Re: amir khan told ricky hatton to "retire and chill out"
amir told ricky to retire so that jmm is all his
-
Re: amir khan told ricky hatton to "retire and chill out"
Hatton should retire he got badly beaten up and outboxed for 10 rounds against Mayweather before the classic head into turnbuckle stoppage then he looked shot against Lazcano. Looked half decent against Paulie but did he make him look better then the 2 round KO to Pacquiao which was devastating its a tough situation for Ricky because he could have 1 good win left in him and he can retire on a win but he could also get knocked out in devastating fashion again and retire with 2 ko losses back to back. And as for Amir Khan now e is with Golden Boy he will be stepping his class of opponent up could be Maidana or Marquez next both can whack so it won't be long before people are wanting him to retire;);D

Re: amir khan told ricky hatton to "retire and chill out"
It's a little funny Amir was talking up about a fight with Hatton after Rick got smashed by Manny and retirement was, in my peoples eyes a done deal. Now Hatton has stated his intention to return, Amir now thinks he should 'Retire and Chill Out". Hmmmmmmnnnn.
Be careful what you wish for, it just may come true.
And TysonBruno, Hatton looked half-decent against Paulie ? It looked like a clinic to me, finished with a stoppage. If that's half-decent, then I'm a monkeys uncle.

Exactly, it was a very good performance. Nobody else has made Paulie look quite so bad. You can tell today that Malignaggi is still smarting over it with the way he talks down about Hatton.
As for Amir Khan...well I couldn't give a flying fuck about his opinion. Mr. 2% body fat and all other kinds of bizarre random bullshit. The twit.

He's a classic hater, no matter what Ricky does or has done it's never good enough for some

Re: amir khan told ricky hatton to "retire and chill out"
I've just read the Freddie Roach has been quoted as saying that " Maidana is not well known enough in the UK to make the fight."
It looks like we are back to Khan vacating, and looking to beat Hatton to JMM. Khan stated he wanted the big names for his American debut, and Maidana wasnt one of them. He lists JMM, Juan Diaz and Paulie as possible suiters. Hmmmmmmnnnnn.

Well he looks rock-hard and extremely menacing in his photo avatar, so maybe that photo alone would be enough to drop Paulie in 1 round. ;D

Re: amir khan told ricky hatton to "retire and chill out"
As ive said a million times over...
45-2 with his only losses at the hands of the best fighters of our generation
31 years old
still able to fill out any arena in the united kingdom
Its only us brits talking about whether hatton should retire or not. If ricky was american none of the US guys on here would be discussing whether he should retire or not because they wouldnt give enough of a f*ck about one single fighter.
90% of people on here that want hatton to bow out so early in his career use the excuse...
"we dont want to see him get badly hurt"
This is boxing for fuck sake. Whether your starting your career or finishing it the whole time your getting hurt whether its by a fellow fighter, a sparring buddy or an insanely difficult training session.
Ricky hatton has a permenantly broken nose from it getting broke so many times via people smashing him in the face. Id say on that basis the prospect of getting in the ring with juan manuel marquez really isnt as scary to him as it would be you and i

Rick would fight anyone, I know his mentality, he really doesnt give a fuck about anyone, as far as he is concerned, he'll have a go, and I love that about him. What I will say though, is since the Manny KO he is a little different, certainly more relaxed about everything in life. My only worry is that I feel he is past his best and I dont want his denial that he is still as good as he was in his prime clouding his judgement. But Rick is and always will be his own man. Nobody can tell him anything, hence the reason he has decided to fight on, even though it's against his family and friends wishes. But in true Ricky Hatton fashion, he has the spirit of a Mexican figher, and will go out on his sword if it comes to it. I just wish the likes of Floyd had the same mentality.

Too true, though ricky will go out with more of the gatti`s about him rather than the intended all time great status he is a true showman and id very much imagine the sort of bloke who`d take on 2-3 fellas at a time if need be.
Nobody bought the training camp excuses he brought out after the pac fight. It was simply a case of a deer caught in the headlights. I do completely disregard all the "he`s past it" stuff.
Malignaggi was one of his career greatest performances. It just happened to get sandwiched inbetween 2 losses to all time great fighters. Ricky would of decked in 2rounds by pacquiao in 2006.
I`ll admit his past it when i actually see a desperate performance from a man who can no longer hold his own rather than going on 6minutes of footage against a guy in a different world to most fighters out there!

