Haye offered 50/50 to fight Wladimir
Dan Rafael is reporting that Haye is being offered 50% of the take, to fight Wladimir, and the deal would give the Klitschko's NO future options on Haye
I have never heard of the Klitschkos offering such a generous deal to any of their opponents before.
Haye really talked himself into a sweet position.

Re: Haye offered 50/50 to fight Wladimir
Surely he's got to take that. He's never going to get a better deal. Though he could probably earn more padding out his career against old men.
Just take the fight Haye, everyone wants to see it.
-
Re: Haye offered 50/50 to fight Wladimir
Haye has to take this offer.
-
Re: Haye offered 50/50 to fight Wladimir
I think Haye is a genius. He went from being no name--to having the heavyweight champion of the world, bending over backward to try and make a fight with him.
Great marketing.

If this is true then Haye has hit the jackpot if this is what he had planned all along.
-
Re: Haye offered 50/50 to fight Wladimir
Why do I see threads from year 2008 about this fight?
-
Re: Haye offered 50/50 to fight Wladimir
One thing you cannot knock about Wlad is the fact that he is willing to fight everyone and anyone. Wlad can also take the easy route and fill stadiums in Germany fighting bums but he wants to fight the best. After listening to all the whining and crying from Mayweather it is nice to see a champ just say lets split it and get the fight done. But I guess Wlad is the educated one that doesnt piss all of his money away on nonsense so the cash isnt as much of a concern for him.....
If Haye doesnt take the fight now we know he is a scared little b%$ch.....
-
Re: Haye offered 50/50 to fight Wladimir
It's fair to say that this journalist is a Klitschko mouthpiece and hates Haye so let's see what other reports say, let's see what Haye's camp says. Haye is going to fight one of them eventually but he's the guy they all want to fight at heavyweight now, he gets to make the fight when he wants it.

Let's get one thing straight. There is NOTHING BUT BUMS in the heavyweight division bar a couple. So THEY ARE consistently filling stadiums with bums and will continue to do so until someone decides to take boxing seriously north of 200lbs.
And I don't think there is anything wrong with Haye taking his time before a title shot against either Klit. I mean 2 years ago when he moved up, everyone said he didn't stand a chance, now everyone thinks he's the last hope. C'mon people... he had to GROW in to the weight class. He's a bigger boy now. I just hope he puts his money where his mouth is ... or his fists where his money is
Personally (i know I am the only one saying this...) he should take one more fight with a bigger guy and then go after the golden geese. The longer he waits (as long as he is improving in the gym; and the Klits get older) the better his chances are. I just have too much patience I guess, but if he loses... then where will we be?

Haye has to take this fight, especially after all that he has talked. If he loses, i agree with Jonny, where do we go from here? There is not much out there after that.

Re: Haye offered 50/50 to fight Wladimir
Haye will stay quiet it for another month. Wlad agrees to fight Povetkin. Haye comes out running his mouth talking about his cell and cable was off and he wasn't aware of no offer. Wlad is still ducking him. Haye groupies say having your cell and cable turned off can happen to anybody and that if Wlad really wanted to fight him he would of paid Haye's bills for him.

I'm very skeptical about such an offer. Haye has done anything to deserve a 50/50 split. There has to be some stipulation in the contract where the majority of PPV revenue goes to Wladimira. I'm doubtful Haye will ever take the fight. If he does, he better hope to land a perfect right early on, or it will be a relatively short night for him.
Any thoughts on that outrage with the elder sister and the Sonoski (sp?) -- and I'm too lazy to check -- fight? Thinking of creating a thread of HW's with the most padded records of all time. Klit senior would surely make the top 10.
-
Re: Haye offered 50/50 to fight Wladimir
haye will prob not take the fight, he'll find some excuse to walk away siteing some unfairness in it.........he knows he can make money fighting old limited fighters, why blow it away and get toasted fighting one of the big guys.........he pulled out vs wlad, he turned down vitali....i'm really sick of these types of fighters......just be honest and dont call out people you'll never want to fight just so as to get your name out there
-
Re: Haye offered 50/50 to fight Wladimir
The #1 thing I want to know is why (if such a sweetheart deal has been offered) is the WBA title holder considering the following fights: Audley Harrison, James Toney, Hasim Rahman, and Shannon Briggs??? I really doubt that the fight will happen now

Vitali's record since 2002 has some respectible names on it before that time it was kind of hard for him to get a fight vs a top teir heavyweight what with him being 6'8 and having all but 1 of his wins coming by KO at that point. To be honest Vitali never would have had the chance to fight Lennox Lewis without the injury to Kirk Johnson and pressure from fans and media.
-
Re: Haye offered 50/50 to fight Wladimir
Great quotes in boxing news magazine.
"Vitali wants to fight Valuev because of his fight and Haye because of his mouth".
And this classic frmo Bernd Boente, the Klit's managers: "Haye is like a little dog barking at bigger dogs that pass his kennel. He never does anything, just barks back". ;D
-
Re: Haye offered 50/50 to fight Wladimir
Vitali has wins over
Arreola
Peter
Williams
Johnson
Gomez
and his only two losses are against Byrd and Lewis, most people had him ahead in both and he only lost due to injury (Byrd was his shoulder, although i thought he could have just gutted it out, and Lewis was the nasty gash)
so don't see how his record is all that padded
he's done a hell of a lot better than Haye has in his entire career, sorry but wins over an old faded Mormeck (especially after being dropped) and a win against the average Enzo are his biggest moments at Cruiserweight, Adamek's close win against Cunningham was already better than that

