Which fights do you hope to see in 2010?
I'll breakdown mine by weightclass.
Heavyweight: Vitali vs. Haye - The press and hype are there, the titles are there, and the public interest is there. Too much momentum for this not to happen.
Cruiserweight: Adamek vs. Cunningham II - I appreciate Adamek testing the waters at heavyweight, but let's be honest he's way too small and not nearly elusive enough to beat either of the brothers Klit. I would to see what was a very close and exciting cruiserweight battle.
Light Heavyweight: B-Hop vs. Dawson - Does the king keep his crown or is it a time for a changing of the guard. Both guys bring something special to the table. This is a fight that truly should happen.
Super Middleweight: Bute vs. the winner of the Super 6. - I know the tournament should last well into 2011, but a boy can dream can't he? Bute will probably be left out in the cold at least until winter 2010 to get the scraps from the two eliminated fighters out of the round robin section.
Middleweight: Pavlik vs. Sturm - Gotta crown a true champ here. I am curious to see if Pavlik will be able to use his hands like he used to. If he can't put full force into his punches he will be pretty much useless in the ring.
Light Middleweight: Martinez vs. Williams II - Get it down to where the fight should have been, had Williams not been preparing for Pavlik.
Welterweight: Pacquiao vs. Mayweather - no need to explain any further.
Light Welterweight: Bradley vs. Khan - I think this would be an exciting fight, you can make a case for both winning this in a very big way.
Lightweight: Guzman vs. Valero - Yes Guzman looked like ass against Funeka, but without the crazy reach of Funeka the equation changes defensively for Guzman, who could still cause fits for the slugger that is Valero. Valero well we know the power he brings to the table.
Super Featherweight: Humberto Soto vs. Roman Martinez - Puerto Rico vs. Mexico a war for the ages, however you look at this it's going to be an exciting fight.
Featherweight: Gamboa vs. JML - which one was rushed more? Both guys now have big question marks about their chins, both guys try to set records for punch output, gotta love this matchup
Super Bantamweight: Caballero vs. Nishioka - Caballero has to be one of the most intimidating guys at this weight class, he's awkward as hell and has a ridiculous reach. Nishioka has some great attributes the most important if this fight happens is his straight as an arrow punching.
Bantamweight: Hasegawa vs. Moreno - A fight at the highest technical level, speed chess in the ring, a fight that with the right exposure could put a big spotlight on this overlooked gem of a weightclass.
Super Flyweight: Darchinyan vs. Cazares - Should be good action back and forth, be great to see who es mas macho.
Flyweight: Koki Kameda vs. Kaovichit - Kameda has phenomenal skill, but has not had the pull to fight a contender until this year when he showed his talent wasn't just against tomato cans when he schooled Naito. Kaovichit, may not be getting any favors from the judges, but he leaves it in the ring and brings a real challenge to the table.
Light Flyweight: Viloria vs. Segura - IF Viloria maintains his interest in the sport, which it looks like he has lately this is an exciting fight. Segura brings his awkward leaning/roll style against the excellent counter punching of Viloria.
Strawweight: Roman Gonzalez vs. Sithsamerchai - There are no bigger names than these two at straw, and with good reason the skill level these guys have shown lately puts them miles past their competition.

Re: Which fights do you hope to see in 2010?
B-Hop/RJJ
Mayweather/Pacman
Khan/Bradley
Pavlik/Williams
Williams/Martinez 2
Haye/Wladimir
that's probably the top ones.. although I could list another 20 fights easily.

Feel free to list more, there are no rules here. You really still want to see B-Hop/RJJ?

