Mayweather's Next Opponent - Poll
Who would you prefer to see Mayweather in with in his next fight? Clearly Pacquiao and Mosley/Berto are the preferred choices, but it looks like those fights don't make sense to Mayweather now for some reason or the other, out of the options being presently looked at by Team Mayweather:
Paulie Malignaggi
Matthew Hatton
Nate Campbell
Tim Bradley
Kermit Cintron
Paul Williams (not sure he is being looked at actually)
None of these fighters are Top Rank fighters.
Re: Mayweather's Next Opponent - Poll
Williams is the only one on the list that actually offers a challenge... PBF will receive zero credit for fighting anyone on that list... Just stating the obvious...
Re: Mayweather's Next Opponent - Poll
Me thinks it might be Mallignaggi
Re: Mayweather's Next Opponent - Poll
I voted Cintron he's a decent welterweight and a big puncher.I carnt see Paul Williams fight happening on the 13march.I wouldnt be unhappy if he fought Bradley as he's the man at 140 and has the speed to trouble Floyd

Do u care to explain the sentence i have put in bold? Pac pulled out of the negotiations for the PBF fight, and its clearly his fault that fight aint happening. Mosely and Berto are fighting soon and so neither will be available soon. So its not 'some reason or another'.

My explanation is that Floyd doesn't like to take risky fights at least as of recent. He isn't fighting Pacquiao because Pacquiao wouldn't submit to his demands, the only logical opponent is Mosley and maybe Paul Williams.
Shane and Berto fight on January 30th. Today it is January 12th and Mayweather hasn't chosen an opponent. The fight date proposed for the Mayweather fight is in April. I assure you for Floyd Mayweather-fight money, both Berto and Mosley will be ready to fight in April. Moreover, both are bigger money fights, better fights, and more meaningful to boxing. And if Floyd needs to push back his fight for a month to give them time, why not? It is a much better match than any on the list.

It aint good business to pick an opponent for the future before they've had their fight. Ask Hopkins.

Semantics. I'm saying Mosley or Berto is a better opponent than any on the list other than Paul Williams.

I'd say Bradley or Cintron would be good opponents if no one else is available, and he wants to fight earlier. I cant see Williams getting down to 147 again.
Re: Mayweather's Next Opponent - Poll
It wouldn't matter if Paul Williams was the biggest draw in boxing history. Mayweather would never step into the ring with him. He'd run faster from Williams than he did from Margarito. I think Williams beats him anyway. I'd like to see him fight the winner of Mosely/Berto. I'd have more interest in that fight than I would Pacman/Clottey
Re: Mayweather's Next Opponent - Poll
The Willaims fight wont happen in a million years and the rest are basically gimmes. Maybe Bradley would be half interesting.. as a buying time fight.
Pac or Mosley/Berto winner or Pac or Pac or Pac or Pac are the only serious competitive fights for Floyd.

but Mayweather/Cintron or Mayweather/Bradley are no worse than Pacquiao/Clottey
Re: Mayweather's Next Opponent - Poll
I wouldn't have a problem with Mayweather - Bradley. I think thats a pretty decent stop gap fight.
Also, out of interest, i checked the odds for Pac - Clottey. It was 1/2 Pac and 6/4 Clottey. Thats pretty close odds really.

honestly i hope that Clottey puts on the performance of his life and brutally stops Pacquiao, not only does he deserve it (Clottey the big win) but well Pacquiao does as well (to be brutally stopped) ;D
Re: Mayweather's Next Opponent - Poll
I'd love to see Campbell get the payday, but from a boxing fan's perspective it has to be Williams IMO.

He isn't fighting Pacquiao or Pacquiao isn't fighting him? Geeze. So many of the general public are still completely clueless when it comes to the reality of drug testing.
Also, I'm not sure PW will be able to make 147 anymore, Floyd might have to fight him at 154 which would be far more dangerous.
Of those opponents; I think Malignaggi could be an interesting boxing match between two quick fighters (or could just be really boring), Cintron would be dangerous because he's a big, hard hitting jr middleweight, Bradley is an excellent boxer and good all-around fighter that could give him problems, but at this point in Bradley's career, I'm not sure I'd like to see that fight. Campbell and Hatton are just jokes and are probably the only two that I would not want to see on that list. I agree with the general consensus, in that the best would be a fight with Mosley/Berto, although I'm not sure they'll be ready come March 13.
Re: Mayweather's Next Opponent - Poll
I'd like to see PBF v Bradley at 140 but i dont think Floyd would wanna go down to 140, and 147 would be too big for Tim.
Out of way left field, Floyd should challenge Seb Sylvester for his MW belt. Sylvester is only 5 foot 8......

I'm not sure if you're an existing member of these forums who doesn't have the balls to post on your normal account (brucelee maybe?), but every one of the 3 posts you've made thus far has just been a mindless shot at the terrible conclusive tests that Mayweather requested for their (now canceled) fight.
I recommend that you educate yourself on reliable drug-testing methods, hop off Pacquiao's di*k and come back. Either that or make a new account and continue your little quest to reaffirm that all Pacquiao fans are mentally retarded (hence the name Pactards). I actually feel bad for all of the reasonable Pac fans, as people like you bring them all down.

Assuming Pwill can't make 147 any more, recall that Floyd fought ODLH at 154 and that was two years ago. He could fight at 154 now surely.
Malignaggi doesn't belong in the ring with Floyd. Let's be real; dude lost a close fight against Juan Diaz.
Re: Mayweather's Next Opponent - Poll
I don't think Williams can get down to 147 so my choice would be Bradley!
Re: Mayweather's Next Opponent - Poll
I voted Bradley, but if I was a promoter of Floyd I would have thrown in Paul Spadafora. He is undefeated a former champion, an ex con and he handled himself well when he sparred with Floyd some years back.
