What colognes do you guys wear?
I've had to top up mine this week as I was virtually running out.
I just resorted back to my staples.
Leu' Dissey by Issey Miyake
Armani Code
Acqua Di Gio
I might try a couple others, not sure what to go for.
I know John Varvatos and Hanai Mori are popular, and I've read online that Green Irish Tweed by Creed and Rochas Man are really good but I've tried none of these.
What do you guys use?
-
Re: What colognes do you guys wear?

Re: What colognes do you guys wear?
Geo F Trumper - Aftershave - Extract of Limes Aftershave glass crown top bottle (splash) 200ml
I used to like Davidoff Cool Water back in the day when they only sold it in their London shop but it got popular so now I stick to the limes stuff.

Re: What colognes do you guys wear?
Bilbo, the Green Irish Tweed is awesome. Really is the best stuff I have ever had, lasts for ages, but real expensive. It smells like the piss of the Gods!
I guarantee you will get people complimenting you if you have it on.
Most of the time I use one of either Diesel, CK1, Hugo Boss Platinum or Gucci.
-
Re: What colognes do you guys wear?
I don't wear cologne. Just aftershave and Old Spice.
-
Re: What colognes do you guys wear?
Jazz or Karate aftershave.

I know Gucci have just release a Pour Homme Sport version that is meant to quite nice, you tried that?
Also I know the 'experts' say you should test a scent on yourself because everybody's body chemisty is different and it smells differently on each individual. Does anyone know if there is truth to this?
To me it sounds like the kind of elitist artsy bollocks that people 'in the know' would say to make them sound important, as if they have some kind of higher knowledge and experience on the matter and that it's not as simple as just picking the scent that smells nice.
It's the same people who say Acqua Di Gio is generic and a sellout to wear because it is so ubiquitous, whereas I take that to mean it smells nice and girls will dig it, which is, let's be honest the only reason any man would waste his money on such a poofy purchase as perfume. :)

Re: What colognes do you guys wear?
armani but sex swet works best to get the ladies ;D
-
Re: What colognes do you guys wear?
I'm not a huge fan of cologne, some people just abuse the shit out of it. I hate when I'm at the liquor store or something and I'm smelling the cologne of some Ed Hardy hennessy buying douche who was standing in that spot I was 10 minutes ago.
I apply very liberally but my favorite is Armani Code.

Re: What colognes do you guys wear?
Sh*t should be outlawed, stinks like hell and sticks in the nose for hours and gives me a headache, wash your body and use a no smell deodorant. I hate the sh*t and can't stand to be around people wearing it and that includes women, except what you call cologne they call perfume.
keep your bodies clean you stinking girly boys and girls

Great fucken choice and it's my #2 ALL-Time favorite cologne.
Classic.

Re: What colognes do you guys wear?
As you may know Bilbo I'm big on looking good and smelling good...
So anything to do with apparel and stuff like that I'm on it.
So here are IMO the greatest colognes to date...
#7 - Issey Miyake - L'eau D'Issey
One for the ages, with like I think this one has potential for a 5 spot no doubt. I gave a couple of bottles away for birthdays a few years ago. Like the sweet smell not usually my taste but this one is done just right.
http://images3.souq.com/uploaded/080...1251452247.jpg
#6 - Hugo Boss - Hugo
Just like Aqua a must have at any point. Hugo is all I wore during my senior year in HS. Young and fresh smell.
http://www.perfumezilla.com/images_p...-men555773.jpg
#5 - Giorgio Armani - Aqua Di Gio
A classic one and must have at any point in a mans life. You can never go wrong with a splash of Aqua. When in doubt go with Aqua.
http://www.parfiumionline.com/catalo...20di%20gio.jpg
#4 - Ralph Lauren - Romance
A instant classic, not out for long but quickly became one to have in my collection. In years to come I can easily see it in the top 3.
http://www.fragrancex.com/images/pro.../big/1121M.jpg
#3 - Kenneth Cole - Black
Nice and clean nothing too strong. Subtle but very catchy. I gotta admit huge fan of Kenneth so I might be overrating this one here a bit possibly #4.
http://shopping.zeenews.com/v1/produ...r267_large.jpg
#2 - Dolce&Gabbana - D&G
Was my #1 for many years until I started getting a whole lot more compliments from the Dior fragrance. Clean yet with a flirty smell almost sweet like but not really.
http://www.fragrancex.com/images/pro...U/big/227M.jpg
#1 - Christian Dior - Fahrenheit
Clean, masculine smell, not sweet or sugarie... Just a really nice clean smell very inviting to women. I think this is the essential smell for a guy.
http://iedei.files.wordpress.com/200...or-for-men.jpg
Bilbo I strongly recommend you at least try and smell these if you haven't already. Not sure what your preference is but I can guarantee that you will find one you like in this bunch...

