Can't think of the last decent fight to be on terrestrial television. Amir Khan has been on ITV a few times and Fraudley's 'professional career' began on BBC. Good job them getting this fight though - be interesting to know how much they paid for it.
its free based on the fact that nobody would pay for this fight , powderpuff v perv khan
Sky have a deal with Frank Warren's Sports Network so when Amir Khan left Frank Warren ,his contract with Sky apparently dissolved too.
Been looking to see if ITV have 'bought' Amir's rights but can't see anything confirmed.
ITV dropped live boxing last year as they said it wasn't 'economically sustainable' but I can only think that they have had a rethink or just paid for this fight as a one off? I can only assume that they no longer have that deal with Hennessy Sports.
Just checked the TV guide and the Khan fight is on between 2.40am and 5am. They're optimistic. Fight in the US don't usually start till at least 5.15am over here.
Khan fight is a one off deal.
ITV was given the fight free by Golden Boy/Khan otherwise it wouldn't be getting shown.
Sky hardly wanted a 4am PPV sell against a guy last seen shitting himself against Hatton and before that looking like a complete clown getting a haircut in the middle of a fight.
Great to have ITV involved in Boxing again and hopefully more to come from them. With the Mitchel vs Katsidis bill on Sky in the evening and then the Khan vs Malignaggi fight in the early hours, its a great night for UK boxing fans. Hopefully some of the undercard fights from the Khan bill get shown live aswell.
A positive step by ITV.
As it's free I fancy watching this..... Do I want to wait till four in the morn though?
british boxing is going through a golden period at the moment
haye on box office
khan on itv
froch on primetime
mitchell on skysports
long may this continue!!
They are all on different channels and not free, whats so golden about that!
Nice to see this on ITV. I'lll be looking forward to it on Saturday after tuning into Sky Sports to watch the Warren bill.
Last big live ITV fight was Froch v Pascal.
i read in news of the world that khan was on itv because no other channel wanted the fight

Do you think Khan's next fight will be on ITV, against JMM? Too big a fight to be on ITV?
