Apparently it's JMM vs Katsidis

Re: Apparently it's JMM vs Katsidis
doubtful until we see anything from JMM's side, they want Hatton.
-
Re: Apparently it's JMM vs Katsidis
Dont believe it for a second
Katsidis has already been beaten by 2 guys marquez made short work of
What with hatton, cotto, pacquiao, valero all in the running juan isnt for a million years going to consider a tune up fight at 35

I disagree with "short work of" For me it was dead even in the Casamoyer and Diaz fights against Marquez until the KO's

Re: Apparently it's JMM vs Katsidis
JMM will be waiting a LONG time for Hatton. Unless you mean Magic Mathew!!! The one and only!!!

So... anyway... I see JMM Katsidis as a GREAT matchup even if JMM beat both of those opponents to whom Kats has losses.
But seriously, Mr. HattontheHammer, were you watching the fights? No way in a cold day in hell you could think JMM wiped the floor with Diaz and Casamayor. TKO, yes.. but he had to pull out those wins from a place most fighters can't win from.
Just as Casa had to pull the win over Katsidis out of his ass.
I don't see this as a tune up. Kats is a real contender and a tough cookie. Hatton is going to win his next fight at cruiserweight and retire.

yeah but when your talking about knockouts it dont really matter is it
If you knock your opponent out in 12rounds that should really be an open and shut case, unless its a complete classic of course that leaves the punters wanting more.
There isnt a market for this. JMM is way past the katsidis of this world and as already said is too far into his career to be taken 12 weeks of training for a guy he should be able to beat in his sleep!

Re: Apparently it's JMM vs Katsidis
Yeah , I agree this isn't the best fight to make, but it does make a difference if a fighter is ko'd and is being dominated- thats easy work. If a fighter loses a close fight which ends in a ko its a bit different, Anyways , like said befor Jmm vvs Hatton would be a great one to watch, or JMM vs Valero, or make a tournament between JMM , Hatton, Katsidis and Valero. ;D

hatton fighting requires at the very least a payout of 8 figures
Only JMM would be able to manage that

Re: Apparently it's JMM vs Katsidis
Marquez last 6 opponents have been Floyd Mayweather, Juan Diaz, Joel Casamayor, Manny Pacquiao, Rocky Juarez and Marco Antonio Barrera. That's 4 Hall of Famers. A former Lightweight champion. And a former Olympian. Marquez is way due for an easy fight. I have no problem with either a Katsidis or Hatton fight. Marquez has earned himself a gimmie

Yep, and indeed, Kastidis is always entertaining to watch, I am sure it would be all fireworks from beginning to the end.

umm Rahman Vs. Lewis, the perfect example to discredit what you just said

Re: Apparently it's JMM vs Katsidis
Katsidis would be a good fight to watch, I have no issues with it. Marquez is just coming off a shut out loss, he should fight whoever he wants in those circumstances and Katsidis is a fair choice.
-
Re: Apparently it's JMM vs Katsidis
:o please no...dont do this to katsidis, JMM will ruin him.

You can't test that resume. I think the Mayweather fight was about how good PBF was, not how Marquez being shot. I'd like to see him go up to 140, I reckon he takes Khan or Alexander, & would probably get a shutout over Urango. Would like to see him be the first Mexican champ at 4 weights, as for me he's the best of the recent bunch.
I wouldn't call Katsidis a gimme though ;)

You missed what I was implying. I think Marquez will have him out of there in 7.

Re: Apparently it's JMM vs Katsidis
He's his mandatory now no ?Of course that means zilch to HBO but has to be something to being a co feature on the PPV.Katsidis is limited but can be very entertaining with his insistence on being punched in the face and always trying to impose his will. But even in fights he wins convincingly he looks as though a slow moving lawn mower had run over his face, twice.Good match up...very Tv friendly but can see Marquez literally rendering him unrecongnizable.
-
Re: Apparently it's JMM vs Katsidis
I think Marquez is gonna knock him silly if this happens. Just look at the two common opponents Juan diaz and Casamayor and what Katsidis did in comparison to Marquez. KTFO, but then again this is boxing....
-
Re: Apparently it's JMM vs Katsidis
Until the KO Diaz's pressure was troubling Marquez. Katsidis actually has some power. Pity he's a heavy bag. I'm looking forward to this fight but I think Katsidis is gonna need more than one cutman.

yep. like chris john.

Re: Apparently it's JMM vs Katsidis
I thought the Diaz fight was tough for Marquez. I didn't really think he was having any trouble with Casamayor. Marquez seemed at least to me to be in control of that whole fight.

no it isnt
lewis was heavyweight champion of the world and had a rematch clause in the contract that rahman tried desperately to get out of because he knew lewis would kill him in a US ring
Partying too hard with eminem and not climatising himself with the conditions factored into it as well meant everyone but everyone wanted the rematch
A superior fighter knocking out someone in 7rounds is a complete different story

That Hatton IS a gimme for Marquez. Which he is. Katsidis at least still has better punch resistance than Hatton.

I would rather see Katsidis v Khan

i agree. he has a better chance against khan. khan, imo, has a suspect chin. khan can't handle pac's aggression during sparring, i doubt if he can handle katsidis's as well.