Cheers Mick I'm glad you posted and will definitely check out your favourites. To be honest I was hoping you'd make it to my thread as there really wasn't anybody else on here whose nose I'd trust.
I mean no offence to HattonTheHammer and Fenster but I just couldn't take grooming advice from men I imagine taste like beer, sweat and pork pies ;D
I figured Amat and Ouma might have fairly decent taste and Miles probably has a refined nose, but I had reservations about taking advice from anyone other than Saddo's greatest style guru. AKA the Mexican.
I'm glad you like Acqua Di Gio, it seems to be seen as a generic sellout all over the net but I always figured that popular really just meant good. I mean if a scent gets to number 1 then it must be there for a reason right, and that reason probably has to be that girls love it.
Also pleased you like Issey Miyake. It's been my daily staple for years. My last bottle was Leu'Blue which to be honest I haven't liked as much as the original fragrence but have just ordered some of the classic stuff over Easter and hopefully it will come later today. The original Leu Dissey is beautiful stuff I agree.

Top of my list is Green Irish Tweed just because it seems to be the cologne of choice for the connosieur on the net and I want something that won't be worn by most of the herd unlike my normal choices which are all probably in the top 10 for popularity.
I'll have to give Mick's number 1 a go as well and I'll try this one too.
These can be my new scents for 2010.
Anyone tried Rochas Man? I want it just because I love the name, it sounds like some 1970's king of cool, I'm picturing funky Afro's and the guy from Black Dynamite, cool moustaches and shades. Ron Jeremey would wear Rochas Man.....

Re: What colognes do you guys wear?
Oh I almost forgot my favourite!!
Davidoff - Cool Water.
-
Re: What colognes do you guys wear?
Only ever wear Davidoff cool water

Re: What colognes do you guys wear?
To be honest, I haven't worn it since I met my bird.
It's funny how smells bring on an immense sense of nostalgia... Well Cool Water just smells like the old Time 'n' Envy Nightclub & Fresh Poontang ;D

I know exactly what you mean. Different aftershaves remind me of different times. Aftershaves I wore when going out with ex birds, are never worn, as they have too many sh1t memories

Actually, it has been proven that smell is the longest lasting type of memory, even more than visual or auditive things, which all makes sense as we are mammals.

That's why you should never 'Muff out' a skank if you have a tash, coz you'll never get rid of the smell ;)

If there's ever a spot the big broom stick can't reach, the ol' dustpan and brush will find it ;D
Bit of Shake & Vac helps too ;)

Re: What colognes do you guys wear?
Second CMM choice of Hugo boss, sister got it for me for my birthday ages ago, lasted ages and get complemented literally every time I wear it. But please fellas use cologne sparingly! Nothing worst than being skunked by some man/woman and not being able to get the smell off you for 4 days.
-
Re: What colognes do you guys wear?
givenchy rouge literally assures you of muff
if out on the pull or meeting a bird i bathe in aqua velve soaps, shower gels etc. Put on a shirt, trousers, tie etc straight from the iron so they are nice and pressed and then just let the rouge do the rest of the work

Agree, then everytime she,ll see a skunk she'll think of you, not exactly the image we want to be associated with ;)
