Green wants to fight Mundine again.
I really cant see this fight happening.
Green is fighting at cruiser while mundine is some where in middle weight.
What weight does everyone think they should fight at?
I dont think mudine will take the fight any higher than Super middle.
If the fight does happen at SM what do you see the out come being?

Green being drained and getting stomped on again

Green was super middleweight for yrs and for some reason only complained about weight drain once...after he lost to mundine.

i'm not even saying it cause of his last fight with Mundine, i'm saying it cause he's no spring chicken and is fighting at Cruiserweight, it's not gonna be any easy task to go down to 168 at this point of his career
Re: Green wants to fight Mundine again.
I honestly dont think green could make the weight then stand up on fight night.
His last fight against mundine he looked terrible, He just looked so unhealthy.
I honestly dont really want to see the fight happen unless it was at LH but no way will mundine go up to that weight.
If it was to happen at SM then it would just be a kick in the guts for the people that pay to watch it, wont even be competitive..
Re: Green wants to fight Mundine again.
Green is the moneyman now and he'll be able to dictate a bit. He was only 175ish for the Jones fight, wasn't he? So he'll fight Mundine at that weight or thereabouts. Trying to make fights with Hopkins etc. didn't work out so Green-Mundine is the biggest money fight for both of them, it's going to happen eventually and it might as well happen for Green when he's got the most leverage.

It was funny everyone was saying Green was in the best shape they had seen him when he fought Mundine then he lost and he all of a sudden looked weight drained...after Green said he was.
Green got beat fair and square, he needs to really stop talking about the weight issues. He never mentioned them before the mundine fight and when he lost it was straight in to it.
Re: Green wants to fight Mundine again.
Does Green really want to get schooled again? Stopping an old china-chinned Jones is one thing but fighting possibly weight drained against Mundine who embarrassed you the 1st time is another!
Re: Green wants to fight Mundine again.
So it is obvious Green cannot get a good fight after stopping Jones, why is that ? The Mundine fight won't happen, not his year anyway.
Re: Green wants to fight Mundine again.
Mundine wins out boxes him again. Thought that it the first time much to my fellow Aussies disgust down the club. I dont like either of them but I like Mundines natural ability better than Greens learnt one.

I never said he was weight drained. I said i dont think he could make the weight for SM he is getting on in age.
When i saw the 1st fight i said straight away that he didnt look healthy he looked lean but not healthy his skin was all clammy.
I wont make excuses he was fighting at his chosen weight so why should he be weight drained all of a sudden.
ilovebrucelee i think you took my statement the wrong way. I agree with you mostly

Not havin a go at you mate just saying that Danny Green makes this good guy no excuses persona but then jumps up and down every time he loses. I think i even read somewhere he thought the 2nd Beyer fight was close...i thought he lost clearly.
Re: Green wants to fight Mundine again.
Mundine hads him his ass every time, Danny got a shot in against Jones and won fair but Jones IMO didn't take him serious so it doesn't really reflect where Danny is at , just Like Jones v Lacy
Re: Green wants to fight Mundine again.
I agree mostly with "I love Bruce Lee" guy (sorry if I got ya name wrong dude), and it is so refreshing to hear an Aussie Boxing fan who called it how it is.. DG never once complained bout weight till after his loss to Choc. He campaigned at SMW for years and even got 2 title shots at that weight!
People bag out Mundine coz of his outspokeness and its tru, the guy (I stress on camera) talks out of his ass... But don't for one second think that Danny Green is any different... This guy plays the tru blu Aussie good guy role and plays it up big against guys like Choc... But by no means is Danny Green the most humble guy out there either... He goes out after his win against Roy and calls Mundine a nobody to him, to quote, he calls Mundine a pissant and flathead fish, while Danny claims to be chasing sharks.
Now he is calling Choc back out! And to clarify this thread everyone is discussing the last time they fought and the result, and DG complaining about weight drain, this fight is spose to be for DG's IBO Cruiserweight title...
SO HE WON'T HAVE ANY WEIGHT DRAIN EXCUSES WHEN CHOC SKOOLS HIM AGAIN!!!

At cruiser i didnt know that. I really dont think the fight will happen at cruiser it a bit of weight for choc to pack on.
Re: Green wants to fight Mundine again.
Yeh it was in the Daily Telegraph (Sydney) on either Wed or Thur's edition. Plus the same article was posted on the net on a couple of sites aswell.
Basically the stip for the fight is a 45-45 split with the remaining 10% going to an Indigenous children's charity, IBO Cruiserweight title on the line, and Danny Green even willing to fight in Sydney against his first proposed rematch that would've taken place in Perth.
See this is what I mean about Green, he talks it up and acts like Choc ain't s**t to him but he's just as bitter bout his loss to Choc as B-Hop is wid Roy!
And look tbh honest guys call me an over thinker here but to throw in that 10% clause going to Aboriginal kids, please, yes it will be hard for Choc to turn that offer down but I think its fair to say, DG is somewhat exploiting these children and extorting Mundine all to avenge that loss he sufferred to Mundine on that sweet September evening!!!

Oh yeh and bout the weight thang, Choc did go out in public and run his stupid mouth bout how he'd be willing to beat Danny Green up at Heavyweight if the money was right so now Danny has actually taken Choc's call and said if he is/was willing to fight him at heavyweight, then Choc shouldn't have a problem meeting him at cruiserweight either...

Agree mate, it's like thumbing their nose at Choc and saying 'well so much for your community work'I like Mundine when he is active against a live one ( not often) but he does do some good for the community a lot of it off the record. Green got lucky and is finding out that no one wants him not because he is a real tough challenge but because he is not a draw , just a guy who got fairly lucky and now needs Mundine.

that's how it should be done, IMO when people have to gloat about their "goodwill" it's just another form of promotion

Agree, agree, agree! Good job bringing that up as well! Danny Green needs to realise this is what Choc does when he ain't fighting bums hahah, and doesn't need a rematch with him for Choc to fulfill his charity obligations to his people!!!
Re: Green wants to fight Mundine again.
See this is the kind of shit im talking about, Green tries to make himself look like the nicest guy ever and the true blue aussie. But if he was then he wouldnt be using a charity as a way to bait choc into a fight, to me thats pretty low.
Re: Green wants to fight Mundine again.
Looks like the hype for this fight is well underway, full page in todays paper about it.
Was a half ok article not the usually mundine bash.
It also mentioned that they should fight get there last pay day and both retire after.