Look lets leave my pic out of this and lets not get personal yes Hatton looked good against Paulie i was impressed but Hatton didn't stop Paulie did he really?? Buddy Mcgirt did and the reason i say was it Paulie who made him look good because he fought so badly against Lazcano and then basically reverted back to this vs Pacquiao. Now iv'e never been a Hatton fan until the Paulie fight i thought he fought well i even fancied him to beat Pacquiao and wanted him to but the reason im against him coming back is he is fatter than ever i think losing weight caught up with him he basically had no punch resistance vs Pacquiao and i don't really want to see him knocked out like that again it was horrible to watch and i did fear for his health he was out for a few minutes. I understand his pride wanting him to comeback but like i say what if he has 2 devastating KO's back to back and when he is talking of wanting to fight either a top 10 P4P fighter a top 10 light welter or a world champ fighter like Marquez and Urango could easily take him out again. so im not hating just not sure i want to see a fighter out for minutes again with his eyes rolling and his mouth sloping to one side struggling to get a breath DO YOU??

Now now, no need to get touchy
Lets be honest here TysonBruno, the majority of your posts regards Hatton ARE derogatory. Yourself and VD take great pleasure in putting Ricky down and getting the boot in. Now for you to say ya dont want him to fight again incase he gets KO'ed, well thats plain silly. So any boxer you like, ya must be in bits when they step in the ring just incase they actually get hit, let alone KO'ed
As for your Marquez / Urango comment - You state they could take him out again !?!? When did either of them take Ricky out the first time please?
Urango got owned by a flu-riden Ricky the 1st time, as for Marquez, well no need to go there hey

I mean take him out again as in him getting knocked out again another knockout loss not as in these guys have done him before and at the back end of the fight vs Urango Ricky struggled and im not always hating on him at all.

Ahh right sorry bro, misunderstood ya post slightly then :)
Yea Rick did struggle - not just at the end either - for the sake of repeating oneself the flu was the cause more than Urango, although he did give Rick a bloody good body shot during the fight.
Look im not going to get into t handbag match with you over your love / hate for Ricky, but lets just say whenever a Ricky thread appears, if you do leave a comment invariably it's derogatory to Rick, which to be fair is your opinion ;)
-
Re: amir khan told ricky hatton to "retire and chill out"
Look my main point is in all this love him or hate him i thought in the Pacquiao fight he had nothing left he was going over so easy yes he was a little over anxious but the last knockdown was devastating i just wouldn't want to see that again. I felt so sorry for him and concerned i thought something terrible could have happened the way his eyes rolled around his mouth sloping on one side him twitching and gasping for air just wouldn't want to see that again so i would have preferred him to walk away but many fighters don't . I have made harsh comments about Hattons career in the past but the facts are he has only got 2 losses in 47 fights and they have come against 2 Number 1 P4P fighters so why risk losing to a lesser fighter so im not slagging him off just stating a few facts had he not fought Paulie and fought Mayweather,Lazcano then Pacquiao would you say he was done now?? and do you want to see him knocked out like that again?? because i don't i don't want to see any fighter in that state love or hate them.

Re: amir khan told ricky hatton to "retire and chill out"
If Hatton comes back and looks good and gets the win against a decent opponent i wanna see him take a few shots to see if he has any punch resistance left! If he has i can see him taking on Khan and i would give him a good chance of beating him.Khan is very fast on his feet and with his hands but fighters can get close to him and hit him he isnt hard to hit.Khan isnt a southpaw with will help Hatton alot cause he is crap against them.
In the build up to the Pac fight he says he over trained but he also says he was getting beat up by sparing partners which is very worry and a big sign that he is past his best imo.He strugles with southpaws but by the end of his training he should of been used to them.
-
Re: amir khan told ricky hatton to "retire and chill out"
My worry is that he does well in his next fight and gets a good win because then he will want another fight then if he loses again were back to square one and nobody wants to see Khan beat him.
-
Re: amir khan told ricky hatton to "retire and chill out"
Khan is just scared him fighting Ricky might actually happen, what a bitch!

Over-trained is an understatement. He was clinically diagnosed with exhaustion 3 weeks before the fight. A 15 mile run in the morning in the hills, 12 rounds of sparring in the afternoon, and 10 miles on the treadmill at night. Also, Lee, Matthew and Ray told me that Floyd Snr looked like he was trying to break Rick.
I remember an incident with the medicine ball where Floyd Snr was throwing it very hard into the pit of Rick's stomach. Apparently Rick was in agony, and Lee pulled Rick out of that exercise, and a few sparring sessions when he was getting battered. This pissed off Floyd Snr and their friendship was severely strained through it. Rick told me that before the fight, he knew he only had 4 rounds in him so he tried to jump on Manny. The rest is history. Like I said before, GBP tried to pull the fight with 3 weeks to go, thats fact.

I'm sure Mayweather snr is on video blaming extra training happening when he wasn't around as one of the reasons for the poor showing?

