BDO World Darts Championship
Did anybody see Martin Adam game last night ;D The guy he was playing 'Andy Fleet' lost his bottle so much I have never seen anything like it. He nearly fell over 3 times, couldn't hold his darts and kept dropping them, recorded scores of 5, 7, 11 and 17 He actually hit double 1 when going for treble 20 ;D Comedy genius it was
BBC Sport - Darts - Martin Adams eases past Anthony Fleet at Lakeside
-
Re: BDO World Darts Championship
Nearly falls over at 2:29 ;D
-
Re: BDO World Darts Championship
BDO = BOLLOCKS DART ORGINISATION .
The World champion is Phil Taylor , not this pathetic BBC offering.

Agreed mate - BUT outside of Phil Taylor there isn't much of a difference between the standard of the 2 orgainizations
PDC Rankings
1 Taylor
2 Barneveld - Came form BDO
3 Wade
4 Part - Came from BDO
5 King - Came from BDO
PDC World championship Runner up = Simon Whitlock -from BDO
PDC World championship 3rd place = Mark Webster -from BDO
-
Re: BDO World Darts Championship
That wasn't just him bottling it he was completely blotto ;D

Re: BDO World Darts Championship
BDO is a joke now, agreed.
I felt sorry for this guy. I been playing for years and to a decent pub standard (have registered a 13 darter, having missed a dart for 12) yet the first time I played at a tournament and it all went quiet as I stepped on the oche I threw the dart out of the board by double 18 ! Next one not much better ....!
Darts is one of those games where if you had the slightest bit of nerves its obvious.
Took me a while to settle which is why now I always have a couple of beers beforehand ! But you cant have too many or you start missing by miles for a different reason...
he will be better for the experience

Taylor and Wade started with the BDO too.
This year more than any other the difference in standard between the two is massive.
This years last 32 averages
BDO 84.13
PDC 91.38
Probably only Adams, O'Shea, Waites and Hankey could be top 32 players in the PDC. A few of the players at Lakeside (Bunting, Green, one of the Dutch) were PDC players but moved back to the BDO because they couldn't compete on the PDC curcuit.

Mate he was seriously pissed.
When they finished Colin Murray said something like "in the morning someone tell Fleet he lost at the Lakeside last night cause he wont remember where he was"
Adams - "i never knew nerves could do that to you"
Murray - "yeah sometimes nerves make you really drunk"
;D
He's been cracking me up by keep mentioning how much booze they are getting through backstage

Yeh saw that interview it was quality! Adams was being all diplomatic saying he felt sorry for the guy and Bobby George just said, yeh but let's be honest he was rubbish! They totally mugged him off ;D

Re: BDO World Darts Championship
Must say i do love my darts, but after watching the PDC tourny, i just cannot bring myself to watch the shower of shite the BDO put forward. I did actually catch abit of it but quicky turned off it as it justs looks to amaturish.

Re: BDO World Darts Championship
In winning the world title in three different decades Taylor has equalled the achievement of John Lowe. "I have a few left in me," he said after his latest triumph. "I love everything about my job – getting up every morning, practising and dedicating myself. I always try to better myself.
"Even now I know I can improve, whether it's my flights, my stems, my fitness or my diet. There's always that 1 per cent I can improve. I think about the game more now. I think about what I'm doing, how I can improve."
This is Phil Taylor :

I'm telling you he's just asking to be ripped apart by some comedian. They could do him on Little Britain, except the fat one would need to wear a fat suit to do Taylor justice.
-
Re: BDO World Darts Championship
LMAO - I think it's pretty safe to say he could improve his diet by a tad more than 1% ;D

Murray is fantastic. Good comedy. Much better than boring Ton Stubbs.
Fleet was blotto! That was really painful to watch.
O Shea and fat bunting was a pretty good match though.

Woods v Wagner was a superb game
Disappointed with Wagner thoug. He looks smooth as fuck and a bit of a geezer, when he was interviewed he sounded like Vern Troyer

Anybody just see Dave 'Charisma' Chisnall ruin Tony O'Shea - fuck me he was awesome ....the boring koont ;D

Re: BDO World Darts Championship
The standard is poor, Taylor lot would beat all of them.

Taylor beats every one period.
The top players on the BDO are just as good as the PDO top players minus Taylor as Scott Waites proved a few weeks ago in the gramd slam of darts.
Adams
O Shea
Waites
Hankey
Chisnell
Would all hold there own and get to the later satges of the PDO events. Just that the depth is much worst in the BDO than the PDO, but like said earlier in the thread the PDO poach 90% of the BDO players. Like Whitlock,King,Mardle,Barney,Painter etc etc.

