its very frustrating that he keeps having infections, breaks, ect. but if they were to amputate his hand. he wouldnot be able to fight at all even witha staph infected broken hand he canstill hope to fight one day. unless you're joking about amputating his hand i can never tell with you guys.

Sergio Martinez was scheduled to fight on the untelevised portion of the Diaz/Malignaggi card the following week, and had no opponent yet, so I say let Williams and Martinez fight.
He is very predictable anyway so with one hand it wont make to much differents ;D

Paul try and try is a huge word here....and find someone else to fight you, he would have beat pavlik any damn way. And if he didn't it would be pavlik's hand as the excuse why.
Feel bad for williams and yeah as dianne mentioned martinez and williams should go ahead and get it on at a catchweight of 157 or something if neither williams or martinez want to to go down or up. I'd actually love to see that fight, and both of them need to fight. I can't fault pavlik to much tho if it's a legit injury but what the fuck...

I'm with Ouma, cut the fucker off (& his hand while we're at it). I used to like Pavlik but the combination of Jack Loew, Bob Arum & his behaviour this year have really pissed me off. Right now the only way I'll support him is if he got in a ring with Carl Froch ;D

The guy has been neither here nor there since the Hopkins drubbing. I agree he should fight or have the hand cut off. It's getting a bit boring now. How does anyone keep getting infections in their hand?
Pavlik appears to have lost any sense of direction with his career and is now fighting once a year and only against the likes of Rubio. A bit pointless really.
I can see why he would have a problem closing his hand, and boxing, when his hand looks like this. :p

Martinez is a good one, but I think Williams gets to him eventually wears him out with pressure. Martinez does move well though and is southpaw kind of fighter that gves Williams problems. I kind of wanna see this Dzinziruk that wants the fight as well.
This has just pissed me off for the rest of the day.
Williams would beat sergio martinez quite handily. Certainly not as tough a challenge as fightin pavlik would have been.
Tell pavlik to go to hell, williams will just own him all night long anyway

Staff infections are very painful and hard as hell to heal,you guys joke like it is nothing and he should just fight though it but that's not possible. I just seen a special not long ago about football players getting it and they said they thought it was nothing at first and they would just play through it but it became more painfull and crippling then any hit they ever took on a football field, it ends careers and is so common in locker rooms the NFL put a full out assault against it trying to sanitize everything which is a full time battle.
On another note about fighting with one hand, there was at least one pro fighter with only one hand, I think it was his right that was gone just above the elbow?, they put a glove on it and allowed him to fight and he did ok considering his right was a stub. I don't know his name and just searched for him with no luck but I remember watching him a couple times years ago maybe on espn??
The problem is not Pavlik having the infection. The problem is him arranging & then cancelling fights because of it. Sorry, it's 3 strikes & you're out. First, there was bailing on Mora, fine fair enough there weren't many wanting to see that ugly fight anyway, but regardless it's unprofessional. Then the Williams fight in October. I've never seen a fighter literally right on the brink of super-stardom blow it like Pavlik. He had the potential to become the biggest boxing star in the US certainly, possibly around the world.
