Mosley-Berto Set for Jan. 30
Not sure why this bout took so long to finalize since neither one of these guys had anything else lined up. I think this is going to be a excellent fast paced boxing match. I'm going to say Shane uses his veteren experence and gets a close decision.
I'm assuming the WBC title won't be on the line since Berto was supposed to have fought Collazo first. Maybe some step aside money and he gets the winner??

Re: Mosley-Berto Set for Jan. 30
I believe this will be for the belt only if Mosley apologizes to the WBC for fighting Margarito. No lie. I'm really excited for this fight.

Re: Mosley-Berto Set for Jan. 30
Shane is gonna wreck Berto.
-
Re: Mosley-Berto Set for Jan. 30
Yeah, unless Shane's age has shown up over the last year he will give Berto the business.
-
Re: Mosley-Berto Set for Jan. 30
I'm in the minority, but I think Berto outboxes Shane to take a very close split decision. Reason being that you can prepare for Mosley because you know how he will fight. With Berto he looks a different fighter every time he gets in the ring & if he can avoid squaring up, I think he makes it a very difficult night for Shane.

Re: Mosley-Berto Set for Jan. 30
I believe (and hope) that Mosley will brutalize and eventually KO Berto.
-
Re: Mosley-Berto Set for Jan. 30
I think Mosley will do bad things to a still somewhat raw Berto.Bertos falling in will be key.Half the time it seems Andre does not even know how he himself will fight.Age taken into consideration, way to many flaws for a top tier calibur type Mosley to exploit.

Re: Mosley-Berto Set for Jan. 30
cant wait for this one. Berto is gonna pull this one off.

Re: Mosley-Berto Set for Jan. 30
Hope Shane smashes this guy, Berto is not good for the sport anyway.
-
Re: Mosley-Berto Set for Jan. 30
Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is going to be a fucking awsome fight. People are selling Berto way too short thinking that Mosley will just curb stomp him. I think Berto will give Shane a very difficult fight because of his style and speed.

What's wrong with Berto? He has heart, he fights like a warrior, and he has amazing athletic abilities. To boot he is a really nice guy, I think he is a little too cocky, but he's very nice and down to earth (for a guy who's kind of cocky).

Re: Mosley-Berto Set for Jan. 30
I think it'll come down to berto not being able to take what shane can dish out and shane being able to take it. In a way I think the two have a similar style in that their both superbly fast but not as fluid in motion as you would think for being as fast as they are...

He will fall at the feet of Shane, also no one gives a fuck about him. He has made no noise or captured the imagination of anyone that I know of.

Of course everyone has their own opinion on boxers, but you have not given any particular reason why he is bad for the sport  apart from, and in your words, no-one gives a fcuk about him, well i do, and im sure others do also ! fairly short sighted pal
Anywho,
Good fight which Mosely should come through without too much drama, he needs this if he has any chance of getting messrs Cotto, Manny or Gayweather.

Re: Mosley-Berto Set for Jan. 30
I agree with Taeth Andre Berto is being underrated here, he has a great snappy jab something Shane Mosley struggles with. There both pretty equal in the speed department, the only thing with Andre Berto is that he isn't a great inside fighter, and he often squares himself up too much on the inside.
Although he did clinch more in his last fight on the inside, im not sure if thats an improvement though. I still think Andre Berto's chin hasn't been tested yet, and we will find out how strong his chin really is. I think this is a pretty even match up, i have no idea why Andre Berto is being sold short here.

Re: Mosley-Berto Set for Jan. 30
I think this will be a changing of the guard with Berto winning a majority decision.

Re: Mosley-Berto Set for Jan. 30
I think Berto's been fighting too many guys that were "supposed to" lose to him or just test him. He can step up big against Mosely, but I have a hard time seeing it happen. Unless Mosely shows up underprepared (no matter his "age" that night) and Berto recreates himself in a radical training camp, I think the outcome of this one can be seen a mile away.
Berto will take too many rounds off again allowing Mosely to get points off of flicking jabs and chucking bombs. If theres a stand and trade moment, I can't see Berto outslugging Shane, especially after being caught by lesser guys. Berto should be gassed and stuck between a rock and hard place come the late rounds. He'll need a knockout to win and have no energy, so he'll need to choose between dancing and holding to decision loss or swinging with Shane and being stopped. I personally think he'll choose the former.

Those for starters.......cannot get past Berto and the inconsistancy, falling into different styles and not in a measured way.Berto has some good tools, but has not shown he can use all of them together any where near the level of Mosley.

Re: Mosley-Berto Set for Jan. 30
I don't particularly like Berto, he is ugly to watch and looks like an M & M. His showing against Urango was particularly foul. I think Mosely will spark him out down the stretch dropping him once or twice along the way. It will be fun.

Re: Mosley-Berto Set for Jan. 30
Apparently Berto has been talking a lot of trash to Mosley via twitter and youtube videos.
I really hope Mosley KO's him.
I read an interview with Steward today where he says SMM might underestimate Berto and not be able to get up for the fight because he is frustrated about not being able to get a bigger fight.
I don't see that happening though. I think half the reason he brutalized Margarito so bad would because he was frustrated about his divorce and let it out in the ring.
I think SSM punishes and knocks out loud mouth Berto

Re: Mosley-Berto Set for Jan. 30
For what it's worth, I read that Mosley said he's gonna ruin Berto's career. This seems unlike Shane to talk like this, perhaps he's eager to make a statement.

It was the Urango fight that I finally slammed my door on the fucker.

Re: Mosley-Berto Set for Jan. 30
Shane will win this fight. Berto is a good up and comer, but hes not ready for mosley at this point imo.

I know the situations are far from similar, but that immediately reminded me of Vernon Forrest (may he R.I.P.) who was normally such a mild-mannered guy (like SSM) talking all kinds of shit about Sergio Mora before their first fight.

In the past we've agreed on a lot of things....
this one is no exception.

Re: Mosley-Berto Set for Jan. 30
Mosley is going to pick apart Berto on the outside and jump in to finish the job where Berto poses no threat (on the inside).
I think Berto will never live up to his potential because his amazing handspeed made his wins relatively easy against a lower level of competition and he wasn't taught to correct the mistakes he was making. So he has cemented his bad habits into his brain. I fully believe in the championship rounds with Berto's speed waning and Sugar teeing off on him a towel from Berto's corner enters the ring.