Spot on mate. Can't remember the exact stats but head to heads between BDO and PDC players in the Grand Slam of darts was well in favour of the BDO players. I think they won 60 or 70% of the head to heads

Surely that can't be right?
2007 - only Gary Anderson qualified from the group stages, losing in the semi to Taylor.
2008 - Whitlock, Webster, Anderson and Fitton (Fitton let Anderson win so they'd both qualify) qualified from the groups.. Anderson lost in the semi to Jenkins, the others were knocked out by PDC players.
2009 - Waites and O'Shea qualified from the group stages, both eventually losing to Taylor.
-
Re: BDO World Darts Championship
Apparently there were 17 BDO V PDC games in The Grand Slam.
BDO 10 vs 7 PDC
So about 59% ;)
-
Re: BDO World Darts Championship
Is that over the three years? Where did you see the stats?

Re: BDO World Darts Championship

Re: BDO World Darts Championship
Nice one. Nearly all the BDO winners must now be PDC players ;D
That thread had some interesting averages.
BDO last 8 average
89.77
PDC last 8 average
99.00
BDO last 4 average
93.98
PDC last 4 average
97.12
This year the divide in class between the two really stood out. As I said earlier, the BDO are down to about 4 players that could potentially be top 32 in the PDC.

I think Chisnall is the most likely player to succeed Taylor at the moment. He just needs to sort out those nerves, which he will in time (This was his first time being in anything like that kind of sitaution)

Blimey, that's a big shout mate. Chisnall is clearly a top player but I didn't think looked anything special.
He never got his average out of the 90s for any match. Younger guys like Wade and Lewis are consistent 100+ average merchants. And in Wade's case a proven big time winner.
Also, a good run at Lakeside doesn't guarantee success. Jelle Klassen has never made the semi of a PDC TV comp and spent the last couple of years ranked between 30 and 40. Webster had had a shocking year on the PDC curcuit before the worlds.
Maybe you are right, but at the moment i'd be surprised if he was a top 10 player within the next 5 years. :-\

Yeh, here what you are saying mate and you are probably right but I just have a hunch about Chisnall! He had a 97 average against O'shea BTW, fuck knows what is average was for the last 4 sets
Wade and Lewis both are guilty of not always taking matches seriously
enough, but are still both quality. By now I would've expected Lewis to have been very close to Wade and Barneveld, but he's lost ground because he got ahead of himself. Looks like he has got his head right now
though.
Nice to see another dart fan on here. I used to be fanatical about darts, but haven't seen a lot of the PDC tournaments over the past couple of years because I haven't got Sky Sports.
-
Re: BDO World Darts Championship
I love darts mate, it's my favourite sport to bet on.
I think it'll be Wade that takes over from Taylor. Even when he's playing poor he's tough to beat because he's excellent under pressure. And already has won four TV majors.
Lewis is an awesome scorer but an out-and-out bully. The minute someone matches him he folds. His finishing always goes to pot.
Whitlock was outstanding throughout the world champs. He's now moved to England to concentrate fully on the darts, so be interesting to see if he can keep that form going.
Shame you ain't got Sky.. you got the The Players Championship on ITV4 at the end of the month though ;)

Yeh Whitlock was very good, huge improvement from him. Now he is over here and had his nice cheque from being runner up, he can focus 100% and play more tournaments, so he could be huge. Premier league is going to very interesting, best line up ever this year
I have got Sky, just not Sky sports coz I just never get a chance to watch anything (CBeebies dominates TV in our house)

Re: BDO World Darts Championship
I have not sky because I cannot afford it. Hoping Diane will help me with a link for the shane/berto fight.;)

Re: BDO World Darts Championship
I love darts too and i am gutted i can;t watch the PDC events as i dont have sky. I love the BDO since its a bit more competitive than the PDC and would love to go to the lakeside one day to watch it.
I hated Tony Greens commentating in the final he was so biased and wanted chizzy to win. Fair play it would have been a great story but Adams deserved it his finishing was killer at times. When he's on form that first dart alwasy flies into the T20. He has the customary wolfie blip about 5 sets into a match then manages to get through it.
IN the semi chizzy v O'Shea though. I think only Taylor would have been able to live with chizzy after the break. His scoring and finishing was awesome and i bet he had a crazy 100+ average for those final 4 sets. Great stuff.
He is one boring sod in front of camera though..can't talk.
I think getting Murray on board to present has been fantastic. Well done beeb.
