The Shane Mosley Supporters thread
I am looking forward to tomorrows (todays for everyone else) fight a lot. It has all the potential to be a really fantastic event. But the thing I would like most of all is for Mosley to either outwork or stop Floyd. Mosley is getting on a bit now, but every great fighter has it in them to shine one more time. Just maybe this is Mosley's big moment and he will deliver.
Come on Shane!

Re: The Shane Mosley thread
Damn, I was supposed to call it the Shane Mosley supporters thread, but was in too much of a hurry. The current title seems a bit gay, so sorry about that. But regardless, let's hope the bald, stuttering tax avoider gets buggered good and proper. Nothing could make me happier than to see Floyd humbled in a post fight interview.
Mosley top of the PFP rankings once again and after proving himself clean would be really good to see too. I like Mosley, seems like a nice enough chap.

Re: The Shane Mosley thread
Come on Shane !!! shut Mayweather's mouth for all of us.
-
Re: The Shane Mosley thread
Shane has to find the form of 10 years ago when he beat ODH the first time. Either way he will take Floyd to the uncomfortable zone and I want to see if he can take it. I hope Floyd wilts and Shane comes out on top.
-
Re: The Shane Mosley thread
This is going to be the shane mosley comiseration thread tomorrow.
-
Re: The Shane Mosley thread
Mayweather struggled against Oscar while he was using his jab and then Oscar dropped the jab, we know the rest of the history. Shane is faster than Oscar, has normally a good double jab and will be more or less 8-10 pounds bigger than Floyd. If he can be busy enough with his longer reach and his jab, I could imagine him pulling the upset, if he respects all the conditions of course. Anyway, if we're as good as our last fight, Shane looked tremendous against Margarito and no excuses should be made would he lose to Floyd.

I think he can beat Floyd with less than that. Mosley has had his share of decent performances since and is older, but Floyd hasn't proven himself against a 'top' welterweight since the mighty Baldomir.
Mosley on the form that took Oscar first time out will take Floyd to the cleaners. Floyd has never faced anything like that at a higher weight.

Potentially, but that is boxing. Things do happen and favourites often win, but sometimes they don't. Mosley is a bloody good boxer and you can't deny that he has fought anyone and everybody. Floyd hasn't and on that basis alone, he has a vast potential to lose. Maybe it happens and maybe not, but this is a pro Mosley thread, so bugger off with your negativity.

Shanes jab isnt as stiff as Oscars. Mosley throws it as a range finder to set up his right hand or power left hook.
A good jab is important in every fight but you would have thought it would be a key weapon that Nazim has employed in his strategy. Zab had a quick jab that Floyd couldnt see coming. He had to abandon his usual defence and use an Arthur Abraham style high guard for the rest of the fight to avoid getting hit. We wil know Floyds out of his comfort zone tonight if he changes his guard

Re: The Shane Mosley thread
I'm rooting for shane. How can u not like the man, it would be a great story if he was to beat mayweather then go on to beat pacman. I hope he achieves this. I think he can do it.it ain't gonna be easy tho.
As for the fight tonight, I think manny steward said it best, "floyd is gonna shine and show his greatness or he will get dominated, there will be no in between". I'm hoping for the latter,it's not cause I hate floyd, it's just that I love sugar shane. It should be a magical night whatever the outcome.
Job biscuit (all knowing, and all powerful, can read ur mind and ur soul )

Re: The Shane Mosley thread
this is what the board needs. cause all i see is floyd this, floyd that...
i hope shane schools floyd but i think what happens is totally the opposite.
can't sleep... hope i wake up in the morning

Re: The Shane Mosley thread
Exactly, how can you not root for Mosley in a fight like this?
Floyd Mayweather supporters are either there with betting ticket in hand or else souls sold up the spire.
Nobody wants him to win.

Re: The Shane Mosley Supporters thread
i'm rooting for floyd cuz i'm a floyd fan. Mosley comes across very well on 24/7 but....
I first had a dislike for Mosley because of the drugs thing. I'm so anti drugs in sports it's untrue, and I fully back mayweather for attempting to clean up the sport.
Then there was DLH vs Mosley II IMO shane threw about two decent punches the whole fight but still got the win. Fuck that. Oscar jabbed his head off in that fight.
Then there was the first winky fight. Again Shane threw absolutley nothing. he did better in the re match but winky still did him.
mosley just doesn't do anything for me and I think in this part of his career he is vastly overrated.
If shane wins this fight, it gives pac further oppotunity to get out of a fight with floyd. Shane vs pac would be good but I'd prefer to see floyd vs pac and I can't see that fight happening if shane were to win.
So there you go, a few reasons why I'm rooting for floyd and not shane.

