" David "Haye is not considering any opponents right now, he needs rest"
Booth: “We are not considering anything or any opponents at the moment. None whatsoever. We want to let everything settle, the last year was quite busy with negotiations for four world title fights, two of which have taken place, and David is now going to take a well-earned rest.
Jesus christ, the guy has fought 4 fights in two and half years but he needs rest?? I thought he wants out by the time he is 31?
Getting very boring this, needs to sort out a fight with the Klits no doubt they are waiting for them both to be tied up then they will come out with the Klits didn't want any of David Haye, fuck your rest sort the fight out for late summer/Autumn then have your fucking rest!!!!

.....I am not surprised, I'm also not amused (but the new WBA title holder theme song helps)
Well I guess Povetkin is getting his card punched next.....maybe Sam Peter after that....who knows

Re: " David "Haye is not considering any opponents right now, he needs rest"
WTF so negotiations take a lot out of fighters now? He hardly took a lot of punishment in either of his last two fights. If he's serious about cleaning up the division and retiring by the time he's 31 then he needs to stop screwing about and sign up to fight a Klit
-
Re: " David "Haye is not considering any opponents right now, he needs rest"
Hahaha the negotiations line is GREAT!
I now know what excuse I will use for Floyd if Mosley beats him. Those Pacquiao negotiations took to much out of him, it was obvious he returned to the ring much to soon.
He took the 2 easiest fights possible and pulled out of the 2 hardest, give him a break that takes a lot out of a guy ::**
-
Re: " David "Haye is not considering any opponents right now, he needs rest"
Diva. end of. I don't care if he's the greatest, most talented, most powerful and fastest heavyweight ever. At the end of the day he's just talk who has time to wait around on him?
Yes I recognize the job he did on Ruiz, but how can you be the savior of the division you fight in once a year?
In his prime Tyson was fighting 4-5 times a year
Lewis? 2-3 times a year
Vitali? 2-3 times a year
Wlad? 2-3 times a year
Ali? 4 times a year
Haye? 1 time a year

Becoming a joke mate, Wlad will be lining his next fight up soon so that fight will pass us by once again, I am getting the imprerssion Haye and Booth are clever men who are in this game to become rich men without taking much risk, might be jumping the gun a bit but your average man in the UK who doesn't no much about Boxing actually think Haye is the new fucking Tyson the way he is on every fucking tv show claiming he is the " WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMP " Which is technically correct but he is playing on the casual fan who believe he is the number 1.
If he doesn't fight any of the Klits next he can fuck off Haye!
-
Re: " David "Haye is not considering any opponents right now, he needs rest"
WTF i hope this is some sort of BS masterplan to push the money up in a mayweather kinda way ???
if its not he must trully not fancy his chances.
-
Re: " David "Haye is not considering any opponents right now, he needs rest"
So is this an official statement that Haye has talked himself into exhaustion?
-
Re: " David "Haye is not considering any opponents right now, he needs rest"
What amazes me about the Klitschko/Haye thing is that Klitschko did sooo much talking beforehand and then had shots at BOTH Klitschkos. So he backed out of both, he's human he's allowed to. But to STILL talk shit, say they are scared (it's obvious they're not) and keep yapping is borderlinne indefensible. It's crazy people get so caught up in either hating or liking a guy tht facts tend to blind them. When you back out of 2 fights then say negotiating 2 fights (Booth said it but w/e) took a lot out is nonsense. But Bitschko rhymes ::**
-
Re: " David "Haye is not considering any opponents right now, he needs rest"
That sounds like Booth was asked a question about who's next for Haye and he politely was saying he don't know.
Where's the rest Skel?
-
Re: " David "Haye is not considering any opponents right now, he needs rest"
To be fair Haye is kind of embarrassing but if he knocks out Wlad he instantly becomes the greatest human being ever.

I know mate, when he fought Ruiz my mate was talking like Haye would beat a prime Tyson:-\ I think Haye and Booth realise that a fight with either Klit could end badly and ruin his career, so they'll try and make as much money possible before they happen. I didn't criticise Haye for pulling out of both fights before but to say he needs a break after 2 fights? Its pathetic. He'll probably end up in their with Holyfield or Briggs next:rolleyes:

Re: " David "Haye is not considering any opponents right now, he needs rest"
According to trainer and manager of Haye, Adam Booth - who informed Gareth. A Davies of Telegraph Sport that his fighter has "no interest" in a fight with the New Yorker - the idea of such a fight should not even be taken seriously.
"I'm surprised it has even been taken seriously even on a website," Booth said disparagingly.
So, who will Haye, fresh off his exciting 9th-round stoppage of a game John Ruiz, look to fight next now that "The Cannon" is out of the picture? Somewhat depressingly, Booth says Haye has no upcoming opponent in mind at all, and that the 29-year-old will instead look to take a break from fighting.
"We are not considering anything or any opponents at the moment," Booth went on. "None whatsoever. We want to let everything settle, the last year was quite busy with negotiations for four world title fights, two of which have now taken place, and David is now going to take a well-earned rest."
So, it appears as though Wladimir Klitschko's own recent calling out of Haye (via a well publicised You Tube message) will also not be answered any time soon. How long, though, will Haye's "well-earned rest" last? Let's face it, for a primed and peaking warrior such as "The Hayemaker," a schedule that has consisted of just two fights since November of 2008 is not one that should have caused any problems. Yet now Booth is telling us Haye will take a break. Add to this the promise Haye has made of how he will retire at the age of 31, and it looks like the exciting heavyweight puncher may only been seen in the ring on a further two or three occasions at the most.
If Haye really does want to face Wladimir Klitschko, for the "Real" heavyweight championship, what is he waiting for? Turning down Briggs is one thing, but fighting no-one else instead, at least for the time being, is not something that will sit well with the fans. Especially when Haye declared himself, not too long ago, as being the saviour of the heavyweight division!

