Why no talk about Julio/Angulo?
This should be a great fight, I know a lot of people have completely written Julio off, but he is still very young and learning. I think the has the potential to be a FOTY on the same card as another potential FOTY candidate in Arreola/Adamek.
I really need to find a way to catch these.

potential fight of the year that i completely agree with
julio is overrated but he can bang. It`ll be short but sweet

Re: Why no talk about Julio/Angulo?
Lovechild fell off years ago but this fight should be a laugh still.
When is it?

I don't think Julio is overrated at all anymore, as a matter of fact "The Love Child" has been pretty much written off.

angulo was a deer in headlights against cintron hence the reason he fought such a naive fight
Wont happen again and certainly wont happen come saturday, AA inside 7

Yeah it's just two fights, but it's HBO BAD, not even PPV.

Re: Why no talk about Julio/Angulo?
As i said before lucky we have our fellow brothers across the pond, letting us know about all the big fights. Because us Brits only even know these fights are happening when you tell us.
I think both fights will be FOTY candidates in all honesty, by the way what time is it on ?

It's on the west coast here, so probably pretty late for you guys.
11:15 pm EST , So I think that's 4:15 AM for you if my math is right.

ICB, if you'd like something to keep you up to date, its mighty geeky, but I have a pretty clear calendar that I use as a desktop wallpaper highlighting all important fights in the UK, Ireland & Europe and then the States and some additional locales. I keep it updated every couple of weeks so as to not miss anything and know what fights I should be looking for to add to the file sharing board. If you wish for it, just let me know the screen resolution of your monitor.
I like both of these fights and will definately be on it the next day finding a download soon as.

Re: Why no talk about Julio/Angulo?
Nice, quite a bit of boxing this weekend. Didn't realise it was all happening so soon. All the fights seem to be week on/week out right now. It's good.

Because Angulo is going to walk through Julio. Julio will last a round or two longer than Harry Boy Yorgey...or maybe not.
Cintron beat Angulo fair and square. But, it won't happen again until Angulo steps up the competition. I'd like to see him fight Paul Williams or Sergio Martinez next.

Re: Why no talk about Julio/Angulo?
i'm actually going to go against the grain and pick Julio to pull the upset, it's not as if he's lost to garbage (Quintana, Dzinziruk, and Kirkland), and he doesn't have a bad chin seeing that the only guy to stop him was Kirkland and he had his own moments in that fight, he has the experience and he's the hardest puncher that Angulo has faced apart from Cintron, who fought a technical fight against Angulo, I pick Julio by 9th round TKO

Dzinziruk is a very good fighter I think. He's over in the U.S now too, fighting on the 14th of May. Quintana and Kirkland are also good so Julio shouldn't be underestimated for sure.

I'll rep you for a week when I get back if Angulo finishes Julio before 8 rounds.
You rep me for a week when that doesn't happen, sound good?

Mr. Sheep,
Although we disagree at times (as we do now), I always respect your opinion. That said, El Perro is gonna put the dog on Julio. You're on!
Because I'm so confident in Angulo, I'll go as far as to say that if somehow Julio wins, I'll throw a sig bet in for a week too.

I was trying to think of a snappy comeback with a play on Lovechild, but well it just didn't work out ;D
How about we just do a straight rep/sig bet on any means win?
You get Angulo, I get Julio (now I'm just talking crazy)
I will be out of town for the next two weeks so I'll have to delay the payout, but I always pay when I lose.
What do we do for sigi?

Re: Why no talk about Julio/Angulo?
Didn't Julio fight James Kirkland? I sem to remember him getting physically dominated in that fight after a reasonable start.
I don't see much changing here to be honest.
I expect him to be stopped by his corner in the middle rounds.
But Angulo did look very poor against Cintro so maybe he has been overhyped somewhat.
Will be a decent fight.

He's too one dimensional i don't think he did anything wrong, i just think he's as good as he's gonna get. He didn't do anything wrong purely because he can't do any better, he tried as hard as he could.
And maybe Kermit Cintron was a bit of bad style match up for him, because of the height and reach advantages Kermit Cintron holds.

Re: Why no talk about Julio/Angulo?
I don't like Angulo, I think it's his mustache.
In fact, I don't like Bradley for the same reason.
Boxers shouldn't look like low-budget pornstars. Fact.

I like Bradley's moustache. He looks like he's a black officer in the American military from the 1950's.

Considering the amount of porn you watch, you would like his tache. Is that how you imagine him when he comes in to 'fix the fridge' ;D

Re: Why no talk about Julio/Angulo?
I dont think Julio can take Angulos power, he will probably get stopped. Julio is not that great a boxer to outbox him.

Truthfully, and this may be moronic, but I believe the stories that he was sick. I think I see where you are going with it though - Julio may follow the Cintron gameplan.

So what should the sigi say?

Re: Why no talk about Julio/Angulo?
I got to think on the sigi my man. We can mutually agree though.
-
Re: Why no talk about Julio/Angulo?
I see this fight being a battle of attrition. In a fight like that I favor Angulo. I think he'll wear Julio down in 7-8 rounds. I wouldn't count Julio out. All three of his losses were against world class southpaws. He'll have a much easier time getting punches off against Angulo.
-

I just read Dan Rafael's chat on ESPN. He said he heard Angulo had trouble making weight. Here's what he wrote

I sorta agree with that. When he would fight on the same card as Kirkland I always thought Kirkland would beat Angulo. Then again, he is one of those boxers that is always fun to watch.
You know what would be a fun fight - Angulo v. Williams at 154. Because Angulo to me is a like a bigger Margarito and the Margarito/Williams fight was solid.
Sheep, we still on with the sig bet even after the weigh-in debacle?
