He's a scuzzy lil f!!!ker.Doing ribbon cuttings down here on the news lastyear and the dude looked like he should be pushing a shopping cart full of cans, tear drop and all.
Which reminds me, how the fuck you gonna call some shit "Hot Boyz"
WTF?
Fucken fags...
Can't fucking stand lil wayne or any of the other other autotuned, generic beated crap that seems to be taking over at the moment.
I didn't watch the OP vid, b/c I think lil' wayne was shit from the start and marketing that shit to little noobies living off their (mostly white/upper class) parents 150,000+ salaries from the start.
Just to keep saying using the word "start"...he started as a fake marketed money machine and still is one...so what's different??
His shit was shit to begin with. I get some tear drop tattoos and make elementary marketed kraft n cheese macaroni muzic and i'll be hot. Cause I'm a gangsta symbol. It's always been lame. And my ass that little bitch ever killed anyone, and even if he did that doesn't mean shit. Doesn't mean you are an artist. Much less a musician. Like he could play a fukin whistle.
Only in stoopid america invest in the next hype atm that you got that deal. blah blah blah.
and my last post should of been from 2 years back. that's the last time that person was relevant anyways. I guess I internalized that rant for a couple years. Probably ended some relationships for me in the mean time.
RAGE!
I understand why people hate him, he's definitely overrated, wildly overrated, by a certain sector of hip hop listeners. He's not the worst rapper ever, he's not completely garbage he does have a lot of good stuff you just have to get past a lot of not-good stuff.
I'm the Jay Z fan and Mick (foolishly) ranks him down there where he ranks Lil Wayne which is flat out wrong. Jay Z can go song for song with ANYBODY'S catalog literally anybody's he's an ATG no doubt.
Bit surprised Kingfrnk never stopped in here yet. He did stop in the Justin Timberlake thread tho and basically call him a queer. ;D
All recent rap is sh1te imo
Bring back the early 90s - The Chronic, Doggystyle, etc
What about marky mark and the funky bunch?
:-X
If you listen to hip-hop music you are either a white guy wanting to be black or just plain tone deaf
Lennon, Sinatra, Cobain = musical geniuses who set the standard for their own respective eras
"50 cent", "puff daddy" "2-pac" = make millions off of rhyming lyrics and adding them to already made classic soundtracks!!
American music is so far behind the rest of the world its almost ridiculous!
What a shock! hattonthehammer doesn't like something he perceives as being 'black culture', I never would of seen that coming from such a man of multi-cultural tastes
Btw, I assume by your statement that basically all non-white people who like rap are tone-deaf yeah? :p
Oh & as for US music being shit, 2 of the 'geniuses' (sorry those guys you mentioned are hardly great lyricists, if you'd at least dropped Bob Dylan or Bruce Springsteen I might give you some credit) are American. Well, at least you didn't try & proclaim the Gallaghers as some great musical geniuses, although I'm sure you believe it.
This. I do like Lil' Wayne's music, his mixtapes are ill, & even on his albums there's a few good tracks. The problem is his lyrics. Whilst he will drop a great bar, he basically just talks shit. There's never any continuity or storytelling, just some lines that are great on their own, but the whole package is weak. Oh & kissing Baby is just wrong. Disgraceful that he can do that & then get Lauren London pregnant. For those who don't know...

Considering the motherfucka looks like the offspring of a Rastafarian & some prehistoric rodent, him getting to pound that pussy REALLY pisses me off.
Also agree with Amat on Jay-Z. He just disappoints me that he never releases his best songs & leaves them on the album. Reasonable Doubt & The Blueprint are straight up classics, & I thought Roc La Familia was very underrated. Him, Nas, Eminem, Common & Lupe Fiasco are pretty much the only rappers actually dropping quality material right now.
One last thing, for the person who said Juvenile is better, well truthfully Wayne is better musically, & probably as a person seeing as Juvenile was a piece of shit enough that he went out clubbing the day of young daughter's funeral.
That was me Jaz...I'm not trying to rake on a man on how he deals with sorrow & not that Juvenile was 'better' than Lil' soupline...but that I like him better. The originator of 'Nawlins bounce and a tremendous lyricist with one of a kind style.....but Mystikal blows every single local guy out of the water as far as lyrics!!!....oh and that Wayne was a baggage handler for Juvi ;D
People have to many stereotypes with rap and hip hop and much of that nowadays is brought on by many of the self absorbed performers. And alot is just preference and personal opines...and some is a bit of embedded ignorance.Me,I listen to alot of all worlds, most generations...the drive home can go from Cockney rejects, bad brains to Goodie Mob and Hendrix in a fooking hurry!Live through music!
