donaire v. montiel possibly next
forget pacquiao-mayweather for the moment. after donaire handing hernan marquez his first ko and montiel making short works of concepcion, this is a fight i want to see.
-
Re: donaire v. montiel possibly next
This fight should of happened already. But like every big fight that has Donaire name attached to it, it didn't happen. And unfortunately after seeing what Montiel did to Concepcion I don't see Donaire taking the fight. Like all other talked about fights against name opponents Donaire will find a way not to make the fight. It's his nature
-
Re: donaire v. montiel possibly next
i bet you this fight happens and if it doesn't it wouldn't be because of donaire.
-
Re: donaire v. montiel possibly next
well it won't be because of Montiel seeing how he's the only one out of the two taking on live opponents and actual threats to his title, unlike Donaire did against the bum that was Marquez and company

riiiight! oh didn't donaire faced the same fighter a few fights ago?
-
Re: donaire v. montiel possibly next
Montiel has certainly become one of my favourite fighters over the last two years. I would love to see this match-up.

Montiel-Donaire was discussed before. It didn't happen. Just like Donaire-Darchinyan 2 didn't happen. Donaire-Arce. Donaire-Kameda. Donaire-Mijares. Donaire-Hasegawa. Donaire-Cazares. All fights that were at one time discussed but never happen. Yet it's never Donaire's fault, right?

didn't the same guy take Donaire the distance? and didn't Montiel just knock Hasegawa the fuck out, and doesn't he have a win over Gorres?
and yea Donaire is taking on all comers...riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight!

just show me an article where it shows it was donaire who backed out from any of those fights. from what i remember it was montiel who turned down the fight with nonito at 115lbs because he wanted to move up in weight.
-
Re: donaire v. montiel possibly next
Lol. Can't wait til Donaire snuff out all Montiel's accomplishments. Yeah, just like that.

i have great respect for montiel and his fight record speaks for itself especially with his performance of late, but donaire has always wanted to fight the top guys and you can find more than a half dozen articles on this with him calling them out. the problem is nobody seems to want to face him, with morel the last to turn him down.
i just hope this fight with montiel pushes through because it's going to be a good one for sure.

Like Donaire even gets in the ring with him

Re: donaire v. montiel possibly next
i too would be surprised if this fight happens. it seems all donaire wants to do is fight minimumweights. i love the way he was jumping all over the ring like if he just beat some big time fighter, when he knocked out minimumweight manuel vargas. that was classic! and by the way, donaire is i believe still too big for bantamweight. with his height, he should be fighting at super bantam or even featherweight. he looks so huge against all the other little fighters. i guess he's gotta do whatever it takes to have a big advantage over his "minimumweight" opponents!!!

Not only Donaire is eager to fight Montiel. Even Darchinyan who's been avoiding Donaire has been calling out Montiel too. So it's funny how you make it sound like he's the most feared fighter in that division. You have to understand that Montiel is now a prime Mexican superstar just like Barrera and Morales was. He's a big prize. Everybody wants a piece of him. Donaire is well aware that the great way to inherit Pacfans is to follow Pac's footsteps.

Darchinyan's the one who's been calling out Donaire, hell when Donaire was asked who he wanted to take on next all he did was giggle like a little girl and not answer the question, so don't come with that bull

Fernando Montiel Targets Nonito Donaire, Vic Darchinyan - Boxing News
this was right after the Hasegawa fight

Re: donaire v. montiel possibly next
just found this:
Fernando Montiel in a "Darchinyan" state of mind
this seems to be donaire's lot if the fight with montiel falls through. he's too skilled for his own good.

umm yea right now i'd say Darchinyan is a tougher opponent, after he lost to Donaire he did what? oh yea become an undisputed champ, what has Donaire done? jack shit
-
Re: donaire v. montiel possibly next
Great match-up. Fair play to Montiel he will fight anyone. Good to see Donaire stepping upto the plate after a few wins over modest opposition.
Should be a great fight.
-
Re: donaire v. montiel possibly next
finally another high profile fight for donaire. this is a very good opportunity for him to show what he's really made of. a win over montiel (no given) would get him the recognition he's been seeking after looking for so long without success to fight the best.
i wouldn't want to miss this fight.

DONAIRE ALREADY SIGNED THE REMATCH CONTRACT, BUT DARCHINYAN REFUSED TO SIGNED IT WHEN THEY SHOWED IT TO HIM. Donaire mentioned that also in his showtime interview right after he beat Marquez.

3 months Montiel-Donaire sig bet. What do you say?
-
Re: donaire v. montiel possibly next
i'd sig bet either one of you two and i'm sure as hell Montiel wins it by KO

Those there are fighting words.
Donaire needs a quality win more than any other top twenty p4p fighter. Someone he has maintained a top p4p spot on most people's list (not mine) without fighting anyone worth a damn.
I'm unsure of this fight because Donaire looks very polished in many ways. I feel like he is capable of putting on a boxing lesson against most people at that weight. At the same time, I like Montiel's competition more.
Truthfully, this is a fight I would be very hype on if it were to be signed.

first the fight has to get signed, and that alone is doubtful

Wassup with the hesitation? I too do believe Montiel is a great fighter. But the way you talk about him, Donaire must be a 10 to 1 underdog. That should give you a huge confidence. C'mon, let's seal the deal.

i already said i'm in, so i don't know what hesitation you're talking about, it's just logic that the fight has to be made in the first place

Oh ok. I must have misread the "I'm in" part. We're done deal then!

Re: donaire v. montiel possibly next
the only reason why donaire has looked so dominant in his last two fights is because he's fighting nothing but minimums! when is this guy ever going to grow some huevos and fight someone who would give him a real fight? can't believe this cat is number 4 p4p in ring magazine but that just goes to show Ring magazine is "corrupt" like all the other organizations.
-
Re: donaire v. montiel possibly next
Ring is owned by Golden Boy, Donaire is promoted by Top Rank, Golden Boy and Top Rank don't have the best relationship, so although i agree that Donaire is nowhere close to #4 p4p don't see how you can say Ring is corrupt for having him there

Didn't he fight Concepcion who was 4.5 lbs over the limit at the weigh-in? Know your own shitt first before you troll around dumbfukk.

no need to throw around the insults, even if milmascaras is an idiot who only starts shit :-X
-
Re: donaire v. montiel possibly next
pacs,
so you actually think 4.5 lbs. made that kind of a difference? listen, against montiel last saturday, concepcion could have come in 8-10 lbs. overweight and it wouldn't of made a difference. donaire struggled mightily against an overweight concepcion who for all i know, wasn't in great shape and still took donaire into deep waters.
-
Re: donaire v. montiel possibly next
morales,
look who's calling who an idiot! aren't you the one who is always kissing up to pacquiao's huevos? typical boricua. te dan una chinga y continuas a mamar la verga!
