Total Fix: Money talks in boxing!

Too drunk to read RBR thread but my initial reaction is Valuev Vs Haye was a fix!!

When Adam Booth said to Haye at the end of the 10th "Keep moving, in and out, keep doing the same and in 6 minutes time you get what you want" I said there and then Haye will get the decision....

I'm so pissed off, it was an absolute anti climax of a fight, wank from start to finish. Haye ran the entire fight which pissed me off. I had 20 people round for the PPV, non boxing fans and all. I'm not saying Haye didn't win some rounds but c'mon, in Germany FFS!!!! I bet either fighter landed didn't land 100 punches the entire fight

Kalle Sauland (Sp) has rights to promote Hayes next 3 fights. He makes more money from Haye Vs Klitschko than he does Vaulev vs Klitschko!! Tonight was going to Haye all along, I think Haye and Booth knew it from round 1, hence Haye avoiding gettin KO'd all damn night!!!

Well that's my initial gut reaction after 10 beers and a little somet else, what does everyone else think????

Sober up and watch it then. It's a boxing match. You need to land punches to win. Only one person was landing! Haye deserved the nod. Not someone who misses 90% of the time.

With all due respect Conrad, I felt that whilst Haye was at the furthers point away from his vintage best, he did do enough to win, and seemed to box enough to grab the requisite number of rounds to win.

No doubt, I told my friends that it wasn't going to be a great PPV and they'd be better off listening on the radio or watching online, but a win is a win, andc Haye was the better of two bad fighters.

You win a fight by landing more punches, not by throwing more punches. Simple as.

I bet a lot of the people saying that Haye didn't deserve the nod will be the same people saying that Andre Dirrell did deserve the nod.

Suprised he won because of Valuevs prior decision victorys but overall Haye didnt do alot but he scored with more without a doubt.

Well said lads. At least there are some clever people on here. Only one person deserved the nod and he got it!

How you reckon that comment points to a fix confuses me, seems a logical instruction form a corner who reckons their man is doing enough by hitting and running, and in the end it should just be enough to be doing more of the hitting even when there is not enough of it.

Haye won the fight, it wasn't exciting but he did win.

I don't see how anybody can cry foul really, the long and short of it is:

Haye was able tiny bit effective whilst valuev was almost entirely ineffective.

MOST people thought Haye was a total thick mug that would blow himself out trying to KO Valuev (especially Jim Watt).. obviously not.

Shit fight but well done Haye on the tactics, even if all the casuals will never watch boxing again. When's the next UFC?

Yeah Jim what is a dick. Johnny Nelson knew what Haye was going to do from the outset, all the rest of the Sky "experts" who said Haye had no stamina and needed to KO Valuev to win had egg on their face's and didn't want to admit it.

Must admit I thought Haye would be more offensive, but he proved tonight he can box when he needs to and doesn't have to rely on his KO power in every fight. To me he proved he has got a lot to offer boxing now at HW and I expect him to become the biggest star in the sport especially if he KO's his next opponent in good fashion!!

Totally agree. Not because Haye doesn't have the power to KO Ruiz though, but because Ruiz will never let himself get caught cold like that again. I still think Haye will KO him though, Ruiz took a few shots tonight and cut open, if Haye landed those shots I think the "quietman" would be living upto his nickname.

In all due respect to Haye, he is a lot more exciting than big foot. Let's hope big foot and john ruiz go to the WWE or something. Haye's test will come with the Klits. These are the fights we want to see, Maybe Haye can rub out all the boring giants and create a new breed of champions and not some over grown gorilla and fat slobs which have been the run of the mill for about the past decade or so :mad:

I am not sure if you are being sarcastic, but Andrel Dirrell outlanded Froch by a fair margin in their fight, at least with legal blows.

Everybody's more exciting than big foot !

I had it 117 - 111 but 116 - 112 is fair enough, but the Spaniard I don't know what fight did he score, he just private me of a perfect prediction for this week.

I watch haye for his exciting fights and this was his worst display I have ever seen. He should not have been so afraid to hit Valuev. He needed to hit him with that punch that rocked him in at least the 11 round. He would have had a chance to finish Valuev then.
That punch was the only posative thing to come out of this fight. It proves he has carried his power up to the heavyweight devision.
His next fight needs way more excitement to match up to any of his fights at cruiserwweight.

I read that in this months Boxing Monthly quoted from the promoter himself.

Judging from everyone's reaction to my Strongbow fuelled thread I perhaps need to go watch the fight again. ;D

I guess I just went into the fight with the mindset that Haye needed th KO as it was in Germany. When he didn't go for it and ran the entire fight it just angered me. I felt it was the wrong tactic considering where it was and figured Haye/Booth knew something we didn't...

On a side note, my mate who watched it with us knows his boxing had Haye leading by 3 rounds. My old man who knows his boxing too was adament Valuev would get the nod with it being over there, I even bet him a tenner after the 10th round Booth comments that Haye would win a decision.
