Ah poor Joe, I think his apology sucked though.
This is what my statement would have been.
'Dear fans. As you know I too have now become a victim to that fucking shameless sand n***** who has nothing better to do than bring others down, in order to elevate his own slime ball career. I spent many hours with this roach of a man and his insect like acomplices where alcohol flowed freely and yet the only negative comments they could provoke out of me in all this time was that Amir Khan is chinny and that Hatton's punch resistance has gone, two statements shared by every boxing fan in the country.
I would like to take this opportunity to describe my feelings towards the News Of The World, a positively atrocious waste of paper and a piece of shit junk tabloid that nobody takes seriously anyhow. Fuck them and all who write for them.
I am Joe Calzahge, I am a legend and I'm undefeated, this fake sheik is a dirty arab and a total asshole who left disgusting bum hairs wherever he sat his filthy behind and who attracted flies, like, well a skanky arab attract flies.

Joe does not need to apologies to no one, he did not hurt no one and its not even as if he missbehaved publicly. Every one has the right to a private life and Joe's statements were made in a relaxed enviroment, in his private time, to a man, who in my opinion is the real scum bag of this whole situation. It should be illegal to do the shit that reporter did. We all have our guilty pleasures, and the right to do with our selves as we please. Joe Calzaghe is no exception, and I for one, stand behind the unbeaten former champ.

Like Boxer Dude stated not as if Joe had made a public fool of himself over and over or at all really that I know of...TBH I have not followed the story too closely...
Joe has always been a gentleman in and out of the ring....a lot worse things he could have done.....He is not the first to fall into this garbage and will not be the last sadly....

He's a fighter not a politician, and there is no reason to present some squeeky clean image to the masses if he doesn't feel so inclined. He's been mixing in showbiz circles since he retired doing two bob dancing shows for the BBC etc etc - i used to work for the BBC at Television Centre in White City (W London) and the lifestyle of most of the media workers down there was work hard play harder.
Cocaine is RIFE in these sort of circles fella and at the end of the day he's a human being who craves the buzz the ring gave him - theres hundreds of past fighters who have turned to drink, drugs etc to replicate that "High" the fight game and the glory gave them.

Actually I just looked at the Kinsey report statistics that 1 in 4 adult Americans between 25-34 have tried cocaine at least once.
To put that into perspective I think the gay community is less than 10 percent of the population.
So more men have taken coke than have taken a cock yet it would be considered morally wrong in this day and age to call homosexual behaviour abnormal, apparently 7% of the population doing it is enough for it to be respectable.
So Cocaine should perfectly ok, more men have tried coke than play snooker and cricket combined.

Sadly probably 75% of celebs (especially males) are cheating on their wives/girlfriends, 60% or more will be taking drugs, the same percentage embezzling money somehow and probably half have had some form of perverted sexual encounters, gay, orgy, prostitution etc.
If we were in their position, we would be doing the same too, it's very easy to criticise when your in a different enviroment.

Ultimately, that's his sole problem if he gets into problems because of coke but it sure doesn't show the youth of England the way to follow. I don't think Calzaghe really needed to issue an apology. He was set up and as has been pointed out, he is hardly commiting any serious crime. ICB has a fair point in that a responsible father shouldn't be on the town womanising and coking it up, but to be fair we wouldn't really know about Calzaghe and coke if the gutter press hadn't forced it down our throats. The kids would certainly have been none the wiser. The older me doesn't really agree with using drugs, but that's the choice people must make for themselves.

Plus he didn't cheat like all the other celebs that get condemned on here, (apart from that rugby player who everyone is fine with cheating on his wife cos he was fucking blokes), he ended the old relationship first, which is pretty acceptable behaviour in my book.

Well i haven't actually fought myself, this isn't Fight Club mate. But yes i have boxed i done it for quite awhile, i had a few Amateur fights, i enjoyed it. But never had any intention of becoming a pro or ETC.Quote:

Plus i've got a kid and i've moved since that, which is why i gave it up. But i still like to try and go and do the training and ETC, when i have the time to do it. Secondly are you honestly saying i talk rubbish ? hold on a minute.
Aren't you known on this board as the most biased guy regarding British fighters ? and also whats rubbish about my post ? i posted facts the part about the American fighters beating Joe Calzaghe is an opinion, but i think many boxing fans would agree with that comment.
I know plenty about the sport, i come from a boxing family. My Grandad's brother beat Olympic gold medalist Terry Spinks, my Grandad was also a very good boxer and taught me alot about the sport. And my uncles were all boxers.
I grew up on boxing and picked it up at a very young age, and i know alot about Joe Calzaghe probably more than you. I've seen his Amateur fights and pretty much every single fight he's had as a pro.
So i think im well entilted to an opinion on Joe Calzaghe, considering this is a boxing forum. And everyone is allowed to voice there opinion whether or not you agree, but i know you wouldn't agree anyway.
