Re: Who in your opinion was the worst bleeder in boxing history?
Gatti, Katsidis, JC Chavez all come to mind
-
Re: Who in your opinion was the worst bleeder in boxing history?
Who's nickname was "The Bleeder" again?
EDIT: Chuck Wepner, "The Bayonne Bleeder."

Re: Who in your opinion was the worst bleeder in boxing history?
I'm not really familiar with Big Henry outside his fights with Ali but he certainly lost some pints in those wars.

Re: Who in your opinion was the worst bleeder in boxing history?
Honorable mention to Arce, and Barrios.
-
Re: Who in your opinion was the worst bleeder in boxing history?
Would have to agree with Sir 'Enery and Vito , would also add Alan Minter to that .

Re: Who in your opinion was the worst bleeder in boxing history?
Let's not forget Lubaczewski, it was only the cuts that stopped her from being a world champ, well that and the ko's.

Paul is working on a world's championship for her, she,s very close, she deserved it plus it was 4 robberies she had to face. *insert sarcasm here*

Re: Who in your opinion was the worst bleeder in boxing history?
Katsidis starts bleeding from touching gloves before the fight it seems.
-
Re: Who in your opinion was the worst bleeder in boxing history?
The shape of enry's cheekbones and brow etc ensured that he practically cut with out being touched... :-/

Re: Who in your opinion was the worst bleeder in boxing history?
Cotto lately, right?
His face basically exploded in the Marg fight. But I guess we could argue the cause being the plaster..

Re: Who in your opinion was the worst bleeder in boxing history?
Daniel Zaragoza and Vinny Paz....hide the children :o

Re: Who in your opinion was the worst bleeder in boxing history?
Cooper only got stopped on cuts , by 3 different Fighters. Got chinned by about 12.
-
Re: Who in your opinion was the worst bleeder in boxing history?
I believe it was Antuofermo who had skin either removed or put back on to try to stop the cuts from being so bad. He get's my vote.

your 100% right mate, you beat me to it. Cooper wasnt a bleeder as such, in fact he was KO'd more times than stopped on cuts. This is a fallacy that guys who dont know the game always repeat without actually checking out. Its just that most guys only know about the Ali fights. He was actually offered to fight Frazier around 68 but Jim Wicks near collapsed when he heard it and quickly refused

Henry Was First Person Who Came To Mind

Barrios almost getting his lip punched off had to be one of the few moments I can remember actually feeling sick watching it. I mean
his lip almost came off.
Katsidis and Arce were the first two I thought of as well.

Not the clearest picture in the world but look at this cut on the "Brockton Blockbuster" after the second Charles fight!

George Chuvalo might have something to say about that

If it was not for his tendency to cut and weak chin he would have been champ.

Re: Who in your opinion was the worst bleeder in boxing history?
Jim Wicks when asked to make the Fight with Liston replied, I wouldnt put Henry in the same Town let alone the same Ring as that Monster. ;D

I see Floyd Patterson vs Henry Cooper awhile ago, and boy Floyd Patterson did give Henry Cooper a beating. He would of been dismantled by Sonny Liston in 2 rounds, i respect Henry Cooper and he did the British proud vs Muhammad Ali, but honestly he was just a decent Heavyweight.
Who's rise to fame was one left hook vs Muhammad Ali, i heard he had a twin brother aswell, and some old guy told me once they had a fruit and veg stall and you couldn't tell them apart.

Re: Who in your opinion was the worst bleeder in boxing history?
ICB, His name was George, but Boxed under the name of Jim. Good puncher but bled more than Henry. They were Twins but you could tell the Difference.

Re: Who in your opinion was the worst bleeder in boxing history?
Sir Henry of course but how about Troy The Destroyer Dorsey ?? Troy got cut during the refs instructions lol. They finally discovered that it was the sharp bone above his eyes that was cutting him from the inside when he got hit. Yroy had surgery to round off the sharp edge & when healed had far less problem Nice guy was Troy

I was at that fight, it was a headbutt more affectionately known as the "Glasgow Kiss" , watt was up agains it in nutted him on the refs blindside, oops sorry about that what a mistake. Don't know that he has ever admitted it in public but I know he has in private !!

I think they use to say that the opponent was too ugly, in other words to dangerous. Liston v Cooper would have been a horrible beating, with Liston's jab.

Re: Who in your opinion was the worst bleeder in boxing history?
Antuofermo, Gatti, and the "Bayonne Bleeder" Chuck Wepner....These guys started bleeding when the opening bell rang....
