Did anyone else know he was fighting tomorrow on Amir Khan bill?? i thought he had basically packed in for a bit.
He needs to pack it in. An average fighter at best.
He needs to knock it on the head have you seen the state of the guy he is fighting??
Im sorry but this guy Enzo was a world title holder ( given he was not the best around) , but they must be really worried about him to feed him this bum, the guy he is fighting is the sort of guy you would give to someone maybe in there second third fight.
The record of the guy he is fighting:
Jaksi: Fights 22 won 6 Lost 12 Drawn 4 :o.
Enzo is finished
Yeah he's fighting a complete bum.
But funnily enough i had a dream last night in which he was knocked out, then went insane and started attacking the referee, commentators, fans and anyone else. He was foaming at the mouth, really had lost it. In my dream i was thinking 'well, i always thought this would happen'.
Thought i'd share that with you guys. Maybe its a premonition.
Good luck hope he does well.
He needs to call it a day.Didnt know he was fighting on undercard tho he should win this fight lol
He said when Mike Tyson was in the UK that he spoke with him and Mike inspired him to have another go.
Just hope no one hits him with a paper towel or balled up napkin on the way to the ring or he will lose by KO in the isle
I hope I never have a dream about Enzo Maccarinelli and I hope they announce the name of the guy he's fighting live on TV.
Been in the local press.
He is saying the same old stuff about being the real Enzo this time.
The only good thing about him is his name.
Even more funny when you realise he's Welsh! Enzo Maccarinelli, sounds so exotic.
When I saw the thread "Enzo Maccarinelli" I figured the body of the post when I opened it would be "sucks."
**Shugs**
Enzo isn't past his best imo, I just don't think he was that good to start with.
As soon as his level of competition rose with Haye, he went on a downward spiral most thankly to that weak chin of his.
AS has been mentioned, I think the David Haye fight was the tipping point for Enzo....realising that he hasn't got the chin to go in there with a banger must've been tough to take.
Hard to see how he can rebuild from such a disadvantaged position now, but all the best to him if he thinks he can get back up to title level.
How good is Rob Norton ?
I know it's a step down from where Enzo was a few years ago but maybe going back to the British & Commonwealth level might do him some good.
Could a Macca-Norton fight be made?
He wasn't exactly in with top competition, but for those interested Enzo scored a first round KO over Jaksi.
i stayed after khan fight & enzo came on last (around 11-30) only about hundred watched thought it was bit sad really . Looked like they both had taxis waiting outside for khan party
What was the point of that fight seriously??
I know Enzo is lacking a bit of confidance right now, but come on? Firstly Enzo is 29 years of age no spring chicken if he is serious about making a solid comeback ( imo he is done ) What the hell is he doing fighting a guy who I might consider as an opponent for a promising pro making his pro debut. Enzo hasnt got time to be pissing about he needed to fight a 10 rounder on saturday against a solid fighter who can take a punch to see what he really had left not some local bouncer who my gran would probaly have a shot against.
this time 2 years ago the world was enzos oyster
decent fighter with a class trainer set for the biggest fight of his life. Enzo had shitloads of potential and was a genuine class operator at cruiser.
Haye took him apart because he was a class above. He got extremely careless against Afolabi and paid the price.
But the moment he got knocked out by that unknown last time out that should of been it..
Hate when people claim someone as young as 29 is finished as a fighter. But unless enzo completely re-invents himself and accepts he is back at the bottom of the ladder he would be probably best off calling it a day
I think he should start at british level and work his way up.(or quit)
At least the fighter he will face wil be in there to win and make a good fight of it.
Yeah, go back to basics, either a Commonwealth or British title and start building back up towards an European title shot. I don't think he'll get any favours in trying to get back towards a world title shot, he's got some hard nights' work ahead if he really wants it.
I really like Enzo as I have met him a few times and he is alwys a nice bloke but he needs sombody to tell hime where he really is in the boxing world.
Ro Norten would be a good comeback fight for him.Norten would be in it to win it and give Enzo a good test.
Enzo had been sparked by journeyman Swaby, nearly knocked out by Seldon and then when he improved had a life and death with Hobson and Dominguez.
The world was never his oyster.
And unfortunately his promoter took the bait from Haye and Booth which effectively ended old Enzo's career.
His problems are mental not physical, so at 29 it's not completely impossible for him. I agree the British route is the way for him to go now, but one more performance like the Lebedev one and he needs to hang them up.
I think he has, hence the level of this opponent.
Let him do it, who is anyone to tell any boxer they shouldnt be fighting?
He has to make a living and just has to refine the way he fights a bit so he doesnt take shots, maybe he needs better sparring, bigger sparring partners so hes learning better defence:confused:
While there are people making a few quid out of boxing by losing everytime they fight, some getting knocked out or stopped everytime, why cant someone who was a world champ keep plodding along:p
Some good fighters fall apart mentally after being dominated or knocked out for the first time, Enzo may just fall into that area. Seems a good sort.
Hector "Macho" Camacho used to be a all round fearless fighter, that is until he met his match. Edwin Rosario gave him a few good cracks. Hector (and Rosario) was a excellent fighter who discovered how to peddle fast the hard way.;D
He sure did, after his prime. You must be refering to the beating Chavez gave him. I should have been clear, Edwin & Camacho had two totaly different styles. The Camacho i meant was the one that peaked around 1984-1989, i hated the guy, still he was one of the best fighters of his era.
The Rosario fight was 1986, well worth watching.
I seen the fight mate was kind of saying away from boxing in general...he is hardly able to be made out when he speaks his slur is so bad from taking punches...
I hated Camacho because of the way he acted after beating Leonard, a washed up Leonard with only 1 eye....Just too cocky...
I loved him fighting DLH he was throughly embaressed....His kid annoys me as well
As long as he fights guys with less than 10 wins, i give him a small shot.
