Z Gorres Collapses After Fight, In Critical Condition
Z Gorres in critical condition!
By Chris Cozzone
We’re sad to report that bantamweight contender Z Gorres is in critical condition and undergoing surgery in a Las Vegas Hospital at this moment to relieve pressure on the brain. He collapsed after winning a ten rounder over Luis Melendez. Our thoughts and prayers go out to this great fighter.

Re: Z Gorres Collapses After Fight, In Critical Condition
This stuff always seems to happen the week of big fights. Hope he pulls through, wonder if this has anything to do with him cutting weight improperly which has shown to cause these type of injuries.

Gorres was dropped in the last round. But managed to hold on. Hopefully he pulls out of this

It's possible, it still doesn't shut people up suggesting fighters go back to weighing in on the day  I also read some time ago people theorising that some people have fractionally thinner skulls, essentially they cant withstand too much head trauma. But it isn't the time for that discussion.
You can just hope for him, his family and his opponent that he comes through surgery and all's well.

Re: Z Gorres Collapses After Fight, In Critical Condition
Not good at all,do hope he makes full recovery, thinking of family.
Always a reality check when this happens, remember next time we slag a fighters record, standing in ranks,ability,etc....they all run the everyday & harsh risks that we as fans at times take for granted far to easily.

Re: Z Gorres Collapses After Fight, In Critical Condition
He'll be kept in a coma for a few days to hopefully stabilize his condition. Other than that I haven't heard anything.

Tragic! Hope he's ok, but his career is over

Re: Z Gorres Collapses After Fight, In Critical Condition
He's been upgraded to stable condition and is responding to stimuli which is thought to be a real good sign. Have no idea if he's really totally out of the woods or not.

Hopefully he pulls through out. On a related note, have there been any recent updates about Oscar Diaz? I was always a big fan of his.

yea i hope he continues to improve and makes a full recovery, Oscar Diaz is already back home, he pulled through and is expected to be able to live a good life, although he's never gonna be 100% again, obviously he'll never fight again, but given the situation that him and Gorres is in that's pretty irrelevant

Re: Z Gorres Collapses After Fight, In Critical Condition
Very good, he hasn't been in come too long, that's a very good sign, second one is to answer back to stimulus, means no paralyzing in sight, which is another very excellent thing. Now, let's see how long it takes for his left side to start to answer properly to the treatments but from what you're telling at the moment, it looks promising.
