David Tua vs Wladmir Klitschko
Anyone else think this would be a good fight? obviously David has to get a few more wins under his belt but he is a big name in the heavyweight division so this fight would sell i would love to see this. David is one of the biggest heavyweight punchers ever i really would like to see him win a world title before he retires.

Re: David Tua vs Wladmir Klitschko
I think Wlad would probably win a 12 round jab fest (jabs by Wlad, not Tua lol) but Tua always has a punchers chance
-
Re: David Tua vs Wladmir Klitschko
even if Wladimir KO'd Tua there's no way he'd get any respect from the haters. I wouldn't mind seeing this fight happen and seeing Wladimir demolish Tua with that right cross.
I do think that Vitali would be the brother people would want to see Tua fight, although I don't have as much faith in his chin as I once did after watching him avoid many of Cris Arreola's punches, although he is a smart fighter and it isn't like him to just take punches for no reason.

Re: David Tua vs Wladmir Klitschko
Just a matter of time before somebody catches that glass Jaw again though Lyle. The only reason Wlad has not beed Koed again is due the horrible lack of decent opposition available ;)

Re: David Tua vs Wladmir Klitschko
You can only beat who is put infront of you...Tua ain't exactly a defensive mastermind and Manny Steward has already worked a corner with a fighter who had a style and skill set similar to Wladimir's.
I think Wlad has been active, he's very well conditioned, he's able to handle pressure a bit better, he's more relaxed in the ring, and he doesn't waste his punches. Tua has been on and off 2 years without having a fight TWICE, and he's fought tomato cans...at this point in time Wladimir would school him BIG TIME.
Everyone complains about the heavyweight division, it's not bad, it's just competitive below the championship level as opposed to competitive AT the championship level. Middleweight isn't competitive at the championship level what with Abraham gone....Paul Williams has a shot at beating Kelly Pavlik but if he doesn't then middleweight isn't any better than heavyweight but nobody bitches about that. 140 and 154 has the opposite problem, no one person is ruling those divisions and so you don't get a dominant champion but you get competition at the championship level....doesn't make those weight classes more exciting.

Re: David Tua vs Wladmir Klitschko
Tua acts as if he doesn't want a huge fight. He's a walking punchers chance, especially with Wlads jake in the box chin, but he can easily be outboxed. If Wlad keeps it smart & mobile and throws a few more right hands down the middle he would take a wide 12 I believe.
-
Re: David Tua vs Wladmir Klitschko
Tua is as ready as he will ever be. I don't think at 37 he is learning new tricks. he has the ability to make all boxers buckle under his granite fists. Throw him in there sooner than later and let him do his thing!
What has he got to lose? More New Zealand HW sub-title clashes?
Tua would be a 1:2 dog in my book. With a good possibility of catching him early.

Re: David Tua vs Wladmir Klitschko
Tua at this point is too slow, too fat, and hasn't been active. Seriuosly when and who was his last fight Saul Montana? about 2 years ago! Wlad would box Tua for about 8 rounds and probably make Tua quit just like the rest of them. I believe we've had this conversation before. Only it was Rahman who was going to stop Wlad.
-
Re: David Tua vs Wladmir Klitschko
Wlad would just jab the hell out of Tua for 12 rounds.Tua would have a punchers chance in the first couple of rounds but he is to slow these days and i doubt he would trouble Wlad at all.
-
Re: David Tua vs Wladmir Klitschko
I'm not sure if even the best version of TUa would beat this version of Wlad, he is just too good at using his height, and his jab is just too hard for anyone to walk right in if he actually puts any weight behind it. He doesn't need to hurt Tua, just snap his head back to stop a guy temporarily in their tracks, and Wlad is much too quick of foot for Tua to catch up to him.
-
Re: David Tua vs Wladmir Klitschko
Not only would Tua have to hit Wlad, he'd have to follow up...and as good as Wladimir is at using space, the jab, and well placed power punches Ithink he would bludgeon David Tua, I would not be surprised 1 bit if Wlad stopped him...I also wouldn't be surprised if nobody gave him credit for it
-
Re: David Tua vs Wladmir Klitschko
Beating Shane Cameron doesn't mean shiit. Wlad would demolish Tua. It would either be Tua retiring or the referee calling it off somewhere between the 7th & 11th round or it would be one-sided beatdown of epic proportions. If Tua had more speed than maybe. But he doesn't & then after the fight we'll all complain about Wlad taking on shot fighters & avoiding the young guns of the division. It's painfully predictable

Re: David Tua vs Wladmir Klitschko
Is the ref gonna allow holding whenever Tua gets inside so that they can seperate and Wladimer can control distance? I think the refs need to let the Klits know about holding and actually penalize them for holding whenever someone gets close and they hold him. That's illegal isnt it?

Re: David Tua vs Wladmir Klitschko
Wlad, and I'm not sure Tua would even put up that great of an effort.

There's a limit to how much credit or credibility you can give Vlad because at the back of your mind is the knowledge that he got knocked out by a pro-celebrity golfer.
-
Re: David Tua vs Wladmir Klitschko
One pro-celebrity golfer that nearly put down his brother who has the "chin of granite"....also Wlad got back up as well, it's just that Sanders was able to follow up. Wlad doesn't give up his height and reach like that anymore, he'd destroy David Tua. Over the past couple of years Wladimir has gotten better, David Tua has just gotten older
-
Re: David Tua vs Wladmir Klitschko
tua needs to wear 5 inch platforms to land something decent against a 6'6" klitschko. he barely touched lennox and when he did he had to jump as high as lebron. tua is one of my fav heavy weights but i think he is way over his head on this one.. literally.

Not sure about that Lyle. Tua is one of the greatest punchers the division has ever seen and he is capable of one punch KOing just about anyone. Problem is I don't think he has the speed to get inside Wlads jab and I only see Wlad 1-2ing Tua's head off. Tua would have to hope for either a macho Wlad (which I don't see) or Wlad having an off night and making a few mistake's and Tua would then have to capitalise.

Re: David Tua vs Wladmir Klitschko
....he didn't 1 punch KO Shane Cameron

Doesn't mean he couldn't though. I'm with you on Wlad beating him, but he has got that power that IF he connected, Wlad would go!

Re: David Tua vs Wladmir Klitschko
I think its too late for Tua to defeat Wlad. Tua is only getting older and slower so I'd have to see him do much more before I change my mind on this. But I think no one can be surprised if he did KO Wladimir. Murderous punch vs. Suspect chin is always a one punch away fight. But I think Wlad would play this as cautious as if he were taking on a prime Tua and then would win a jab, jab, jab, occasional right hand fest. Coming back at the age of 37 is hardly a good idea. Unless he needs the money...
-
Re: David Tua vs Wladmir Klitschko
Only hope for Tua at this late stage of plodding is to work on adjusting his feet to a mental trigger and be catching or disrupting the jab at a distance and be moving in, think in twos like a flowing fox trot step, ba bang. Other than that It'll look like a rerun of Lewis Tyson.

YOU HAVE TO FOLLOW UP TO KO WLADIMIR!
Sure he doesn't take a punch well, but hell Corrie Sanders blasted him with a left cross and Wlad got back up before the 10 count...of course he was back down a little later, but the FACT is Wlad can handle 1 punch of big power but you have to follow up to stop him.
...And before that Tua would have to catch him

Re: David Tua vs Wladmir Klitschko
Well... if you didn't see it here it is!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3BkeuntHRpMTua has good movement and is in shape. Most any top Heavyweight when he connects it's going to do damage. I think Tua has a good chance certainly as better than Arreola because Arreola head doesn't move like Tua's.