Re: Which fights do you hope to see in 2010?
Jr. Flyweights - Giovanni Segura vs. Rodel Mayol - normally i would have opted for segura and viloria but i want to see that little rat cheat mayol go down in a big way. segura by ugly KO.
Jr. Flyweights - Ulises Solis vs. Brian Viloria - this rematch might actually happen. i know solis wants viloria bad and he should secure the rematch. solis by UD.
Super Flyweights - Nonito Donaire vs. Vic Darchinyan II - has darchinyan improved his defense enough to withstand donaire's counterpunching? who knows but right now i think the fight is a pick'em.
Bantamweights - Abner Mares vs. Marvin Sonsona - two good prospects against each other by a vacated title. mares will school sonsona and possible KO him.
Bantamweights - Hozumi Hasegawa vs. Yonnhy Perez - big fan of perez and i think he's got the goods to beat hasegawa. for one, he has the skills and chin to hold off this japanese little monster. if fight is in japan then perez needs a KO.
Featherweights - Chris John vs. Celestino Caballero - finally someone to beat the crap out of chris john. caballero by nasty KO (even in thailand) but that's if john doesn't run all night like he did against juan manuel marquez.
Featherweights - after caballero takes it out of john i would like to see him fight juanma lopez in a mega-match. undecided on outcome right now.
Super Featherweights - Robert Guerrero vs. Humberto Soto - this would be a great battle. big fan of both fighters but i think soto might take this one.
Lightweights - Juan Manuel Marquez vs. Edwin Valero - great matchup between a great HOFer and a great puncher. if marquez doesn't get caught he should outbox valero and possibly TKO him late.
Jr. Welterweights - Amir Khan vs. Timothy Bradley - Bradley ain't no Salita, period. bradley takes this one and wins a decision even in britain.
Jr. Welterweights - Timothy Bradley vs. Victor Ortiz - on paper this looks like a rematch in Bradley's favor but ortiz can also box and he has the power to give bradley all kinds of problems. still, bradley by decision.
Welterweights - Saul "Canelo" Alvarez vs. Andre Berto - i would like to see this fight in late 2010 after alvarez gets a few more fights under his belts. alvarez definitely has the skills and power to beat berto but might not be ready until 2011.
jr. Middleweights - Alfredo Angulo vs. James Kirkland - this would be an all-out war. both have great power but i think kirkland has the faster hands and better boxing skills. expect multiple knockdowns in this fight with kirkland possibly stopping angulo.
Jr. Middleweights - Paul Williams vs. Sergio Martinez II - why not? i think everyone would love to see this one again but this time for Martinez' title!
Middleweights - Paul Williams vs. Kelly Pavlik - if not martinez then williams could fight pavlik for his middleweight title. i used to think pavlik wouldn't have a chance until williams fought martinez. it showed me that williams can be hurt and pavlik his much harder than martinez. pavlik by late, late TKO.
Lucian Bute vs. Andre Ward - because of the super six tournament going on i think this fight could happen in 2011. what a war! great fighters but i've got to give it to ward in a great fight.
Jean Pascal vs. Chad Dawson - this would be a great fight as well. pascal i think is vastly underrated and i think he would give dawson hell. still, i think dawson would probably win by decision.
Wladimir Klitschko vs. David Haye - forget vitali vs. haye. vitali is showing signs of age. i want to see two dynamic KO artists fight each other. if wladimir doesn't get hit early he should be able to handle haye.

Rematch of Margo-Martinez.
-
Re: Which fights do you hope to see in 2010?
Adamek vs. Arreola - Just because I think it'll make 1 helluva fight.
Huck vs. USS II - There has to be a rematch.
BCD vd. Pascal - It's time to settle this shit once and for all. Fuck what you heard.
Bute vs. The Winner of Super 6 - That'll tell us who's the undisputed champ.
Mundine vs. Sturm - Just because I think anyone of these 2 could outbox Pavs. I'd rather see these try to outbox each other then 1 of them outboxing the Pav.
Angulo vs. Kirkland - Is Kirkland allowed to train and fight while he awaits or is he "restrained" per say?
Winner of Berto/SSM vs. Winner of Pac/PBF - Do I need to explain this one?
Bradley vs. Maidana - Really interested on this one. I think it has the makings of a great fight.
JMM vs. Winner of DeMarco/Valero - Are they ready?
Soto vs. Rocky - Can you imagine this...
Gamboa vs. John - Just to try and close out the division.
JML vs. Caballero - This would be huge I think Caballero beats him.
Moreno vs. Hasegawa - Will Hasegawa ever have a reason to leave Japan?
Vic vs. Nonit - It's well cooked up now and somewhat over cooked but we gotta see it.
PongsaShit vs. Anyone that can kick his ass - This muthafucker doesn't go away. Can this muthafucker just disappear and fuck Sulaiman for feeding him the WBC strap again.
Segura vs. Winner of Viloria/Solis - Would like to see this one just for fun.
Garcia vs. Oleydong - Dream match doubt it'll ever happen.
Some others that are with mixed with fighters from different weight classes:
JML vs. Gamboa - It's gotta happen
Adamek vs. Guillermo - Who's the best Cruiser?
Cotto vs. Foreman - Capture a 3rd title
Fury vs. Guinn - The test for Fury
JMM vs. Bradley - JMM captures his 4th title and becomes the 1st Mexican to do so.
Maidana vs. Valero - A shoot out.
-
Re: Which fights do you hope to see in 2010?
I'd like to see these fights.
Mosley vs. Berto
Pacquiao Vs. Bradley
Williams Vs. Bute
JMM Vs. Collazo
-
Re: Which fights do you hope to see in 2010?
I will only go with some that haven't been talked yet and your opinions on the matter are much welcome:
Chambers vs Johnson (for some reason, this one would highly intrigue me)
Pavlik vs Williams (finally)
Haye vs Povotkin (that could be all fire's up and very entertaining, plus it's meaningful as how both are or not good)
Vasquez vs Marquez IV (all talent, all action)
------------------------------
MMA
Emilianemko vs Lesnar (as the title says fight anything can go on and I am sick of hearing Brock is the new Messiah of HW)
Rua vs Machida (so close in the first one, I think Rua won and deserves another shot)
-

