Primetime To Show Holyfield V Botha
Just watched Dirrel v Abraham and noticed that before the fight they were advertising Holyfield v Botha on April 10th for £5.95 for the WBF Heavyweight title . Therefore i don't understand why they would want to show this fight ahead of the Hopkins v Jones Jr fight on April 3rd at least that has a bit more appeal than this fight they have chosen to show!
Re: Primetime To Show Holyfield V Botha
Who ever pays for this is a moron and should be shot on site
Job Biscuit (im tellin yer)!!!!
eh eh!!!
Re: Primetime To Show Holyfield V Botha
I am sure someone will. I read on some other forums that when they rang up for dirrel fight they were offered Dirrel v Abraham, Holyfield v Botha and Froch v Kessler for £25 and some of them accepted it as a good deal!!!!
Re: Primetime To Show Holyfield V Botha
No matter how good the bread is, that's still a dookey sammich.

Its a cheap fight to watch a couple of hasbeens try to go through the motions. Actually might prove interesting for that rate.
Re: Primetime To Show Holyfield V Botha
Interesting fight you think i am expecting it to be a cuddle fest for 12 rounds!!!!
Re: Primetime To Show Holyfield V Botha
I would not pay to watch it no matter what (or almost). Holyfield is now a pale copy of the pale copy he was 3 years ago, we should not support him getting injured just because he doesn't know how to manage his finances.

That's a saving of £2, or to look at it a different way £4 for the Holyfield fight. (I wouldn't pay 50p)
I bought Abrahams, and I'll buy Froch for a combined, seperate, cost of £21.
Re: Primetime To Show Holyfield V Botha
I'm afraid to say I am going to buy this. I know I shouldn't and I think Evander should have retired as the 3rd greatest HW of all time after the Lennox fights but he is my favourite all time HW and I can't help but still have interest.
Re: Primetime To Show Holyfield V Botha
Weve known Holyfields been in decline for over a decade infact they were saying he was past it almost 20 years ago after the 1st Bowe fight but he is one of the most well known names in the sport. Botha isnt a runner so he will come to give an honest performance. He's been in with the other big 3 Bowe, Tyson and Lewis just like Holyfield has except Botha got stopped by all them. Evander won and lost to them.
Its his first PPV in this country since 1999. Berto is fighting Quintana the same night so its worth a fiver to keep switching channels. It'll be good to see Evander beat someone up. Looking forward to it.
Re: Primetime To Show Holyfield V Botha
Has anyone looked at the undercard? It has the be the worst looking set of fights I've seen. No way I watch this.
Re: Primetime To Show Holyfield V Botha
I'll be getting this fight if I don't have plans on Saturday.
Re: Primetime To Show Holyfield V Botha
Anyone ever see Botha in K-1 kickboxing ?
Jesus Christ he got his ass knocked out by Mighty Mo in 1 round...
Evander is gonna have another field day just like with Lou Savarese.
Tho Savarese has more heart than Botha.

I enjoyed the Holyfield Saverese fight. The smaller man was able to get inside and the right to the body left hook to the head KD was one of the best Ive seen. I much prefer that kind of fight than watching a Klitschko jab someone with no ambition for 10 rounds. It was also better than Haye running from Valuev for 12 rounds. Holyfield guarantees to put it on the line and show what he is made of. Botha might be there to be hit so if Evander backs him up, I'll be looking for him to let both hands go like he did against Bates. Botha will try to keep it long and tie Evander up on the inside. Evander by late stoppage.

Hey I enjoyed watchin the Savarese fight myself.
Its good to see Holyfield beating up on someone around his own age and from his own era.
And I cannot stand the Klitschkos.
But just don't put Holyfield in with one.
That would be terrible.
And keep him away from David Haye as well.
Re: Primetime To Show Holyfield V Botha
Holyfield vs Botha is a real fight ??!!!!! I thought they were talking about some reality show. Is there even anyone in either of these guy's family that gives a rat's ass if one of these morons can beat the other ?
Re: Primetime To Show Holyfield V Botha

Re: Primetime To Show Holyfield V Botha
I have to say that was worth a fiver.
Best heavyweight fight Ive seen for a while. Haye backing off vs Ruiz wasnt my cuppa tea and neither is watching a Klitschko jab someone to sleep. It wasnt as dramatic as Audley the night beofre but it was still a sweet KO.
Botha started out like he may cause some problems as he was able to land right hands to head and body then tie Evander up before he could get his shots off. The cleaner better work was coming from the real deal finding success with the right cross and noticably the left hook. Botha was visibly tiring in the 7th he was no longer throwing with Holyfield, his shots didnt have the same snap and he was gassing. Evander was still bouncing and lifted his own workrate. In the 8th Holyfield had Botha backed up against the ropes, dipped to his right and landed a peach of a right hand. Botha went down like a tonne of bricks. Abit like the Savarese KD. Botha got up on wobbly legs but after afew more unanswerd shots the ref stepped in. New WBF champ but I think he wants to go onto bigger and better things.
He doesnt have the reflexes to handle Hayes speed but I do give him a punchers chance. He wont be the first veteran to stop Haye if he won. Given his age I was impressed with his conditioning in this fight. 47 but on his toes all night and mixed his shots up well. He showed moves and combinations that most heavyweights couldnt dream of throwing. Fair play to Evander. Maybe his shoulder excuse vs Donald all those years back did have something in it because he looked the best he has in a while last night

Good for Holyfield.
I figured it would be like the Savarese fight.
Holyfield woulda whipped both giuys in the 90's and he still whips em today.
But you gotta consider the opponent when assessing Holyfields performance.
Personally I'd like to see Holyfield fight that fat cuban Oldanir Solis.
I think Holyfield can take him.

Solis is ranked quite high by the wbc too isn't he? Well I think he is, that would be good for holyfield, well bad sort of case if he fights vitali it will end badly for him, but it's what he wants so i think solis would be a great opponent for him....
hats off to holyfield he seems to be in great physical condition for an old guy.
Re: Primetime To Show Holyfield V Botha
If you wouldn't pay L 5.95 ( what is that 6 bucks??) to watch Evander fight your not a real boxing fan IMO.
I flew from Canada to LV to see him against Botha. two guys with great records for the WBF title. A great fight and a great time..
What were you doing that night???? pulling your pud??