Because I'm rooting for boxing instead. It is more to the interest of the sport if Floyd wins to set up his showdown with Manny. The Floyd-Manny fight has the potential to be this generation's defining fight.
Shane is a nice guy but the Balco scandal has turned me off of him. Someone can say what about Manny? There is no clear cut evidence against him besides hearsay that he's on a Filipino Military drug that can make you invincible against bullets on the battlefield of war (wtf?).
So I'm rooting for Floyd for the sake of his future showdown with Manny.

Re: The Shane Mosley Supporters thread
A win for Shane is a well deserved one.
As rumors have it, he was much avoided by PBF in his prime, but nevertheless after ten years, a much sought after win is now in the offing. Payback time!
And if and when this somehow gets done... how golden it indeed is... patience is a virtue. Go Shane!
-
Re: The Shane Mosley Supporters thread
i cant wait for this fight! i really hope mosley pulls this one off & shuts mayweathers mouth once & for all. i really think without a doubt this is PBF's hardest fight of his career.
mosley do us all a favour;D

Re: The Shane Mosley Supporters thread
After the weigh in Im feeling less confident for Mosley.I want him to do a number on Mayweather badly but this is him coming wide against Mayweather coming down the middle. He's going go have to make this a very physical uglyish fight.

For the sake of boxing? REally? you want the an inactive guy who cherry picks weight classes and is an utter twat to prevail?
No. I want the real boxer to win. The one who has fought Winky twice, Mayorga, Margarito, Cotto, Collozo, Vargas 2x, ODLH 2x, Forest twice......Golden Johnson back in the day --> A real fucking warrior who ducks nobody. This is a complete list of real WWs.
And after he wins, he won't fake a retirement or talk about how much money he made because he is ghetto trash after trying as hard as he can not to make the fight entertaining.

I pray for Shane's victory.

Re: The Shane Mosley Supporters thread
C'mon Shane!
Fukk Floyd up!!!

Re: The Shane Mosley Supporters thread
I'm hoping Mosley not only beats Floyd, but at some point gets him hurt and finishes him.
Mosley is just as fast as Judah was but much much smarter and a better fighter.

C`MON SHANE
Beat the crap out of the little prick

That's bullshit, but I usually agree with you...the best fight for the sport of boxing is Manny vs the WINNER of this fight and what would be even better is if they all did a little trio dance like Cotto-Mosley-Margarito...paper rock scissors...That's what would be good for boxing....

Re: The Shane Mosley Supporters thread
Mosley has to work that straight right hand if he wants to find Floyd. If he throws those wide hooks he's going to hit nothing but glove and shoulder. STRAIGHT RIGHT SHANE!!!
If I heard correctly, there's a rematch clause in the contract. So if Floyd loses, they get the option for an immediate rematch. But Shane does not have the same clause. If Shane wins, we'll end up seeing Mosley vs Mayweather II.

You've guessed wrong. I don't really care who wins. I just wanna see a bloodied all bust up Floyd like most people here. ;)

i dunno, maybe cause i couldn't sleep so i watched mayweather-DLH before falling asleep(see what i did there?;))

I hope Shane does real well and hurts him early so the questions are all in Floyds head and not the other way around; but I think Mayweather is going to side step or go under Shanes leaping lead and floyd will catch him in close as he adjusts, stopping Shane from leaping in bodily as he does. That will be some speed taken off Shanes approach and it'll make him think twice, which is what Maywheather is about, turning the fight into his fight.
I hope its the reverse I really do. Props to whoever wins this, how ever they win it.
Sadly Floyd UD for me.

Re: The Shane Mosley Supporters thread
As long as when Floyd lays on the ropes Mosley just stands back and makes him come to the middles and fight Floyd will go to sleep
-
Re: The Shane Mosley Supporters thread
Hey! I want to get in on this thread BEFORE the fight. Only a couple of hours (or so) till fight time, and I'm raring to go. I'm having some family and friends over, and I can't wait... it should be a hell of a fight. Well, at least I'm sure Mosley will try to make a fight out of it. I hope Floyd comes to fight as well. I'm rooting for Mosley to pull out one more big fight and knock Floyd's swelled head clean off. Mayweather's got the speed and some admittedly awesome boxing skills, but Mosley's got the power, and savvy of a veteran who's been around, especially in tough fights. Mayweather has always been more concerned with looking good, and this could be the night that his precious "0" gets taken from him.
Go Mosley!!!!!
-
Re: The Shane Mosley Supporters thread
I only slept about 4 hours last night, just couldn't seem to drop off properly. I am well excited about this fight, but I have learned from Pacquiao/Hatton not to get too excited. I can't see that happening again though...go Mosley!
-
Re: The Shane Mosley Supporters thread
Seems like we had more faith in Mosley than he did in himself...
Damn it.

Yep, it was a bit sad to watch from the 4th onwards. Mosley looked old and couldn't seem to get his punches off at all. It was a good win for Mayweather, but I think even the likes of Collazo and Berto might have been competitive with the Mosley we saw today.
He should retire or have a final farewell fight. He's done it all anyway and doesn't need to carry on.