-
Re: Which fights do you hope to see in 2010?
Heavyweight
Haye vs Vitali/Wladimir - Either would be a massive fight & a win for Haye would be great because it would set up a fight with the other brother.
Adamek vs Arreola - Would be a great war & despite Chris' size advantage, I think he's vulnerable to speed. A 50/50 in my eyes.
Cruiserweight
Adamek vs Cunningham II - no explanation needed
Huck vs Afolabi II - Was a good close fight first time round & if Ola can up his workrate, he'll win the rematch.
Light-Heavyweight
Dawson vs Cloud - I think this would be a good fight & I'd rather see this than Dawson/Hopkins which would be a bore imo & I wish Hopkins would just retire.
Pascal vs Bute - This would be an awesome fight in Canada & I think has the potential to be a classic.
Mack vs Cloud - Would be a war, although I think Cloud outlasts him.
Super-Middleweight
Bute vs Pavlik - Pavlik needs to take on a challenge eventually.
Andrade vs Stieglitz II - Andrade deserves a title shot against the man he beat after taking the most difficult challenges in trying to win a world title.
Middleweight
Pavlik vs Williams/Martinez/Sturm - Same as the Bute/Pavlik fight
Light-Middleweight
Williams vs Martinez II - I thought Martinez was robbed first time, he deserves a rematch at the weight it should have been at.
Alfredo Angulo vs Miguel Cotto - I'd like to see Cotto try win a belt at a 3rd weight & I think this would be a great fight.
Welterweight
Pacquiao/Mayweather winner vs Mosley/Berto winner - As both of these are set I think the winners should fight each other. I think it would be a great way to bow out as well for any of Mayweather, Pacquiao or Mosley.
Cotto vs Clottey II - Basically same sentiments as Williams/Martinez II
Light-Welterweight
Khan vs Hatton - Would be huge in Britain
Khan vs Bradley - Would in many mind be for the linear championship should Pacquiao have vacated.
Hatton vs Marquez - Just so I can see Marquez live & watch Hatton KO'd again.
Urango vs Maidana - War
Alexander vs Ortiz - A chance to see what both are made of.
Lightweight
Funeka vs Valero - Would have said Guzman/Valero, but Funeka 'won' so he gets the fight.
Katsidis vs Mitchell - Is Katsidis ever in a bad fight? No, & Mitchell rarely is so this could be great.
Super-Featherweight
Soto vs Martinez - Mexico/PR rivalry is just too good to ignore
Featherweight
Lopez vs Gamboa - Would be an excellent fight
John vs Caballero - Caballero's reach would mean John gets drawn into a fight.
Marquez vs Vazquez IV & V should Marquez win the 4th fight.
Super-Bantamweight
Rendall Munroe vs Bernard Dunne - Good fight over here
Bantamweight
Hasegawa vs anyone in the division - I think Hasegawa is an excellent fighter & can beat anyone in the class. If he comes to the US people will start to realize just how good he is.
Agbeko vs Morel - I just want to see Morel KO'd.
Agbeko vs Perez II - A rematch to a great first fight.
Super-Flyweight
Darchinyan vs Donaire II - Whoever gets KO'd I'll be happy ;D
Flyweight
Koki Kameda vs Pongsaklek - Kameda batters him imo, but don't like Pongsaklek's hideous opposition so would like seeing it.
Light-Flyweight
Calderon vs Viloria - A win for Calderon should see him retire a 1st ballot HoFer. I think this is a great fight & one I can't wait to see.
Strawweight
Gonzalez vs Sithsamerchai - What Killer said.
-
Re: Which fights do you hope to see in 2010?
I agree with everyone who said Chad Dawson vs. Jean Pascal
I'd happily pay for that.
-