Re: Haye offered 50/50 to fight Wladimir
Vitlai has said again Haye is a pussy offered 50/50 acorss the board for both Klits and does not want the fight, now something else I have read don't no if this is true but one of the problems is that now Sauraland ( spelling ) has rights he and K2 have contracts with rival networks in Germany is this true can anyone tell me??Haye is a bitch end of story for me.
But anyway here is the Vitali interview from Cardiff Wales:
BBC Sport - David Haye afraid of Klitschko brothers - Vitali

Re: Haye offered 50/50 to fight Wladimir
I dont buy the rumor.
As much as the Klits want to make " Pizza face" out of the guy, they will not be splitting the purse 50/50. He hasnt given the bro reason to
Hes got to fight one good fight, attract more attention to him self, make the fight look spectacular, which will draw more crowds, sponsors, coverage, and more importantly what the Bro's want the most...United state respect and recognition.
There is with out a doubt the #1 goal of any boxer is to fight in NYC stadium, or rather any United states Atheletic arena to a full, sold out show with 60-80k in attendance, and this will not happen with just the Klit bro alone, and quite frankly Haye has not created a big splash yet state side.
Lenox lewis had to go through hell and back to gain the respect and recognition in the states and in my opion hes by far way more talented than Hayes is

Obviously not been doing your research, Haye v Valuev did 800,000 ppv buys in the uk at £15.00 a pop, so that fight alone without HBO did £12 million quid. So there is the reason Haye is a big draw.

Thats the reason that they won't let him have all the British TV money now too. Funny how they agreed to that when it was only Setanta he was with and not Sky.

50/50 is very fair acoross the board mate, Haye and Booth have obvisouly been taken a back by how much they can make through brand Haye and no that would be burst by fighting Klits, so they are pussying out for sure so they can make a few more big money fights wihtout much danger.

Yeah not denying that skel, I am a big Haye fan and I am disappointed in him not taking this deal myself, but I'm just pointing out that last year the Klits wanted Haye to just take the British TV rights and they take all German etc. Now they won't accept that and want to put it all in one pot and split it, according to schaefer that is why the deal broke down.

I wasn't aware of that. Do you mind providing me with the link to a source? I wanted to show this to a few buddies of mine.
But what ever the case is, From a financial point of view Hayes may be a prospect for a 50/50 but there lies one problem, and thats what happens when or if Klit knocks him out or wins.
Hayes career will be in jeapordy with out a doubt, and hes fully aware of that in my opinion, Im sure who ever is advising the man, told him listen you need to build up your carrer and etc.
Think about it?
your Hayes, youve ran your mouth so much and promoted, only to lose. Not as history has proven Oscar boy, has put on crappy fights each and every time he promotes a fight for him self and they were all major fights. (regardless of excuses) but what holds up oscar is the fact that hes got a strong base in the states!
Mike tyson said David hayes is not ready for the Klit Bros and should focus on building his career state wide, which I agree on.

That's it exactly. Haye is a bigger moneymaker than the "brothers" and now they're desperate to get their sewn-on hands on half of the Sky money that a fight with Haye would gross. Haye can make more money than them in the meantime while he waits for them to accept his offer. He's in the driving seat on this one.

Backwards thinking as always
When has Chicken Little fought in front of 50-60,000 fans? Wlad and Vitali are established brands and they have proven they are the class of the division based on the FACT that they duck no one and look to fight the best available opponents. Certainly we can't say the same for Chicken Little...doubtful he'll pay out better for title shots as well. Right now in the division challengers can either take the easy road to a title or fight THE MAN of the division....we'll see what class of opponents live in the same dream world you and Chicken Little do and accept smaller purses for a smaller reward

Haye could easily put 80,000 in Wembley and he makes more money than the Klits FACT. Just fucking accept the fact that Haye is a draw Lyle, you don't have to like the guy but you can't deny he's got some pulling power when it comes to selling PPV's and putting arses on seats. I went to his last fight and the MEN was packed out and the atmosphere was electric. The Klit crowds are just boring Germans who think that a sports arena should sound like a library.
Who was it that HBO said is the only Klit fight they want to televise?? Haye! Because they know it is the one HW fight that interests the world and Haye is just about the only HW around now who is in decent shape and is given a chance of causing the Gay brothers some problems. People want to see the boring fuckers battered, and many feel the same about Haye but for different reasons. Haye is hated for his trash talk and the Klits have bored many boxing fans away to the UFC.

You're kidding right? When has YOUR BOY ever come close to putting that many people in a stadium? In his last 3 heavyweight fights I've read reports for crowds around the following sizes: 17,000 vs Barrett, 10,000 vs Valuev, 18,000 vs Ruiz....even if we round all of those up to 20 or even 25,000, hell let's round up to 30,000 it still doesn't match what Wlad does. In his last 2 fights Wlad has had: 55,000 and 51,000 respectively AND added to which he pulled in 3 million plus GERMAN viewers for the Chagaev fight.
I'm also glad people in England are dumb enough to pay money to watch a "businessman" box vs no hopers...that's quite a gig your boy has going.

Re: Haye offered 50/50 to fight Wladimir
I'm no fan of Haye, I think he's shit scared of the Klits becuase he knows it's the end of his career when he fights either. BUT if he fought either it would draw a huge stadium crowd in the UK

There was 20,000 in MEN for Ruiz fight. That was it's capacity. I don't know about the German venue but everywhere he fights in England now is a sell out. Believe it or not Lyle thats all you can do is fill a venue. And like I said he would put 80,000 in wembley too.
And as far as boxing no hopers, Ruiz could easily be argued as being a better opponent than anyone Wlad has ever fought.

Re: Haye offered 50/50 to fight Wladimir
You think that the John Ruiz that was 38 years old and 3-3 in his last 6 fights "could easily be argued as being a better opponent than anyone Wlad has ever fought"? I don't speak for everyone else, but I have to disagree I think Wlad has fought some dangerous and very difficult opponents.
