Re: My last hope is GONE. :(
Well you can do the honorable thing and fall on your sword. I mean if your entire concept of boxing exist in the hope of Floyd Mayweather Jr doing something stupid in order to sate the debased thirst of some of our lesser human cognitions, Felo-de-SE is an option.
Re: My last hope is GONE. :(
THat's exactly how I feel Tito.

Gotta agree... i didn't think mosely was going to do it either, but i've said we just have to swallow that floyd isn't loosing to any of the current people that are " supposed" threats to him. You just never know though, maybe for some insane reason bradley or berto or someone will get lucky down the road and beat him by accident. Pac is pretty much the last guy everyone is resting thier hopes on now......but i say the same happens to him that we saw last night. Ah well.....boxing still goes on.
Re: My last hope is GONE. :(
Well mosley didn't suffer hist first loss till he was what 35-0 and 32 years old or something...but well then he bumped into vernon forrest, I don't think many people fancied a vernon win, so who knows just because it doesn't seem like there is anyone out there does not mean there isn't...but then again mayweather fights pretty seldom, so wouldn't surprise me if he only had a couple more fights and retired undefeated.
Re: My last hope is GONE. :(
pacs currently in a different world even to the likes of mayweather
I promise you mate however obsurd it seems if they were to ever meet manny would have floyds number and it would be last nights second round all evening!!
Re: My last hope is GONE. :(
Your last hope? Wow, funny how much hate you can harbor for someone that doesn't know you exist.

Pacquiao? Sorry, I don't see him beating Floyd. He'll make Floyd fight, to be sure. But Floyd's skills should prevail. After that... a retirement party for Floyd (he'll plan it himself) celebrating his undefeated status and his joining an elite fraternity. Mark my words. He will NOT venture above 147 and risk his first loss. Why should he? Even the most avid Mayweather fan knows that Floyd isn't exactly the biggest risk-taker in boxing.
So, (sigh)... there goes the last great hope to dethrone Floyd.
:(
No. Don't agree here at all. First off, Mosley was beaten by both Winky Wright twice, Vernon Forrest --R.I.P.-- twice, and Cotto. Mosley is a great fighter. There's no doubt about that. I just don't think he's a phenom by any stretch of the imagination.
That said, I think I agree with the Pacquiao pick. However, he throws punches from angles that I've never seen a puncher throw punches from. And all of those punches have very bad intentions.
I think Mayweather is so adamant about the testing because he knows that's the toughest fight out there for him. And I don't think Floyd is making ridiculous demands, -- well, at least not with the testing -- as I think such testing should be adopted across the board in this sport.
I.M.H.O., I think that fight is going to be the most competitive fight Mayweather has ever had; that is, if the fight ever materializes.
I make no secret about it, I don't like Floyd much. But he may be the best boxer to ever strap on a pair of gloves. He's definitely up there with the best at minimum.

A retard... What a plausible conclusion. You, sir, are quite the keen one, huh?
Again, I'll reiterate what I said previously - I think it's silly to dislike someone that you don't know, so much so, that you make a thread expressing your grief that your "last hope" of basking in his loss has come and gone.
Maybe it's just me, but I don't dislike anyone that I don't know to the extent that I would be hopeful and excited to see them lose. Especially considering how hard these boxers train. I would, however, understand wanting to watch a cheater lose.

How much likeness can one harbor for someone that doesn't know you exist?
Re: My last hope is GONE. :(
Manny Pac is my back up.
Lets start the bandwagon up again and say he will beat Floyd. ;)

If you think floyd is the best ever you have not been watching boxing for very long...

Let me guess.... you're a philosophy major and frustrated writer, right?
I think there's a forum for that. It's called the shutthefuckup.com forum.
I hope that helps.

Re: My last hope is GONE. :(
Well, it's been said,,, by him (Mayweather), that he fights for Money. Not fame or glory or legacy...
Our best chance is a giant superstar that is a GIGANTIC drawcard with fans, to emerge above 150 pounds, that can bring GIANT amounts of cash to a fight with Mayweather...
I believe Mayweather would take risks (although whether they are actual risks is another question considering how good he is), IF those "risks" were worth the money...
Welterweight for the last 5 years has really been where the attention and money and bulk of talent has been.. If you are on top of WW, you are pretty much assumed to be on top of boxing and P4P lists..
It's a bit of generalization, but the biggest incentive for Floyd, Money, hasn't been luring from any division above his comfort zone... You can probably name a few fighters above Welterweight that could give Mayweather a good fight (Although Mayweather is impossible to underestimate),,,, but NONE of them have a huge status outside boxing, and none will bring the money that he can get from fighting the fighters he has been..
But on the other hand, a fight of Mayweather vs a natural 154 pound fighter can be promoted right, it CAN bring in the money.. If Mayweather is as he says, the biggest cash cow in boxing, then it shouldn't matter who he's fighting... The money will follow him... So he may as well take these perceived "Challenges" or "Risks"... Personally I feel it can only help him,,, but what I think will help him and what he thinks will help him are totally different things...
Pac is my personal last hope.. I always believed he has a better shot than Pac, but the way Mayweather takes away parts of his body as targets so effectively, even in close, I don't think Pac can do it..
I believe in him more than Mosley though...

Best legacy,,,,,? No.... Greatest of all time? No... (that incorporates to much)...
But possibly the best to ever strap on a pair of gloves (skill, winning ability, raw talent, natural athleticism for boxing)?? I don't think that is a crazy statement, and surely does not prove someone doesn't watch a lot of boxing...

Good points all. :)
It's funny... I go to great pains to give PBF his props. But I just happen to mention some negative things, and I get labeled a "hater". Seems there is no middle ground with Floyd fans. Either you love him, in which case you're alright... or you're a hater, and don't know anything about boxing.
So if I ha-a-a-a-ve to choose.... hmmm....
I guess I'll be a hater.
;)

To many times people have counted Pacman out as of late and everytime he delivers. When this fight happens it will be no different.