Hov straight up doesn't have a weak album. He doesn't, you can call Vol. 1 not a real sequel to Reasonable Doubt, that's fair and true but it's still a pretty great album. Kingdom Come same thing, OK even I wasn't that hot on it after the first listen but he was trying something a little different with minority report and beach chair and both of those songs grew on me and I now consider them favorites. Not typical Jay Z but I love both especially Minority Report.
Blueprint 3 was fucking sick. I don't agree that those are the only guys with hot albums, in fact I really wasn't so hot on Relapse at all and Lupe is too fuckn weird sometimes.
Jadakiss seriously went under the radar but The Last Kiss is second to only BP3 imo.
Saigon is NUTS, Saigon had hands down, no doubt the best BARS of 2009 so far.

'Rip open your chest and rhyme to your heartbeat'
I thought Blueprint 3 was a slightly above average album at best. Had a few good songs, I thought it was alright, but I preferred both Kingdom Come & American Gangster. I do think he has one weak album, I always thought Vol. 2 was just a really poor album, had maybe 1 or 2 good tunes.
I definitely rate Relapse higher, I think Beautiful is the best song of the year so far & Lupe's last album was the best body of the work by any artist in the past few years for me. He's lyrically going to places that no-one other than Nas would. Kanye was doing a bit till he went all weird on his last album.
Yeah, forgot about Jada, although I prefer Styles P, I think he goes way harder. I actually think Wale is alright still & Kid Cudi's album was impressive as an entire album, purely from a storytelling pov. Don't think Saigon has the hardest bars of the year though, I think Em on the Drake - Forever remix is for me right now.
There's also Raekwon who just released a great album Only Built For Cuban Linx II which stayed very true to the original. I do think Saigon is spitting the hardest right now and I just have never liked Em's subject matter and IDK, his last was very meh. I really could shoot myself next time I hear a song about his mom or daughter. I used to be a huge Joe Budden fan but after a while it's like you rap about your depression so much I think I have it now. I still like Budden but yeah. Kind of the same reason I got soured on Little Brother, too much complaining please don't link a cause to every song on my playlist, thanks. Maybe that's ignorant.
Kid Cudi I didn't listen to.
BPIII was fire, every single song is top notch on that one quotable after quotable. American Gangster there's an argument that's the best rap album of all time imo, Kingdom Come I definitely didn't prefer to Blueprint III.
Vol. 2 was sick! I like both Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 because he tried new sounds and gave different sounds. The diversity on both of those albums is great and really from a number of different perspectives that was a great album (Vol. 2.) A Week Ago, Hard Knock Life, Coming of Age 2 are all pretty much undisputable classics but also on that album Nigga What, Who is TERRIBLY underrated. You can go through Jigga's ENTIRE catalog and there isn't another song where he raps quite like that. Over the past few years the only thing I had bad to say about Jay Z is that he really doesn't change up his delivery anymore, this track was a classic example of how changing up deliveries prevent an album from going stale. This was a single, waaay overlooked much better imo then the Blueprint singles or lots of others for that matter.
Same thing with Resovoir Dogs which being a big LOX fan and a bigger Jay Z fan, this track was nice. Again it's overlooked because it doesn't have a hook, beat is a little stripped down but I still love this one, everyone goes hard on it biggest surprise Sauce actually rips it the best imo. Sauce is the highlight of the song. Another very underrated track. Money Aint A Thang - This could be added to the classics imo.
I think what soured people to this album was the same thing that used to take away from the Scarface albums, too many people on features. Even though none of the guys he got as features are really bad, it just makes it hard to call it Jay Z's best album when it's not all his. Still, there is definietly more then 1 or 2 tracks to listen to there, even if your not just listening for Hova.
This thread made me go on another Jay Z binge and I REALLY like BPIII more, I think the production is on point and obviously at this point in his career Jay Z isn't going to drop a single bad verse but damn!
Mick, don't you know that's straight hood? Dawg if you don't know that guys kissing guys is like the most thug thing ever then hell can't nobody help your ass :gayfight2:
I'm not a fan of rap (anything new at least), I don't like hip hop, I don't like that shit. You can call me whatever name you want to but Jay-Z is a no talent HACK....sure you guys might cry about it but it's the 100% truth
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mdpGdQtOzJo
The whole hip hop "culture" these days is just an excuse to act like a fucking fool and then play the race/culture card when people tell you that you need to actually WEAR your pants and not walk around with them dragging around your knees like you just ran out of the fucking bathroom.
