I hope he retires right now rather than going through with the tournament. He is a shadow of himself at this point after tonight. Jermain please get out while you still have your health.
I hope so. When Taylor gets stopped he really gets stopped. The Abraham KO wasnt as brutal as the pavlik or the froch ones, but the way he was lying on the ground after it was scary.
Taylor has made a lot of money in the sport and I think after the super-six he has few reasons to continue fighting.
Yes, after the tournament he's done, well he's done now, but he'll finish this.
Why do you think Lou DiBella was trying to get the most money for his first fight in the Fight 360 show.
He's scheduled to fight Ward next, right? It's another big payday for him and Ward isn't a big hitter so he probably will fight him. If Ward stops him he'd probably have to retire but if Kessler's promoter offers him a ton of money for a big fight in Europe who's to say? I think at least one more fight though.
This just in from Dan Rafael.

Hey guys, I'm back. That was Lou DiBella on the phone from Germany.
Lou said Jermain had a severe concussion and is in the hospital for precautionary reasons. He has had short term memory loss. Lou said he'll stay in the hospital for several days as a precaution. No decision has been made about his future in the tournament.
He should hang them up,and I mean for good.Head up
concussion and short term memory loss? shit he's gotta retire. best of luck to him in the future.
Taylor might well be done. He needs a good holiday really. Kessler will probably stomp down on the other Ward, so it is Taylors best shot at a win IMO in the next round.
But that knockout was Hattonesque and we know that Hatton is in no hurry to come back. Taylor is on a bad, bad run, and getting sparked everytime now. He really deserved to go the distance against Abraham having got as far as he did and his confidence might have been somewhat okay. But I can see him being quite broken up that he worked so hard just to find himself crushed right at the end again.
It's a wait and see thing with Taylor, but it's apparent he will never solve his stamina issues nor ever fully clean out the ghosts again.
Jermains best shot would be to start going for early ko's, other than that retire.
Too bad they cant bring in Paul Williams.
Well if Taylor doesn't box anymore, he can always become the next Evel Knieval, since he seems to have the proper stance down for popping wheelies.

Yeah he must be finished at this point... Can you imagine if they still had 15 round fights? He would have never made it half as far as he did.
If the bulletins from Germany is right I think Taylor should stop it now, too bad really I had Taylor ahead on points, but in Germany you have to knock the other man out just to get a draw .
After 2 KOs in the last seconds of the 12th round in fights he should have won... maybe Taylor still believe he can win this ??
Yeah, still Stamina problem but I noticed it was much better this time though, he was very active in round 10 and 11 though Abraham had the better and that it wasn't as bad as it used to be before.
PErsonally, I think Taylor has a lot of good boxing remaining inside, he might never be a champion again but he would be on the top part of the pile still and I would believe in his chances to beat Dirrell Ward and even Froch would a rematch happens. How is he morally after such defeat? That I don't know, guess it must be painful to get knocked out at the very end of the 12th round like that, especially because win or lose, he wasn't looking VERY bad into that fight.
The problem though is the concusion... we cannot mess with cerebral shit like that and only if it is a very minor injury should he continue otherwise it's way too dangerous for him.
As long as Taylor stays away from the hard punching white fighters then he still might have a future ;D. I think he is about done in the sport of boxing and should really hang them up after this.
No, as long as he fights smaller slower opponents.
I would like to see him retire. His career has been very similar to that of Meldrick Taylor or Wilfred Benitez in that he has fought the best early on in his career in tough fights that damage has been inflicted over the course of many rounds. He has taken a lot of hard blows and the effects are starting to show. I would hate to see him end up like so many past champions cause he stayed around too long. Jermaine has been a good fighter and a GREAT Champion. All class and he has fought the best and given boxing his all. You can see it now in his eyes and body language that he is a guy who should not be fighting anymore.
Yup he will be remembered for his 2 close wins over Hopkins and wins over Spinks, Ouma and Wright whom all 3 IMO were much smaller framed than him.
As a fan of Taylor's I hope the guy hangs up the gloves. He could easily find a job on ESPN or HBO or Showtime as an analyst. The guy has a family and all and he can't do much for them if he's truly injured boxing and that's what is next if he continues.
Guys can come back from decision losses but the KO's he has suffered vs Pavlik, Froch, and now Abraham were brutal and he took lots of punishment before the final blow was struck. He needs to call it quits before he's really hurt.
Find a new profession JT, your hearts not in it, and for goodness sake dont come up with some new strategy thats supposed to lead you to victory. Just stay down.
He's done all he can but he has run out of gas and desire. He was fit when he was in training and weight was no problem but physical shape and no desire facing a terror like Abraham after the ghost and Froch, as they say in grammar class punctuation was the name of the term best suited for his latest loss to Abraham. He's done a good job but he's finished.