Personly, fellas, I think Adamek would have a rather easy night with Arreola. Adamek would certainly land a greater variaty of shots than Vitali did when he fought Cristobal.
-
Re: Which fights do you hope to see in 2010?
Has anypne mentioned Haye v Adamek at Heavyweight? I think Adamek's durability, fitness and decent power could test and maybe beat Haye.
-
Re: Which fights do you hope to see in 2010?
Pretty much all i would have chose already have been by many on here.
stand-outs would be :
PBF V Mosely - would love to see how they would handle each others speed.
Now I know this will NEVER happen but Vitali V Wladimir, would be great if they had a bust up over a woman or something similar and decided to settle their scores in the ring for all to see which one is the best.
Some great pick Jaz by the way ;) must have took ya bloody ages to do all that :o
-
Re: Which fights do you hope to see in 2010?
Heavyweight: Vitali vs. Haye or Wlad vs Haye - The only big fights that can happen in the division right now.
Cruiserweight:Hopkins vs Adamek - Adamek vs Hopkins would be a Legacy fight for Bhop and for him to finish his career with a win over the best at 200 pounds would be a great end to his long career.
Light Heavyweight: Hopkins vs. Dawson - Interesting matchup of styles and the biggest fight that can happen at 175.
Super Middleweight: Hopkins vs Bute - If the two fights above don't go down, i would love to see this fight. This is another tough fight for Hopkins and would be his third division title if he was to win.
Middleweight: Pavlik vs Williams - Would be a excellent clash of styles and is probably the only meaningful fight at the weight currently.
Light Middleweight: Martinez vs. Williams II - The first fight was awesome but was in the wrong weight class. These guys are the best at 154 so lets get it on !
Welterweight: Pacquiao vs. Mayweather - Two best fighters in the world, nothing more needs to be said.
Light Welterweight: Bradley vs. Khan - Top fighters at 140 and a good clash of styles and would unify two titles at 140.
Lightweight: Funeka vs. Valero - A good clash of styles and are both top dogs at 135.
Super Featherweight: ???
Featherweight: Juan Manuel Lopez vs Gamboa - Two top young fighters who can bang and have plenty of potential.
Super Bantamweight: ???
Bantamweight: ???
Super Flyweight: ???
Flyweight: ???
Light Flyweight: ???
Strawweight: ???

Top fights of 2010
At each weight class, what fight would you make for 2010?
I'm only gonna do weight classes I keep up with. Yall can add more if you want. I'd say:
122 - Rafa Marquez vs Isreal Vasquez 4: Each fight has been close and most importantly thrilling.
126 - Juanma Lopez vs Yuriorkis Gamboa: Juanma moves up to a more naturall weight in this matchup of boxing's most exciting and talented little men.
130 - None: Anybody got one?
135 - Edwin Valero vs Juan Manuel Marquez: Is the Venezuelan knockout machine for real? Does Marquez still have a lot left in the tank?
140 - Timothy Bradley vs Amir Khan: The future of the P4P list meet in a high stakes matchup to determine who the new king of the 140 pound division is and also who will be boxing's most talented young star.
147 - Pacquiao vs Mayweather: Nuff said.
154 - Paul Williams vs Shane Mosley: The guys nobody want to fight, fight each other.
160 - Kelly Pavlik vs Paul Williams: Kelly hasn't fought a real challenger at 160 in a while. Paul can span across divisions to continue to give boxing fans the best fights.
168 - Joe Calzaghe vs Andre Ward: Don't know who will win the Super Six but let's assume Ward wins in 2010 sometime. Joe Calzaghe ain't no spring chicken but he is still the best fighter in the history of the 168 pound division. He returns to boxing to take on the Olympic gold medalist, undefated Andre Ward, the heir apparent to the throne Calzaghe retired from.
175 - Bernard Hopkins vs Chad Dawson: These guys should fight. Old lion vs Young tiger. Past vs future.
200 - None: Anybody got one?
201 and up - David Haye vs Wladimir Klitschko: Honestly, at this point i'm leaning more towards wanting to see Haye fight Vitali instead but Haye vs Wlad would be the spectacle that we've been waiting for for a long time.

Re: Top fights of 2010
Not wanting to offend anyone, but the lower divisions tend to have very little interest in Britain, mainly as Ian Napa (5'1") is pretty much the only one of any standing that can make the little weights so I'll start further up.
122 - Rendall Munroe stepping up against any of the title holders.
135 - Marquez v Valero
140 - The Battle of Britain - Hatton v Khan
147 - Only one other mentioning Pac v FMJ?
160 - not a great division, but Pavlik v Mundine would probably be the closest to a big fight there.
168 - The Super Six continuing on schedule!
175 - Jean Pascal v Tavoris Cloud
200 - Huck v Green (if Green doesn't go back down to light-heavy)
Heavies - Haye in a "The Big Three" round robin against both Klitschko's.
-

But the real fights i wanna see are JMM VS PAC and MOSLEY VS MAYWEATHER! guess ill have to keep dreaming :-\
-
Re: Top fights of 2010
I know this will never happen but I'd like to see Williams fight Mosely, then after he beats shane, fight the winner of Pacman Mayweather. My guess is both Pacman and Mayweather want nothing to do with Williams.

Re: Which fights do you hope to see in 2010?

...

From the rumors emerging from Montreal, that's one of the things actively discussed and it could easily happen.

Re: Which fights do you hope to see in 2010?
Hatton comes back against Marquez.
Barrera gets a final title shot and retires.
Toney fights someone in the top 10....Arreola is a very winnable fight.
Pac/Mayweather finally gets settled.
Jones Jr. fights Hopkins and surprises everyone.
Cotto/Clottey rematch.
Amir Khan/Vitali Klitschko.
