount of calories he must be burning in training for a fight. It's just not really going to happen.
I can understand him filling out slightly since he began but not to the tune of 35lbs of extra muscle.
But hey, I may be wrong and he might be a genetic superfreak because I'd certainly never like to accuse anybody ;)
He probably wouldn't have had to have gained 35lb of pure muscle mind.
He's obviously but a lot of it on but some of the 'weight' he's moved up will just be from the fact that he doesn't have to dehydrate give or take about 10lb of fluids and sugars out of his body for the weigh in. :)
But yeah, like you said his training volume + his weight gain mean his body is definetly a very anabolic enviroment, and like you said this doesn't have to be from steroids. Though it wouldn't be surprising either.
What makes more sense for a fighter to be on Steroids?
A fighter coming from environment in the streets of Manila or a fighter who's Olympic environment is exposed to designer drugs where the competition is scored in the 1/1000 of a second.
a mans average weight at 5'6" tall is 140lbs. and as we become older we tend to gain weight. he is actually going to fight cotto over his optimal boxing weight.
we cant base roids use on pacs weight...
whats amazing about boxers though is that they often fight at a much much lower weight that they are suppose to.
see chart:
http://www.halls.md/on/MenWeightOther.gif
between 20 to 30 yrs old we jump up in weight, the diff with pac and other fighters of the same height is that pac cant take off the weight to fight at lower weights anymore. the way he fights he uses alot of energy and we already saw what happened to pac when he fought at a weight that is not suitable for him.
plus here in the philippines roids or any performance enhancing drugs are pretty uncommon. he fights with that same energy from the day he started till now. so what makes sr. think that pac uses it?
Sr. sells his flimsy opinions as cold facts. This is irresponsible and reprehensible.
Every now and then though, there still are buyers and takers of these opinions, as Sr. with a practised ease, can really still be very convincing to the uninitiated. That is surprising, as his statements have bombed over and over again.
That he can still find listeners to his outrageous statements, is a testament to the world still at wide and have not acquired the smarts yet for its doors to close on jesters, clowns, village idiots, and the like.
Sr. is a respected and an accomplished trainer in the game (despite his mouth) and tends to be in the limelight in the boxing world from training guys like Hatton, Oscar, and his son he should be a little more careful with these kind of accusations.
These accusations from a trainer of this caliber would be like Pat Riley accusing Lebron James of being on steroids or Bill Parcells accusing Tom Brady of being juiced and that their accomplishments are the result of it.
I'm no Pac fan and thinks that he got some guys at the right time, but I wouldn't stoop this low and I'm just a fight fan not an accomplished trainer with the credentials of Sr.
I'll state it another way. Who is more likely to use designer drugs that are undetectable in a substance test?
Someone who grew up in a third world country, or someone nurtured to compete in the Olympics?
It is far more likely for the accuser and his family to be associated with the type of drugs mentioned, than it is for the accused.
Where they grew up & how makes absolutely fuck all difference. I don't personally think that Pac does take steroids, but him growing up in a third world country doesn't in any way make him less likely to.
Someone could argue that growing up malnutritioned in the third world would encourage Pac to turn to steroids once he was out of that situation in order to make up for the nutritional deficiencies he suffered in his youth, whilst Mayweather had grown up in the sport naturally. However, that argument would be just as weak & spurious as yours.
We have a difference of opinion. I think your opinion is just short sided.
Environment makes a big difference when it comes to exposure and opportunity.
"It's not what you know, it's who you know."
First of all, you mean short-sighted not short-sided.
Secondly, you're right environment makes a big difference. But, it's not like Pac has been living on the streets of Manilla & training in a hut the past 7 or 8 years. He's been training out in Hollywood, he's one of the richest men in his country & he's promoted by arguably the most powerful promoter in boxing, Bob Arum. He's really not struggling for contacts if he were to want to take steroids.
