As much as I like Duran Duran (yeah I said I like Duran Duran) they had no business doing that cover

I much prefer David Bowie's version of "God only knows" to the insipid and annoying Beach Boys version. That might be an unpopular viewpoint though. The album that it's from is utter crap (the Bowie one) and I do actually quite like Pet Sounds all in all. But I do prefer the Bowie interpretation, he's a much better singer of this song.
First done by David Bowie

Then done better by Nirvana

Electric Six...is there anything they can't do???
....and probably without ripping a whole in the very fabric of space and time!
Even if they did disrupt the space-time continuum, I'm have absolute faith in their ability to put it back together.
I'd wager they could even mold David Haye into a unified heavyweight champion who would one day be regarded alongside Ali, Marciano, and Louis. That is how unshakable my faith in Electric 6 is.
Well I think Opeth's cover of Deep Purple's Soldier of Fortune was better than original. Machine Head's cover of Iron Maiden's Hallowed be thy Name is way better imo and Ministry did a killer version of Roadhouse Blues by Jeff Healey, I think Healey did it

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7vYixpbff9Y
Opeth is one of those bands that I feel like I should really like them, but for whatever reason I just can't get into them at all.
Iron Maiden sucks. I could record myself trying to replicate one of their songs with flatulence and it would sounds better than the original. And the Doors did Roadhouse Blues.
That's righ The Doors thank you; not sure why nvm it's because Healey did it in Roadhouse the movie.
I was never a Maiden fan at all but Bruce has a tremendous voice and Hallowed be thy NAme is a good jam dude. Opeth is a mood type band for alot of people; plus you don't seem to like those long songs they do; but S.O.F. is short and sweet give it a try.
I don't necessarily mind long songs, Pink Floyd is one of my all-time favorite bands. But I do find that if long songs aren't done just right that they get boring in a hurry. I assume S.O.F. is an album?
And how can you not like At the Gates? Slaughter of the Soul is a great album.
No S.O.F. was just me abbreviating the song I posted sorry; I just got through lifting and am tired lol.
Pink Floyd rules; watched the mvie the other night it never gets old lol.
I liked... oh fuck what was the songs name...I think it had the line "...an ocean of pain in you" in the chorus. That was an ok Opeth song.
Burden, yeah I remember you liked that song. It's a good one.

Dont worry this will get him back Fenster!
He loves Jethro Tull dont you Lyle :)
Listen to this and tell me it isnt a masterful remake of Bach's 'Suite in E Minor for Lute'.

Two very rare ones the writer Carl Perkins playing it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5bldveDe8iE
And very rare Ozzy and Sabbath doing it. Listen to Tony Immoni going off on lead.

Sorry Fenster, The Darkness rocked that song out ;)
Andre, no thank you, a lot of people like Ozzy and all but he shouldn't cover that. Jethro Tull is crap
The Animals version of House of the Rising Sun outdid the earlier Bob Dylan version by quite a bit.
Johnny Cash's version of Mercy Seat is amazing
