What does the winner of Pac-man-Mayweather do afterwards?
I think we all know what Manny will do, fight the next guy in line. Another reason why he's so popular. Doesn't really seem to take a fight off. But what does Mayweather do if he wins? Fight the winner of Berto-Mosely? Retire? Is there anything left for him to do/prove if he wins this fight?

Re: What does the winner of Pac-man-Mayweather do afterwards?
I think if the fight is remotely competitive there will be a rematch. If its one sided and Mosley wins the Berto fight the winner will face Mosley.
Manny might retire win or lose. Floyd will fight on.

Re: What does the winner of Pac-man-Mayweather do afterwards?
I think Manny will just retire. I think he might be thinking about the wars he's been in and wants to have something left when he retires. If Mayweather wins, he waits to see who wins Mosley-Berto. If Mosley wins, he fights Shane, if Andre wins it depends on how much popularity he gets out of it. But after that fight I don't see where Mayweather goes. Maybe Cotto if he can rebuild himself.

shit themselves because Amir Khan looms on the horizon ;)

Re: What does the winner of Pac-man-Mayweather do afterwards?
All roads lead to Shane, no one can avoid him forever.

Re: What does the winner of Pac-man-Mayweather do afterwards?
There is already a premise for this one. "Rematch"
A Split Decision or close win are the obvious.
But another obvious one is a controversy brews between Roach and Mayweather (Sr. or Roger) and a DQ happens...perhaps a hit on the break. A stoppage from a cut by a headbutt.
There are a number of possible scenarios that could play out. The temptation is far too great not to make play off any incident to create drama which would make an enormous gate even larger.

Re: What does the winner of Pac-man-Mayweather do afterwards?
If Floyd wins he goes to a strip club and makes it rain. If Pac win he goes home to the Phillipines and gives away most of his money to freeloading Flips.

If Mayweather wins, he'll simply try to make it wait to the point where Shane is 100% shot. If Pacquiao Wins, let's see which clauses Roach asks for or if Pacman is not tempted to take a 2 years break to get involved into politics or something like that.

Re: What does the winner of Pac-man-Mayweather do afterwards?
If Pacquiao wins without controversy, he retires. He'll have nothing more to prove. Only if he wins in controversial circumstances would a rematch with Mayweather be enough to tempt him back.
If Mayweather wins, he will have a rematch with Pacquiao if it's close enough or controversial, or he will fight Shane Mosley if he beats Berto. If Berto wins, he may fight him if there's enough hype around Berto from HBO (which I suspect there might be).

Re: What does the winner of Pac-man-Mayweather do afterwards?
Don't really see why everyone thinks Mosley will be a tough fight, yeah he looked good against Margarito but only the fight before that Mayorga was pretty close to beating him... not sure Shanes got that much left, I won't be surprised if Berto takes him...

I think its more because of the money that it represents which seems to be the only thing that drives fighters to fight each other these days, not mention Mosley is coming off a win over Margarito.

Roll around in piles of money with a big smile? Loser prob rolls around in piles of money too but just not as big a grin? :dontknow:

Re: What does the winner of Pac-man-Mayweather do afterwards?
Pac may see mileage in the 3rd Marquez fight win or lose, especially if Marquez destroys Hatton.

:lolhaha: Did you read what you just wrote? I know it helps a lot to win. The biggest guarantee ever was $25 Million that went to Oscar and these boys both are getting $20 Million guaranteed and then more piled on top of that. I can't see anything but grins on both faces....win and lose. Floyd for certain.

Re: What does the winner of Pac-man-Mayweather do afterwards?
i have a feeling that if pacquiao wins a congressional seat in general santos city, his life is going to be in grave danger. just read that two of his ardent supporters were gunned down a few days ago. this is not a very good sign for pacquiao. i also know that pacquiao as a congressman will be easily manipulated by some around him. as much as pacquiao is considered the lord and savior in his home country, there are others who would make a big statement by assassinating him or his family.

Re: What does the winner of Pac-man-Mayweather do afterwards?
Rematch if result is somewhat controversial. If PBF clearly wins, retirement or Hatton? Preferred choice is Mosley of course if he wins in January, but I don't see what Mosley has done to make PBF change his mind and fight him, other than calling him out after Floyd's Marquez win. Whatever your opinion of it, Floyd prioritizes his health and his "hit, not get hit" strategy over his legacy.
If Pacquiao wins, retirement or maybe one more fight with Marquez at 140? It would pay as much as Mosley and would be less risk, right? Plus, removes any doubt to his legacy regarding his Marquez win/draw.

You can forget a rematch with Marquez at 140, it would be too "tough" for him and too dangerous, he'd rather fight some middle name around his actual weight class or fight the dangerous big names once they are shot.

Re: What does the winner of Pac-man-Mayweather do afterwards?
If floyd wins he'll shoot right over to the I.R.S. If pac wins he'll head over to shane m's to pay him for the juice. Fruit juice...what'd you think i meant.

Re: What does the winner of Pac-man-Mayweather do afterwards?
This will be fight 1 of 2 in 2010. It will be competitive and it will be close.
-
Re: What does the winner of Pac-man-Mayweather do afterwards?
People keep saying SHane, but he has to win his fight first and it will be a very tough one if Berto is at his best. The winner of that seems the only plausible choice for Mayweather after facing Pacquiao, if he wins. If not I think Manny retires.

Re: What does the winner of Pac-man-Mayweather do afterwards?
There probably won't be a winner of Pac-May since Pac is refusing blood tests for PEDs and there won't be a fight.
-
Re: What does the winner of Pac-man-Mayweather do afterwards?
concerning blood tests for the mayweather/pacquiao fight, i don't know why roach is so adamantly opposed to these blood tests. i mean, if he doesn't have anything to hide and as long as mayweather submits blood samples then what's the problem? i read somewhere that mayweather sr. scoffed at roach's claim that a blood test six weeks before the fight might negatively impact pacquiao mentally. WHAT A LOAD OF CRAP! this is outrageous and just adds fuel to the fire that pacquiao is on roid/ped's.

He's not. He said he was all for according to an interview to ESPN: Testing fuss jeopardizes Manny Pacquiao-Floyd Mayweather fight - ESPN
"I have no problem with the testing whatsoever," Roach said then. "They can do whatever kind of drug testing they want. They're scared of Manny and scared of his power. He'll pass any test in the world."
Schaefer said he hoped it was simply a "miscommunication" on the Pacquiao side.