Again, I don't believe he did it, but let's not act like the Phillipines is the most pure country in the world, whilst all in the US are corrupt cheating whores. It makes no difference where someone comes from, they're both in the same business & of similar profile.
Yes, I agree it is possible that Pacquiao could have done something but I don't believe it either. So I do get your point that Pacquiao presents outside the Philippines he could have been exposed to some substance.
Holy crap dude! What the hell you got against the Philippines? The Philippines is one of the most corrupt places I know, but the poor are really poor. They wouldn't know what the hell you are talking about when you said steroids let alone the more sophisticated designer drugs genetically engineered to avoid detection. That shit comes from developed worlds. And that is my point. It is "less likely" for Pacquiao to have come in contact with the stuff than Mayweather so if an argument is going to be made for for someone using the shit its a better premise for Mayweather than Pacquiao. And I'm not saying Mayweather Jr. does the shit either. And I'm not saying the US is a place of corrupt cheating whores, although some of the most successful ones are in the US. Except for Margacheato.
Again, you imagine someone is attacking the Philippines when they're not. I have nothing against the place, but the elite & wealthy (of which Pacquiao is now a part) will have just as much access to steroids as a sportsman in the US.
You're right the poor will not know what they are there, but Pac ain't poor no more. He's a multi-millionaire sports star. The poor in the US are unlikely to have spare cash lying around to buy steroids, so I don't understand why you're bringing up the underclass, which neither Floyd nor Manny are part of, at least not any more.
He's just as likely to have come into contact with them as Floyd, I don't think Mayweather Sr is talking about Pac's early boxing years when talking about steroids, more his recent rise through the weight classes. Unless you're gonna tell me Pac sleeps on the streets of a slum out of solidarity.
Brad Cooney of Mississippi Fight Sports Examiner writes...
It's one thing to hype up a fight and to talk some trash back and forth all in good fun, but to outright accuse someone of taking steroids without providing any facts, or proof is a completely different story. This writer would not be one bit surprised if team Pacquiao responds to these accusations with a heavy hand, very possibly with attorneys in order to get to the bottom of this. Something like this should not be handled with kids gloves, this was a very outlandish accusation that will more than likely be responded to very accordingly.
There is a scripture in the Bible where Jesus says, "Why do you look at the speck in your brother's eye, with never a thought for the plank in your own?" Perhaps Mr Mayweather Sr should look in the mirror and evaluate his life, and look at the behavior of his own family before slandering or defaming another human being.

The Mayweathers: Curly, Larry, and Moe, are trying to bring down Pac to enable them to catch up to his level!

Mayweather Sr better have facts to back up steroid accusation
I hope to Christ noboby strikes a match around Floyd Sr...that bitch's probably on the verge of internal combustion what with all the fuel for fires he'll be tottin' for junior's next match...provided he get's by my guy this weekend.
Actually...I'd like to retract my previous statement...somebody hit one of the pressers & strike a muh-fwockin-miz-atch!!!
Heh heh heh.
I think this accusation is all a mental thing. They want Mannys name to be liked with steroids so it will snowball into a contraversy. Manny has overcome a lot of adversity and is mentally very tough. They are trying to get an edge by disrupting Mannys career. Its also a Roach-Floyd Sr. rivalry thing. I dont think they should be worrying about mental warfare with Manny and Roach though because the Mayweather-Pacquiao only happens if they both win their fights and I dont see that happening for Pac.
And I think you're right, looking how it's started brewing here already.
I think taeth hit on in one of the other Pac/steroid threads when he pointed out pac isn't weighing in much more now than he did at fight night when he was at 130, just that he no longer has to cut the weight so comes in more fresh.
People are always going to talk. When you're at the top, like pacquiao, they will talk more. By the time Pacquiao gets into the ring with Cotto his career will probably be "tainted" by steroid rumors just cause of fan boy talk that gained momentum on forums
If we doubt it, which we probably all should considering, then don't post about it or talk about it, because it will only perpetuate the rumor.
