Berto, mosley is done...
I don't think mosley is totally done, he just fought the best fighter in the world, I see shanes right hand landing on more than enough occasions to stop berto. Fighting mayweather and berto r 2 completely different things
I still think Mosley beats Berto which I think is going to be their next fight. Floyd took Shane's heart, Berto will not do the same.
I think people are taking too much away from Mosley due to how Mayweather made him look. This is not uncommon for Mayweather opponents. JMM couldn't carry the weight, Hatton can't fight at 147, Mosley is done, etc. Nothing Mayweather did to make Mosley look old will be replicated by Berto. Berto is still not beating any of the top 3 welters.
Mosley, he showed he still has his speed, still has his power, and still has an iron beard, Berto wouldn't of taken the shot that Shane landed in the 2nd as well as Floyd did, and Berto's defense is pretty leaky border line non-existent, Mosley would probably stop Berto early or around the 5th
I voted Mosley but I changed my mind. Berto would give shane problems and unless he gets caught by Mosley , I'd pick Berto tentatively
Spot on. You only had to watch his last fight against Carlos Quintana to see how bad his defense is. Mosley would've put him away in that fight if he'd have been in the ring instead of Quintana -despite all of the personal/emotional problems he had.Quote:

I would originally have said Mosley, but now I think it is much more a pick 'em. Mosley still has his chin, but in terms of output I think he is going along the old Jones Jr path. He will look good for a round or two and then you are asking "Where's Mosley gone?".
mosely out classes berto.
like all sports boxing needs new blood. it needs new young stars... and some of those fighters that get picked for grooming don't work out. i see that for berto. boxing also needs young potential stars to fail and i see berto will probably fill that role quite effectively.

I agree, less than a week ago people actually belived mosley had a chance to beat the best boxer on the planet, now he's trash....lol ! I give berto the same chance i gave him before this past fight. The way these two hit and hug it would be close just a matter of who's more effective at getting away with it.Quote:

I picked Shane before to beat Berto and pick Shane again. Nothings changed. Losing to Floyd on points was no surprise for most of us. What did surprise me was how close Shane came to putting Floyd on the deck.
He couldnt beat Floyd at his age but Berto is a different fight altogether. Anyone who saw Berto gassing vs Quintana and swinging away like a novice would realise he isnt ready for Shane yet. Mosley is old and probably a decade past it but he's still the same guy who destroyed Margarito. If he finds your chin regularly he puts you away. Andre is abit too hittable unlike Winky, Floyd and Forrest who were all good defensive fighters. Quintana lured him into a tear up and he abandoned his gameplan right away. Also non punchers have hurt Berto. He should wait a couple years then Id pick him but now Mosley all day long.
Berto has fast hands and is technically sound but he's not on the same level as Mayweather defensively nor does he have Mayweather's punch resistance or ring smarts.
Mosley would take Berto out if he caught him with the shots he caught Floyd with and through 12 rounds, theres no way Berto can not get hit by Shane.

Mosley still beats Berto in my opinion. Berto is definetly no Mayweather when it comes to defence.
Mosley struggled against Mayweather because he was looking for openings that where not there after the 2nd round, openings that he will find no problem on Berto. Yes Berto has good handspeed but he leaves his chin out to often and if Mosley lands that right hand like he did on Mayweather then Berto his hitting the canvas. It was a master class by Mayweather but I still feel inactivity and over training was also a factor in Mosleys defeat.
OK was just wondering how opinion would be swayed. If Mosley can recover and fight Berto later this year after a break, he beats him imo. Berto just has no polish. I like him as a fighter but he's to raw, fights in spurts and really his whole gameplan is just like a running back rushing down the middle. There's no cleverness to it and that's why he's been so hittable. Mosley would have him in trouble still so would Cotto.
I say Berto. Solely because of youth. Both guys have speed and power, but both fighters have a porous defense. Berto hasn't taken anywhere near as much punishment as Mosley. I saw Berto takes this on heart.
