Pacquiao successfully files law suit
Manny Pacquiao files lawsuit against Floyd Mayweather over comments - ESPN
The fight is over guys. I seriously doubt if both will ever step into the ring together. This reminds me of Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens filing lawsuits to say they're not on steroids.
-
Re: Pacquiao successfully files law suit
What a disgrace Pacquioa has become.
-
Re: Pacquiao successfully files law suit
He's been drug tested many times and has always been clean - unlike Bonds and Clemens.
"The executive director of the Nevada State Athletic Commission, Keith Kizer, said that Pacquiao has now amassed ten drug tests in “Sin City,” and every one of his samples have been returned clean." Link
He could very well win if the case proceeds. Unvalidated claims of steriod use is a pretty good reason to file a defamation suit.
-
Re: Pacquiao successfully files law suit
I am so pissed right now. Really? our p4p king would rather enter the courtroom than give a tiny amount of blood. I gotta join in on calling him a coward now.
Pacquiao is taking away the fight I was most looking forward to in 2010, this is bullshit

When did they take a drug test?

Neither did Mosley and that was doing the exact same test 11 times in Vegas.

Well I guess this is good news for all the Judge Judy fans on here. But, there is no good news for boxing fans.

Oh well it doesn't matter, Pac's legacy will be like Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens, Sammy Sosa, the Pittsburgh Steelers of the 70s, all drug cheats.

Same here man, believe me. I was just waiting for Pacquiao's camp to come out and say ok we'll take the blood tests and boom we're on, the biggest fight we could possibly hope for in our generation. But now I have been denied that and I am pissed beyond words.

Floyd has never tested positive either but has never been subjected to random blood tests, does that make him guilty too?

I think you could add boxing in general as a sport just like you can add the MLB. Both have a record of horrible drug testing rules.

Floyd was willing to take the tests though.............Pacquiao would rather go to court than take the tests.
FUCK ME, I am mad. Can you please just get your idol to take the test so we can see the fight or would you rather watch this in court?
-
Re: Pacquiao successfully files law suit
Hey, I'm with you on that, I want to see this fight just like everyone else. I wish the Nevada Commission would just make it a requirement and be done with it.
-
Re: Pacquiao successfully files law suit
I feel the most for the Pacquaio fans that said all along, "Pac will take the random tests, he'll come up clean and he'll whoop Mayweather." I doubt any one of those things will happen now, never mind the lot.
We don't want to watch courtroom drama Pacquiao. What you're doing is disgraceful to the sport of boxing.

The problem with Pacquiao is he wants all the talking to be done in the ring. The Law Suit is because he wanted to them to shut the hell up. He never says anything bad about anyone so why should they accuse him? It just pisses me off that he couldn't find a way to shut them up by taking the tests.

Everyone wants PBF to shut up and noone likes giving blood. But this is all happening because Pac for whatever reason won't take the damn test.

Don't tell me that you don't realize the politics within team Pacquiao. He doesn't have to say anything bad because he gets his team (including Roach 'the mouth') to say it all for him. This protects his sparkling image.
...And for the record it was only ever Floyd Sr that accused Pacquiao of being on steroids, that was over a month ago and no one (including myself) payed any attention. It's only since him and his team have been behaving so erratically that everyone has gotten so suspicious.

You are 10000% right.. Pacquiao is a disgrace and a coward, he Fuked himself over royally on this one, the dumb bastard gaffed at a 40 million dollar payday and rather amass legal fees in a battle he wont win..
GUILTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Pacquiao successfully files law suit
This fight was going to be our generations Ali vs. Frazier and instead it's gonna be Rowe vs.Wade fuckin disgrace
-
Re: Pacquiao successfully files law suit
Very, very dissapointing. I was hoping it wouldn't come to this and that somehow Pac would see sense and just take the test, but he is obviously at the point of no return and is in the process of alienating himself amongst serious boxing fans too. Nobody cares less about a Malignaggi fight. It is Mayweather/Pacquiao with the names together that the entire boxing world has been clamouring for and it has been selfishly taken away from us.
Shame on Manny Pacquiao. I have lost a lot of respect for him over this.

