oh yeah sorry i remember reading something abt that, so if valuev wins he fight ruiz (i cant wait) if haye wins he fights ruiz (oh i just cant contain myself) ;D;D;D

Re: Haye vs Valuev Undercard announced.....
One more reason why we want Haye to win, to finally retire Ruiz, who would want to watch a third fight between Valuev and Ruiz?

Me too. I think the night Tyson fought Holyfield they called it judgement night and we had Eubank and Hamed on over here before they crossed over to the U.S.
Might be wrong as it was a while ago and I was only 12! 90% sure though.

Re: Haye vs Valuev Undercard announced.....
cant see ruiz keeping haye off him! so better if haye beats valuev for everyone|
the only good thing anyone seems to say abt valuev is that he is big!

So, that would mean Valuev should donate his to some kind of anti drug campaign aimed at young kids.... "don't do drugs or this will happen to you" lol

Re: Haye vs Valuev Undercard announced.....
I hope George Groves is on the televised part of the card. He looks like he could have a good career.
-
Re: Haye vs Valuev Undercard announced.....

Re: Haye vs Valuev Undercard announced.....
Looks like TBA is in for a busy night................
-
Re: Haye vs Valuev Undercard announced.....
I'll make my final mind once we know who are the "TBA" as to me, for now, it can dangle from correct to mediocre still. And for God's sake, we don't want Ruiz-Valuev, we don't want Ruiz-Valuev!!!!

very exciting fighter
hard to get excited about someone so early in their career but he definitely has raw talent and lots of potential
Hope they stick him in with a live opponent....he is ready!!

Re: Haye vs Valuev Undercard announced.....
Does anyone know the approximate start time for the Haye vs. Valuev fight ??
I see Sky Box Office coverage begins at 9pm but they will probably kick off with the poor undercard named today.
Got a few mates round for the fight and just basically need to know roughly what time the fight is on and whether the fight will start at some ridiculous hour to suit the US ??

german main events usually get going around 11ish
expect them to be in the ring around that time

Re: Haye vs Valuev Undercard announced.....
That's the WORST undercard i've ever seen for a Brit PPV. Shocking.
-
Re: Haye vs Valuev Undercard announced.....
I dont understand why the fuck this is on PPV??
Haye hasnt actully got any fans??
Dont you think it's a good idea to let these fights be free to air so more people tune in and build him up.
Khan got 30k ppv's cant imagine how shit this ppv will do.

To be honest mate, it's only a bad matchup for people who know how bad Valuev is.
The general public sees a British HW going to fight a giant. I've heard a lot of casual fans talking about it & being quite excited. Plus if it's not on at a ridiculous time, it will benefit. As bad as Khan-Kotelnik did, Khan-Barrera did very well, because Barrera had the profile to help raise the event for your average fan.
-
Re: Haye vs Valuev Undercard announced.....
This should be free, I am not paying for it but will watch the repeat and hope for a live stream on the day.

I agree. Haye is currently in a similar position to that of Calzaghe around the time of the Lacy fight. Most of the public didn't really know who he was, just knew he was a boxer & had seen a little bit of him. However, the opponent is then sold as being unbeatable as Lacy was & Valuev is due to his size (I know he's been beaten, but most will see 50+ fights with only 1 defeat & think he's amazing).
I think this does quite well, it's probably the best Sky have marketed a fight since Hatton-Mayweather. More importantly I reckon if Haye wins he becomes an overnight star similar to how Calzaghe did after the Lacy fight.

Re: Haye vs Valuev Undercard announced.....
haye shouls be on the BBC, the stupid twats, they havnt a clue how much of a star he could be

You remember how full the papers were after Lewis beat Holyfield? It was on the back page for a full week, now your lucky if boxing makes the papers once a week. I'd love that for Haye. Not saying he deserves it for this but one day maybe!!

has britain turned its back on boxing or are we in need of a new hero?

Part of that was down to Lewis building up a following over the previous 5 years through fighting at the domestic level against the likes of Bruno.
I remember when Hatton fought Mayweather it was probably the main feature in the sports pages along with football for the preceding week & subsequent few days.
I think it's just there isn't really a fighter at or approaching his peak who's a superstar over here. Hatton's time is gone. Khan is probably currently the closest, but they switched him to PPV way too early.

Yep, totally agree. For instance my friend's wife is planning to pay for it. Purely due to curiosity about Valuev's size. As she puts it she 'can't imagine how Haye will be able to reach his head'. haha

Theres a LOT of interest about this over here in Malta but no one has to pay for it ;)
Load of us piling into a bar for it and you can get PPV channels here free through Dreambox.
Your bang on mate this will get terrible viewing figures through the UK PPV as Haye isn't exactly a Hatton or Calzaghe.
If he wins (I think he can win this) then he'll be an overnight superstar no question.
The nearer this gets the more intruiging the clash of styles is and Ruslan Chagaev beating Valuev and being only 6ft 1 tall says a lot about how this may pan out.
Haye is def more athletic , quicker and arguably has more power than Chag.;)
