Mayweather agrees to the fight...ball in Pac's corner

Re: Way faster than I expected
Merged.
Mayweather by UD. I cannot wait for this fight.

Re: Way faster than I expected
I can’t wait for it ! … Like every boxing fan I guess.
-
Re: Way faster than I expected
Sorry, i didn't see someone post this first. Should be a great fight. But i have a feeling Floyd is going to put on a boxing clinic.

Re: Way faster than I expected

Re: Way faster than I expected
Pacquiao should be the underdog.
Very hard fight for Pacquiao but he has the descipline, Talent and skills to do it.
-
Re: Way faster than I expected
Hardest Fight for Manny stylistically but hopefully Manny Pulls this one off. I have a lot more peace of mind now knowing PAC's durability and power in this weightclass. GO PACMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mayweather-Pacquiao fight nearly finalized - Boxing - Yahoo! Sports
-
Re: Way faster than I expected
gotta go with floyd on this one. he may even put on a nice little boxing clinic. GO MAYWEATHER JR.!!!
-
Re: Way faster than I expected
Thought they would be stuck on numbers forever.Still might.Ehhh...whats the undercard ?
-
Re: Way faster than I expected
NEARLY finalized
But in the mean time PAC has to run for office? What if he wins the election?
Have a feeling this isn't as close as the article leads us to believe.
-
Re: Way faster than I expected
I'm taking Pac on this one. The two times I did bet against him it was because I thought the opposition was too big and strong.
I never thought Floyd was too big or strong, just maybe too skilled. I think Pac has improved so much that his strength, speed and super combos will win the UD.
-
Re: Way faster than I expected
Did you read it Killersheep? The bout is being pushed to March so that it happens before the election. Still, you're right, didn't say it was finalized, so still could get derailed.

Re: Way faster than I expected

I did read it and no way in hell does this fight happen in March, not enough time for promotions, hell not even enough time to secure a reasonable venue.

But I think your right:-\

Re: Way faster than I expected
Going by this article I think PBF is ducking again.:p I figured I'd say it first since it seems like someone throws that out there after every single article/rumor somehow. Nice to see the fight of all time is getting finalized. I can't believe they agreed to the March date. Great for the fans.

Believe me I would love to be wrong, but to those of us that follow the storylines of boxing, know that this is THE fight to crown the best fighter of our generation. Which in reality's terms means about 6-7 months of actual negotiation so every mover in the sport gets a chance to get a piece of the financial pie.

Re: Way faster than I expected
Aw Yeah! Mayweather by decision. It'll probably be wrapped up on the cards by like the 10th & he'll coast til the end. Haters will say "Yeah he won but he didnt go for the KO!"
Now that it's just about signed, and if Pacquiao loses, who here will take away from Mayweather's win? What will your excuse be?

Pacquiao was focused on politics.

I think you pointed out the ugly truth. March is too soon. Even Arum said that.

Re: Way faster than I expected
I am so going to Necro this post if Pacquiao wins :)

why? i didnt say Pacquiao wouldnt win.
But i just know better than to believe Floyd Haters will give the guy his just due, even if he beats Pacquiao.
Lets not forget the "socks" fiasco surrounding the first JMM fight or the "gloves" fiasco surrounding the first Morales fight.
-
Re: Way faster than I expected
The socks and all that crap were all excuses. Even as a pacfan, I can admit to that. Going to the ring prepared and ready is part of the boxer's(and their team's) job.
Regarding the Floyd Haters will not give him his due thing, I believe it will all come down to how he wins the fight(if he does win the fight). If he wins via a boring desicion, we can expect lots of negative feedback. I he wins by a shutout or a KO, I think most fans will give him props for it. Granted, there will still be haters that will be making excuses, but it won't be as many compared if he wins by a boring UD running around the ring pot-shotting all night. IMO.

Oh really?!?:mad::confused::-\:eek:

Re: Way faster than I expected
Another pac thread to excite us in this fight but I still believe this fight will not happen. When Pac becomes a congressman ( i hope the chiongbans defeats him just like when Pac was defeated last time he ran for Congress), this fight will certainly not happen.

I just hope Floyd said f:censored:k it
Give Pac what he wants
Cause I'm going to kick his ass;D

Re: Way faster than I expected
I got Floyd by close decision.
-
Re: Way faster than I expected
I just hope that Mayweather will eat enough leather to swallow his attitude at the same time.
-
Re: Way faster than I expected
Here are some semingly random facts:
* Ricky Hatton fought J.L Castillo 51/2 Months before he fought Floyd Mayweather
* Many Pacquiao fought Ricky Hatton 5 months after he fought Oscar Dela Hoya
* Floyd Mayweather fought Zab Judah 41/2 months after he fought Sharmba Mitchell
* Many Pacquiao also fought David Diaz 3 months after he fought Juan Manuel Marquez.
I'm clutching at straws here of course. This is a MEGA fight that would need months for promotion purposes...
Or would it ???

That's pretty much exactly what he said to Oscar ;)
He gave him 70%, gave him a small ring, Reyes gloves... Everything.

Re: Way faster than I expected
It seems to good to be true and originally Freddie Roach wanted May because he did not feel Manny would be ready. This mega fight might be a rushed product and Manny gets blitzed early if it does happen in March. I hope I'm wrong.

March = in 5 months. Manny and Roach have almost half a year to prepare that, plenty enough if you ask me.

I agree with you but the wizard that is Roach did not feel it was enough time. Freddy knows his fighter. I'm pretty sure you can find the video amongst the pile of other Pac threads =).

March 13 = 3 and a half months AND negotiations aren't even finalized yet.
