Popular things you don't see the fuss about...

For starters there are two television shows that I always always here people raving about, and I just honestly can't stand them... I've given both a chance over and over and I don't see the appeal...

They are "Scrubs" and "Seinfeld".... I can sit through the whole thing wanting it to do something for me and at the end all I can think of is the 30 minutes I just wasted... :confused:


I can bet at least one person is going to reply with "How can't you love Scrubs"? But even though intelligent people have recommended this show, I just don't get what's so good about it..

Oh and Family Guy... I'll probably get shot by people on here for that one.... American Dad is hilarious... absolutely hilarious... But Family Guy just totally misses the mark for me.. I watched 2 whole seasons of it and collectively the whole 2 seasons gave me less joy than a single episode of American Dad...



What things do nothing for you, and it seems you're the only one that doesn't get it...

I haven't seen Scrubs but I have seen a bit of Seinfeld and I wasn't particularly impressed. It's watchable enough, but not the kind of thing I watch for pleasure.

On the BBC entertainment channel they always show that ridiculous "Strictly come dancing" program for a good two hours every Friday evening. I sat and watched it for a good ten minutes last week whilst waiting for another programme and couldn't get my head around the thing at all. There is Bruce Forsyth looking much as he always has for the past half a century and all these muppets dancing around in shiny costumes. It was horrendous and I wondered who on earth watches this kind of rubbish. People dancing and some judge type people commenting on them? I just didn't get it and I refuse to ever watch another second whilst waiting for my own programme. Is that the best the BBC can do these days? It's no wonder Bilbo refuses to pay for his license. Shockingly bad.

What a saga. Both cases seem to have been running for ages.

Probably costs them more to send so much mail than get back what they say you owe in the first place.

I've seen Doctor Who....I'm surprised millions more haven't revolted against the BBC!

I do not understand the fun in any of those things, especially guitar hero. Why not just learn to play the actual guitar?

I am really not fond on Guitar Hero neither, didn't like it when it did get released, I tried it and didn't like it neither. Another thing I really don't like but that is quite popular in some part of the U.S is Nascar... I never got the buzz of it, it's like a very cheap version of formula one on an oval racing ring.... definitely, I don't get the excitement about it.

Guitar Hero, Amanda Peet, I don't know if she's popular necessarily but I've been waiting a while to say on here that I don't get the appeal of her, not for me,

texting, I do it cause everybody does it and I get texts but I don't really like it. I miss beepers, I don't like people constantly being able to get in touch with me.

The Sopranos. It was ok. Not the equal of the Wire, not even close.

first person shooter games. They're ok, some are better than ok but overall not my thing.

The Godfather trilogy. I get the fuss about it I guess but I never think hmm I want to watch the Godfather.

Cars. I like some and if I was just loaded I would have nice ones but they're not much of a priority for me, I just want something that doesn't cause me any fucking trouble, end of. I'm not sure "cars" is a popular thing but yeah I guess they are.

I like Scrubs. They try too hard sometimes. Seinfeld was ok.

Isnt that strange, I like family guy and also Sienfeld too there isnt much stuff out there that I dont get, but American dad is definatley one of them. (Im going to have to give it another go, are there episodes? Is there an all time great one?). I know why some people dont like some stuff; My wife just sits there stareing at the screen with not so much as a smile when Im watching 2 1/2 men,which is above average for humour, but she hates players so shes biased and it wrecks it for her,Instead of just sitting back letting it go shes judging Sheen the whole time who she hates.

To be honest and this wont be popular; I dont get how anyone can live their whole life for any sport or game or to be a fan of someone else or one band at the expense of the rest of what life offers.

How can I get the most for me in as quick a time as possible? When you have most of the worlds elite operating on this premise you have a basic recipe for species extinction.

Indeed I do not think Big H has dropped the ball either.. he has impeccable taste in women and I agree that Angelina Jolie I honestly wouldn't rate higher than a 5 out of 10.... All I can think is the world "Alien"..



With American Dad, I wasn't to much of a fan except when the Alien Roger comes more into play in later Seasons he is really the funniest part of the whole show... without him I wouldn't like it, and in the first season or 2 they don't do much with him, but after that he's brilliant..


2 1/2 men is one of my favourite shows... I get the judging thing.... My girlfriend won't tolerate certain shows because she has a belief about what a certain person is like..... Like she heard some rumor about an actor that she used to like, and now she hates him and can't tolerate watching anything with them in it... wish I could remember which actor it was.. and it was a pretty mundane thing too that I didn't even consider bad, but she'll be blinded by that thing..

It's the same the world over really. The wealth is in the hands of a tiny minority and it's getting harder and harder to get ahead.

I look at the current U.S. healthcare situation as a prime example of greed getting in the way of a basic sense of humanity. The health industry lobbying politicians and plying them with money just to stop people having the opportunity of getting the care they need and deserve. And you get idiots like Sarah Palin wittering on about death panels or some such nonsense. The health care industry is greedy...the politicians are greedy...who suffers? Only the vast bulk of the population without a choice and at the whim of faceless corporations that really don't give a shit just as long as profits are maximised.

TORRENTS!!! HORRIBLE THINGS... The only benefit of them is sometimes they have stuff that you can't find elsewhere, but those things will only have one or two people sharing them and they will be slow as f'k that means.. Most ISP's in Australia count uploads towards a monthly download limit so you pay for others to download stuff from you... The content isn't always safe, meaning you think your downloading one thing but it ends up being something else that no one has bothered to rename or delete etc..... It's dumb having to run the torrent program, it's unreliable, and so many dodgy websites that have B'S torrent links...
Quite frankly WORRRRST internet invention to EVER take off...

I have a Rapidshare account and a download manager/accelerator, and I can find ANYYYYTHING that I want, Direct download, and it's at super speed from the first byte to the last.... Why would anyone choose anything different??!!

Plus all the great porn sites use rapidshare.. I mean come on if the porn industry uses it as it's main choice for content distribution, it must be class!

Reality shows the whole lot of em. I mean when I watch tv I want to be amused or even educated (history channel).All you get on reality tv is a bunch of punks bitching or bickering about something, granted one time they might be doing the bitching in la (the hills) and the other one might be disguised as a survival show but it really is just a bitchfest in the jungle (survivor). Anytime I go over to my friends house his wife will have that shit on and I'm like "and yet I'm stupid cause I have no plans of getting married anytime soon"...the i phone, or google phone or whatever, yeah it's got aps or internet access or whatever, when the fuck have you found yourself out and been like "fuck I really need some internet right now" most likely would just be to wank one out anyways. This is not to those business types who need em to do business, however they're still douches. xbox360/ps3 wow it's got better graphics...that's just 3 things a whole lot more there tho,lol. As for scrubs,I love it, seinfeld is good too.
