Valuev & Haye just weighed in...
Just watched the weigh in on Sky Sports News.
Haye weighed in first at 16 stone 6 lbs (230 lbs) and Valuev weighed in at 22 stone 6 lbs (314 lbs)
Not sure without checking but I think that's the heaviest Haye has ever fought at, I hope he hasn't lost any of his speed. He did look in tremendous shape though, links and pics to follow if I can find em.....

Re: Valuev & Haye just weighed in...
Haye actually weighed in 1 lb heavier at 231lbs against Bonin...

Re: Valuev & Haye just weighed in...
Haye weighed in 15st 8lbs. Valuev was 22st 7lbs. Its on Sky Sports News.

Re: Valuev & Haye just weighed in...
at 98.2kg i had Haye weighing more like 15stone 6lbs ( 216lbs ) as 100kg is 220lbs 15stone 10lbs and 2.2lbs in a 1kg and Valuev weighing 22stone 7lbs (314lbs)

Glad it's 15st 8lbs and not 16st 6lbs.
Thought for a minute they were going for a Dempsey-Willard job literally :-\

No he did weigh in at 16 stone 6 lbs, it was against Bonin he weight 15 st 8lbs. I misunderstood how to interpret Boxrec and wrongly assumed Haye weighed in at 231 for that fight...
So Haye weighing in at 230 is his career high, by a long shot!! Not sure what to make of that :-\
EDIT: completely ignore me, I'm a blind muppet!! reoprts on the internet are saying it's 218lbs. I swear it come up as 16 stone 6 lbs on Sky earlier... Oh well
-
Re: Valuev & Haye just weighed in...
That's why, just read read on Boxingscene that Sky initially announced the incorrect weight of 16 st 6lbs. Knew I'd seen that! ;D

Re: Valuev & Haye just weighed in...
No he doesn't look in good condition at all however I've heard it's far harder to reach a certain fitness if you're over 7 ft tall. Something to do with the joints and bones. I can't imagine he does much running. I'd love to find out how much Valuev can bench press though.
My prediction for tomorrow is for a Valuev win on points. Valuev will clip Haye on the chin atleast once and he'll be going down. People forget how poor Haye's chinhas been in the past let alone his questionable stamina! He's fought about 7 rounds in 2 years hasn't he??
I see nothing more than a Haye loss here I'm afraid. I'd love it if he won though. Would be fab for British boxing and the Heavyweight scene.

Every time Haye has been over it is from a shot to the top of the head as in temple area not a shot to the chin FACT.;)

That's even more of a concern because the chin is the best place to catch someone and with a big reach like Valuev's he's gonna land with the jab dozens of times in this fight.

Well if you want to lose your money put it on Valuev. You will get a good price if you shop around. You can get 10/3 for a Valuev KO and 4/1 for a decision win.

Re: Valuev & Haye just weighed in...
i bet if he shaves off all that hair, Valuev would weigh in at about 275 lbs :-X

To look at him: probably not an impressive amount, and if compared to his body weight probably nothing terms of relative strength.
He's big, knows how to use it and can spoil... but athletically speaking he's pretty useless.
Size, not strength is his only stand out asset.

Saw this reply to the same question on another forum that made me laugh
He's probably not pound for pound strong. But he's strong in absolute terms.
An a beetle can lift 50 times it's body weight, but a horse can only lift about half it's own weight. Still, if they fought, my money is on the horse.
-
Re: Valuev & Haye just weighed in...
What if it's a venomous beetle or a beetle carrying some form of deadly parasite/virus and the horse hasn't had it's sugar lumps?
-
Re: Valuev & Haye just weighed in...
Blister beetle - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"The blister beetle genus Epicauta is highly toxic to horses :p. A few beetles consumed in a single feeding of alfalfa hay may be lethal. Poisonings have also been reported after use of "Spanish fly"-type folk medicines, and after handling blister beetle individuals. The toxic chemical is cantharidin."
;D
And Valuev isn't no Stallion either
http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_6vUGMxV0oC...gly+donkey.jpg
But yeah, the point is that Valuev isn't athletic, but that won't be the deciding factor in this fight. The deciding factor will be whether he can employ the right tactics and use his size to negate haye's work... not how much the hair blubber bag can bench press.