Maybe to you, to the rest of us it's just conjecture & all part of the tried & tested Ricky Hatton 'blame it on the flu/ref/former trainer' patent.

I give you some inside information and you throw it back in my face. It is a fact, and you dont know either way, so until you do, button it. :-X
In my opinion Rick would have been beaten in his prime by that Manny. It just would have been a more competative fight.

Little bit tetchy aren't we. I never said I know better, but you don't get to become the oracle of all opinions on Hatton just because you know him.
You may say something as a fact, but if someone who knew Floyd Mayweather came in here & said it was a fact that someone in Manny's team sent those emails asking about if he failed a drugs test, would you automatically believe him or her?
I may agree with your last point about it being a more competitive fight, but it doesn't change the fact that what you say remains can just come off as Team Hatton spin to some of us.
If you've seen it with your own eyes, then fair enough, why would you give a fuck what people on some internet site say about it

I've just listened to your type before Jez, and my patience is thin after 10 years of it. It was the same crap after the Witter missing gates post, it was meant to be a bit of fun, that not many people knew about, but I found your 'hating' post after it pathetic, hence the reason I didnt reply.
It someone came on here, whom I respected and valued their opinion, and they told me something about another fighter then I would believe it. If you choose not to, without any evidence to the contrary, then so be it. There are Hatton fans on here that will be appreciative of any inside information they can get. And I'm only to happy give it, good or bad.

Nice to see you can bother to get my name right Jimmy. So I don't think everything Ricky Hatton does lovable & hilarious. Contrary to what you might think I quite like him as a fighter, I think he's far better than he gets credit for, but I don't have to approve of everything he does.
The fact is I don't know you from Adam. Tbh, I might believe what you say but it more comes down to the fact there's always been excuses from Team Hatton after a poor performance or defeat & that is what leaves me inclined to not just take what you say 100% on faith.
I have no problem with you giving out the info, I appreciate it, but I won't necessarily buy it all as fact without knowing for certain myself. But, this is a forum & if you post something you will likely have to deal with replies that you don't like.

Ummm, perhaps Hatton's camp were indeed trying to get him killed(and regardless of whether that was the case), your WAY off here bud. A 15 mile run in the morning, 12 rounds of sparring, than another 10 miles at night? Are you just pulling that out of your arse, and do you have ANY idea how ridiculous it would be? No fighter runs 15 miles in one stint at any point in their training, let alone someone who is five foot six with Hatton's build. I wouldn't doubt he over trained, but what you just said amounts to complete lunacy, it wouldn't even be plausible for any fighter in their right mind to do that on any given day.

Fair play, I have just Repped you for that post. I'll hold my hand up and say my comment in hindsight was wrong.
With regards the trainer, not many people know that Floyd Snr was actually relieved of his training duties 2 weeks prior to the Manny fight.

Just dont read anything placed on the forum in future, cos it may not be true and that will leave you all upset and angry, unless you can personally verify the info yourself in person, and only if it's from the horses mouth. Dont know why ya bother coming on these forums bud. ;)

This obviously wasnt everyday but it's true. Lee Beard pulled Rick out of sparring after 6 rounds and 7 rounds respectively after he was getting owned. I'm sure it was Tim Coleman. What Ricky went through in that camp bordered lunacy. Like I said in another post, it was Shane's doctor that diagnosed him with exhaustion 3 weeks prior. Ricky was then given 5 days rest. He came back and looked much better in sparring, but by that time I guess the damage was already done.
And where are you getting no fighter jogs 15 mile in a training session ?? Rick ran more than that in his roadwork for the Tszyu fight, and that was shown on t.v.
Edit - Just checked, it was 10-12 miles in the morning, my error.

Next time you're talking to Ricky ask him why, if he's so unconcerned about money -- he doesn't even know how much he's worth! -- he doesn't just pay Billy Graham the money he owes him for the Mayweather fight.
I mean if there's one thing we know about the Hattons it's that yhey're salt-of-the-earth people, unlike all the other scumbags in boxing like Frank Warren. I mean because of what Ricky's said publicly I imagine that if I shook hands on something with him then his word would be his bond, I'd be absolutely guaranteed that because Ricky is such a paragon of morality and honesty. And that would be me as just somebody doing business with Ricky, not somebody like Billy who was his friend and trainer for over a decade.
I'm sure that the last thing that would happen if I had a handshake deal with the Ricky is that he'd take me to court to try and weasel out of it. That's the kind of thing you'd expect from Frank Warren, not the great man himself. Now it can't be down to money because we both know that Ricky couldn't care less about money and would happily pay any amount he morally owed and not end up in court looking like a scumbag trying to dodge paying somebody money. Because the Hattons aren't like that. So why is Ricky doing it to Billy? Can you ask him please?