Re: " David "Haye is not considering any opponents right now, he needs rest"
I think some of you may simply be reading too much into the word 'rest'.. by taking a well-earned rest he might simply mean he's taking two-three weeks off before he begins negotiations again.

I don't understand why he needs to rest when in negotiations? Isn't Booth his manager wtf has Haye got to do just be by his mobile why sunning himself in the Bahamas or whatever he does when he has to " rest ".
This fight needs to happen now Wlad has been out of the ring for nearly two months now and no doubt will be looking to get a fight signed soon with or without Haye, so why not get the fight signed now for say September/October go have a good time for a few weeks then come back ready for the biggest fight of your life?? Oh no better idea, wait for Wlad to sign for someone else then you can come back from your rest and start negotiations with Audley Harrison!!!!

Haye potentially not wanting to fight Klitchko doesn't make you any less of a douche. Hope that helps clarify things for you :).
I agree that this makes him look really bad though.

I supported your views from the start. I agreed with your theory that Haye was a fraud and ran with it. I say you thank me for it.

I think his credibility has been suspect for some time now to be honest. He looked very good against Ruiz and I think he would pose a threat to both Klitscko's (whether or not he would win is another matter), but he seems content to run his mouth, keep his name in the spotlights, and take lesser fights to pad his bank account. Hope that changes soon.

Re: " David "Haye is not considering any opponents right now, he needs rest"
Maybe He wants to enjoy his baby Cassius Haye whos about 2 now and spend some chill time with his wife Natasha who's pregnant again with their next baby;)
Or maybe for possibly the fight of his life he wants to be in the shape of his life and get it spot on with no regrets afterwards.
Or it could be as Saddo says that Booth/Haye are hanging it out in order to get more dollar;)
That article doesn't claim he'll be out of action for a massive amount of time so i wouldn't panic.
Booth's a smooth operator so hold fire for a bit..! and trust me i can assure anyone who thinks Hayes in fear of the Klits that they are fools if they believe he is in anyway scared.
The mans fearless -FACT ;)

The worrying thing is that no Klit will be available especially Wlad, that's the problem.

Re: " David "Haye is not considering any opponents right now, he needs rest"
If I was Wlad I would book another fight ASAP. No reason to wait for Haye, he's not the champ, who knows how long his "rest" will be and by the time he fights again it will probably be 2011.
-
Re: " David "Haye is not considering any opponents right now, he needs rest"

Exactly my point.... He fought a few weeks ago so give it a chance to unfold a bit;D
are we forgetting the Champ called out the challenger here and went so far as to post it on youtube?
Wlad will do everything possible to fight him.
FACT

Wlad can't make a fight that anyone cares about apart from Haye. That's the problem.

No but he can stay active and be the champ defending his throne, Haye will still be there in a year with the same payday.
In the meantime, there's Povetkin or even Valuev which would be a comparison match.
Wlad sells a lot of tickets at home, he sold out his last fight (51.5k) so it's not like he's going to be out a payday.
I think it weakens his negotiating position to sit around and wait for Haye.

Re: " David "Haye is not considering any opponents right now, he needs rest"
Isn't that just in short...
I need to avoid the klitschkos a bit more...;With any hope Vitaly retires and Wlad has a full card when i return....
Fucking Haye is a tool

Looks like David Haye vs Nikolai Valuev 2 i guess.

For sure Wlad can fight anyone in Germany and sell shit loads. But the only heavyweight fight that means anything is Haye.
HBO don't show Wlad's fights anymore, right?
The champ is chasing the challenger. Sad but true.

HBO doesn't show Haye's fights either. To be honest even if Haye fights Wlad I can't say for certain it makes it on HBO. Haye is by far and large unknown in America and Klitschko hasn't inspired recently even though he's been dominant. If Haye wants to get on HBO he's going to fight in America at some point, that definately won't be the case if they fight each other.

I understand Mr i'm in shape look at my body, cris arreolla is fat, get tired in late rounds himself deserves a break i guess. We all know after fighting john ruiz and valuev what mere mortal could go on. I actually like this and agree. Haye give it a rest. I think we've all had enough of your crap. I was actually backing this guy in the past. Geeeezzz.

Haye has only had three heavyweight fights since moving up from cruiser. He has a deal with Golden Boy. The potential is there.
Wlad has bored his way out of HBO showing him.
Wlad needs Haye.

Like I said no way HBO televises a Haye fight until he fights in America.
He is completely an unknown here. Average sports fan out here has no idea who he is, therefore noone will pay for it, therefore no HBO.

Yeah, Haye hasn't even fought in the States, obviously, but i'm sure that's intended with the Golden Boy link.
