What's so interesting about it?
It's incredible to think that it's the same person really.. With other great fighters you can usually see the signs early on, watching this for the first time who would imagine that Pacquiao was even remotely one to look out for.. He does almost nothing promising that I see, truly amazing the way he has evolved as a fighter. Even to watch him against Ledwaba or Barrera where he was largely one dimensional, he is LEAPS ahead of himself here as far as athletecism and punching form etc.
The punching power,speed, stamina and fury is what he has always had. The straight left was always he's weapon. That one weapon was good enough along with his attribute to destroy his earlier oppenents.

this fight was 11 years ago. pacquiao koed this guy in the 8th round and got his 1st ever world championship and lineal title. interesting fight.

The biggest improvement I see in Pac-man is his balance during his flurries. He used to punch to fast for his feet and used to have to take a step forward with his left foot after his punches were done to maintain balance. Now everthing is in lockstep and it is showing up in his power.
His footwork in general is lightyears past where it was then. It's really weird seeing him just walk in maybe a jab goes maybe not. Nowadays he's like a rabbit with a shotgun.Quote:

You think so on Mayweather? I see him as basically the same. He has that olympic style of boxing that has him scoring and moving. He seems to get a little more flat footed later in fights as his opponent doesnt seem to be as much of a threat. He did it pretty early against Zab Judah.Quote:

As far as Manny, no way you can use any of his early fights as any barometer to judge him, hes a completely different fighter now, but that doesnt change the fact that his style still may have problems with a good boxer.
Floyd used to square up alot more in his earlier fights, and would actually go in for the kill, his style is very different, he wasn't as sharp defensively as he is now, basically would just block with his forearms instead of the shoulder roll, it's not as drastic a change as Pacquiao's but the Mayweather looked completely different early onQuote:

thing is he still looked a lot more aggressive against Diego Corrales, IMO he became a complete defensive fighter after the Castillo fight, and well he hasn't really been in a close fight since then except maybe the DLH fightQuote:

Listen, when Floyd was in with Gatti, he was 'alot more flat footed and aggressive'... Think about it ;)
In regards to my earlier post: What i really mean is, Floyd hasn't reallly learned any new tricks, new moves... Isn't really showing a new skill set. Neither is Mosley and IMO neither is Marquez.
They were all pulling the same moves (offensively & defensively), had the same punching technique, same habits, same flaws and to me, as far as mechanics go, their are all round technically similar (now to then).
Manny Pacquiao is a completely different fighter yet he isn't any less aggresive :p
Mayweather hasn't really had to change, Mosley became a lot more technical in the higher weight classes especially 154 (clinching alot more, and not as aggressive), and Marquez, well he basically just has perfect technique and a brilliant mind in the ring, neither one of these 3 were as horribly flawed as Manny to have to evolve so drasticallyQuote:
