How the hell could he get down to 168 and be healthy, if anything he could move up a weightclass. As for his skills hes one of the best at the moment, the frustrating thing is that there isn't any real rival for him at that moment.Quote:

I don't get tired of saying that people have criticized BCD since 04/05 when people started noticing him.
He's got a glass chin.
Big fucken deal the kid hit the canvas a couple of times. Fucken Trinidad hit the canvas all the time yet he went on to be an ATG.
He doesn't have room to improve.
Keep in mind he was fighting at Middleweight and during that time Sturm, JTaylor, Oscar and BHop were the top dogs. I told people he's just a kid he's gonna grow and you could clearly see this.
He then fights a couple times as a SMW then suddenly he's fighting for a minor strap as a LHW and now he's argueably the best LHW in the world. Aside from BHop I really don't see anyone beating this kid. Not Erdei or not Brahemer and certainly not JP, Henry, Shumenov or not even the somewhat highly regarded Cloud.
Whom I was big on when he 1st started but I've lost interest and we'll see him tested vs. Glencoffe.
Yet I have certain issues with BCD he just loses focus at times.
It's like he gets bored and I hate to say this but at times he reminds me of Zab in the sense that he can do so much more and he does but in spurts.
Like the way he fought vs. Glencoffe the 1st time where he just took a round off and other moments where he just seems to be thinking of other things.
Yeah Ive noticed that as well. I think if he really put his mind to it that he could go in there in get the KO or a stoppage against most of the LHW but he starts to lose focus late in fights..Quote:

But almost no charisma, and very little focus in the ring. He relies so much on his natural abilities it's a wonder G.Johnson didn't take the win in the first fight just based on his posture and attitude.
He could end out having a Joan Guzman type of career. No big adversity and a ton of wins against guys that are not exactly cream of the crop.
i think chad dawson is an incredible fighter who is just barely scratching the surface on how great he can be. i saw him fight 4 years ago on the jose luis castillo/rolando reyes undercard in el paso, tx. he fought and decisioned a tough canadian jason naugler. i knew right there that he would be a special boxer and a future world champion. if he was more active, he, i believe, would be in the top 10 p4p list. i don't know why these fighters nowadays are so inactive.

So far he is one of the least exciting champions I have ever seen. I also don't have any idea about his personality, charisma. So, I would bet my money on him in most imaginable fights, but considering that boxing is a show, I would say he is pretty bad ;).
Yeah, I'd agree with the no charisma people. He's also not knocking people out. He's the best about at 175 but if he isn't knocking people out and he doesn't generate column inches outside the ring he's going to struggle to become a star/PPV-worthy fighter.

Chad is exciting if you appreciate skill, its not fair to say that he isn't exciting in the ring when he has had exciting fights.
The one problem I've had with him which he fixed in his last fight is mental lapses, he seems to have too many lull moments when he is in control of a fight. Either than that and maybe some fine tuning of his defense, I think he's one of hte best in the world.

Hey I just call it like I see it. I've fallen asleep (seriously) in his last three fight's. He was better than Johnson and Tarver in every single aspect and still fought safety first. If you are faster,stronger,younger at least try to land something solid to get your man out of there or to at least hurt them. I call Dawson what most on here call Wlad "No Balls".The only difference is Wlad eventually stops his man. He is exciting for the first few rounds and then bam he sleeps and goes into a complete shell. Cloud is getting some ink not do to his incredible skill or speed he simply FIGHT'S. A little off topic but I've heard that Kelly Pavlik wants to fight Chad Dawson or Tavoris Cloud, would that make it more exciting for you to watch?
I had high hopes for Dawson but I am not especially impressed. Good defense, fast hands, a little less than average pop.

I am gonna go ahead and say Cloud can beat Bad Chad at this moment in time. This is boxing and Dawson while very good technically, doesn't have the intangibles like killer instinct. If Chad trys to fight at all with Cloud he could get in trouble, so I predict another jab/movement fight, crowds gonna boo in this one again I think.
Dawson doesn't do one thing spectacular? He does great body work, he is one of the best combination punchers in the sport, and one of the best pure boxers in the sport. I think his power is underrated because he doesnt' ko guys, but like Wright and Floyd he definitely earns opponents respect with his power. Also he's tried to be an exciting fighter like in the first Johnson fight which was really exciting, but he almost payed the price for trying to go to war with somebody better suited for that type of fight. I think once he beats enough top end guys which there are so many to choose from these days that people will finally respect him enough to realize how good he is. Like I've said before if you don't like a pure boxer then you don't like boxing. If you need a knockout to be excited then I suggest you go watch UFC.Quote:

My worry about Cloud is that his fight vs Glen Johnson will not be easy and he could fall into the same trap that Yusaff Mack fell into. You HAVE to box a bit vs Johnson and Cloud hasn't shown that he's smart enough yet. Believe me I LOVE the way Cloud fights but he's very vulnerable to Johnson. because Glen has good defense a great chin and can counter solidly...he also won't let you rest in the ring with him.Quote:

I said could, he has the power to put Chad on queer st. You saw Johnson take Dawson to deep waters the first fight, too late though after losing early rounds. Cloud will have a better pace I think.