Re: Valuev & Haye just weighed in...
This could be an good fight, if your blind!! Nikolay Valuev is one of the worst if not the worst fighter who has an "ABC" belt!! Who has he fought and actually won , Oh yea No One!!! He Lost to Evander Holyfield but because they were in Germany and that horrible Italian Judge Pierluigi Poppi if he is one of the judges during this fight watch out for a great decision!! Seriously I don't know how anyone can say this is even an average fighter he is terrible, man friggen Manny Pacquiao could beat him!! I can't stand Haye mouth but he should KO the Yeti through the ring!!
-
Re: Valuev & Haye just weighed in...
If Haye doesn't KO Valuev he loses. He can put him down once per round and still lose. I want Haye to win, but I don't think it'll happen.

Re: Valuev & Haye just weighed in...
Didn't Haye say his goal for fighting weight at heavyweight was 230-240?? 216...that's seriously light!!! Anyone worried about this???
Valuev probably can't bench very much because his arms are long, it's harder to bench press a lot of weight when you're pushing it farther.
I want to see Haye cope with the shots Valuev will land on the back/near the back of David's head. I also want to see how Valuev handles Haye's punches.

No, are you?;D
He ain't a big heavy, it's that simple to me. I reckon it's his best fighting weight looking at him. Valuev is quite a task when your THAT small in comparison, it's like me fighting a 19 stone fella. Fuck that shit.

Never heard Haye say that. 216 is similar to what Tyson and Holyfield used to weigh in their primes and i'd put everything I own on a "Prime Tyson" or Holyfield beating any of the Heavys around now!
-
Re: Valuev & Haye just weighed in...
Yes "Prime Tyson" and Evander Holyfield all throughout his career were down in the 210's, but you see those guys had solid chins and good defense....David Haye has neither......so I ask again, is anyone worried about this?
I mean RJJ fought the 230 pound John Ruiz when Roy weighed in at like 197, but Roy was quick, he had a HUGE ring, and Roy put punches together and got the hell out of dodge. David Haye can't do that vs Valuev either, because even in a huge ring like Roy had Valuev is so big, cutting the ring off ain't an issue.

Fancy a sig bet on the fight then?

I'm only making a sig bet when Haye fights Wladimir or Vitali.

Man...why don't you have a sitcom yet, that joke is hilarious, and the great part is it's also original......you jackass
I don't usually do sig bets and a fight of this magnitude does not warrant me to change my behavior. If I make a sig bet for this fight, then I open the doors to any and all of Haye/Valuev's fights after this one, and I don't want that.
I don't even know who I want to win this fight

You know I'm kidding dude!;)
If Haye lost this fight and a Vitali-Valuev fight was made after I would be made up! The reason is because I know for a fact Valuev will get smashed in the jaw and we can see just how much punishment he can take. Also i wanna see the massive fucker fall on his head.
-
Re: Valuev & Haye just weighed in...
Yeah, I know you're kidding man.
I agree, it will be very impressive whenever Valuev does get KO'd. Did you hear Valuev said "I wanted to fight Vitali but he didn't want the fight"....that is such bullshit, I mean hell Wladimir offered Nicolay a shot at the WBO and IBF belts and Valuev took a pass on that fight and he was the 1st person offered that fight when Haye pulled out.
Haye & Valuev deserve each other whatever the result....chickenshit bastards

Well I give credit to Haye for taking this fight, he is pretty new to the HW division, Valuev not fighting either Klits is just pathetic though, should have already been done. I know either would take him with relative ease.
-
Re: Valuev & Haye just weighed in...
I would like to see Valuev beaten up to pulp by either of the Klitshko but what really annoys me into that fight is that the winner has to fight "Jab and Grab" after... which means that either of Haye or Valuev Vs one of the Ukrenian brothers won't likely happen before next autumn.

Well he doesn't look like he could bench press much i doubt he is as strong as me im 5ft 11inch 18stone (252lbs) and i can bench press 170kg (374lbs) or 26stone 10lbs ;)

It depends what he is bencing. I bench 100 kg free weights (work high reps usually, 70 reps of 80kg), but on a machine I have been as high as 200kg. When you don't have to balance high weights are far easier so it is not so absurd.

Quite impressive mate... but what's your one rep max? ;)