Let us just hope that some good comes out of this sh*t-storm and random blood testing is made the norm in this sport.
-
Re: Pacquiao successfully files law suit
is it really over? i mean the fight is off? over a random blood test?
all things point to pac taking peds! i sure wish he aint but everything says he is until he actually takes the test we will never know.
i am a huge pac fan but and ive been defending him here for the longest time. please pac take the fucking test and prove that ur not juicing.
but in case youve been proven to do so, then ill be no longer a fan.

Now as much as I wanted to see this fight, no way does it equal Ali-Frazier. That was 2 undefeated HW champions squaring off.
At most this fight would have been another Hagler-Leonard. A classic come forward fighter against a slick boxer.

I meant in terms of notoriety
The current p4p vs. prior p4p. The best defensive fighter of today vs. the best offensive fighter of today. The two highest paid fighters in the sport. This would have been with out a doubt the biggest event of this generation.

Re: Pacquiao successfully files law suit
i cant find the logic here, if pac is really juicing then why not just go off peds for this fight go on take the tests youll test neg ofcourse then fight pbf. if he loses then be it, rather than cancel the fight then people will think that your guilty.
it just doesnt make sense at all, so thats what led me to believe that this is just hype for the fight.

Here's the new contract

So there you have it:

This is not the contract of someone that wants to meet in the ring.

Re: Pacquiao successfully files law suit
What the hell are they planning to gain from this?
People that are suspicious of him are not going to have that doubt removed even if he wins in court.
So his public image isn't repaired
The court preperations and case make it impossible for the fight to still happen.
He is going to miss the opportunity of a lifetime payday
It looks like the max money he can make in court $75,000 per head at five people is what? $375K plus court fees.
What's $40 million - $500k = how much money he lost doing this.
It gives the sport of boxing a black eye
Yes all those casual fans and boxing haters can say "Yeah in boxing they don't even fight in the ring anymore, they fight in court."
-
Re: Pacquiao successfully files law suit
wow this really is disappointing.
fight's dead.

Because Pac is an idiot. When you have blueboy the fatass as you're co-trainer and advisor what do you expect?
Pacquiao probably had too many dumbass advisors giving him bad advice, and just look at Pacquiao he's not that smart himself.
-
Re: Pacquiao successfully files law suit
I'm still waiting for this to be spun against Mayweather, you know it's coming.
-
Re: Pacquiao successfully files law suit
It's pretty well impossible to defend Pacquiao's actions as a fan of the sport foremost... A Law suit, really???? This drug test stipulation went from having the potential to set a GREAT precident for boxing, to a god awful one. How in the hell is Manny expecting to win this case? So what Mayweather went on record accusing Pacquiao of steroids, it's boxing for christs sake, there are so many examples of atrocious deflamation of character throughout the sport it's not even worth mentioning. This is absolutely a lose-lose for Pacquiao, he stands to gain absolutely nothing in this case, even if he were to win it wouldn't validate his being drug free in the slightest, the fact that he is taking legal action in the first place rather than agree to blood testing is the closest thing to confessing his guilt as far as I'm concerned.

I don't think it's possible to spin it. I was one of Mayweathers biggest critics, but there is just no way to get on his case over this carry on. A request for absolute fairness in a fight is not something that can really be called into question, certainly not if you are a person of principles and with the knowledge that there are serious loopholes. Manny's sacrifice of the payday of a lifetime because he won't take a random test, is just incredible. And to try and sue everyone over it? Pac's team have become increasingly difficult to deal with in negotiations over time. But in this instance they have truly lost the plot.
All of Manny's supporters need to take a cold, hard look at the situation and see it for what it is. Manny Pac refuses the fight we all want to see because he isn't willing to provide random checks. No other opponent should really fight him either, unless he is willing to provide the tests for them. If that means Manny has to retire, then so be it. I have no interest in seeing him fight again the way things stand. His reputation has taken a serious hit. Manny might make a pretty good politician judging by his recent behaviour. He is able to smile for the cameras and say its all down to god, but when it comes down to the serious questions he is simply unable to back it up. All it takes is a little bit of blood.
I hope he enjoys his adventure in the courtrooms. After all that's obviously the way to solve everything.
-
Re: Pacquiao successfully files law suit
I thought eventually Manny Pac would agree, but now?
Where the hell are the Pac nuthuggers to defend this bullshit?
